Beyond that, if you must have the best backup possible, Trinity will give you a full retail disc with the base game and both expansions.

ICO uses separate accounts from Impulse, so you'll need to create a separate one with your same cd-key there.
unless there's a way you can setup a custom aspect ratio for Windowed mode.
Just grab the window border and resize it across both screens.

It's in the same location as Vista, and does include hidden folders so you'll need to set them to display if you've not already. C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\

If anyone wants to make an up-to-date version of one of the user-written modding stickies that is no longer maintained by its author, just do it and send me a PM about it and which one it will replace. There's not really any point though in removing those threads that may not be entirely current (but are still helpful) when there's nothing to replace them with.
"Cut, copy and paste are not available in firefox"... wtf? No, seriously, wtf? Why does the forum give me that error? How can a forum not support... oh forget it.
Firefox blocks those actions from being initiated via Javascript for security reasons. You can still use them manually via Ctrl+X/C/V.

Galaxy Forge just comes in a RAR archive, so it should work the same as unzipping anything else. What archiving program are you using to open it? You should be able to just drag and drop the Galaxy Forge folder from the archiving app into the appropriate location in Windows Explorer.

It's the same for 7 as with Vista: Vista/7: C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ XP: C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ Please note that some of these directories are hidden by default. To unhide them, go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View and set yourself to view hidden files and folders.
If there's a way to turn it off selectively, I'd love to know. OTOH, as we're clicking to start the game anyway, and clicking a zillion times during play, what's one more click...
Setting the shortcut to run as admin *should* do the trick, though I don't use UAC myself.

As Impulse is the only supported method of doing incremental updates, doing that would be tricky if you don't have internet access on your own machine. You'd need to use the archive option to transfer your existing old version install to a machine with internet, update it there, then copy the updated install back to your machine.
