Ground warfare ISN"T pointless if habitable planets are rare and bombardment causes irreparable eco damage. It got boring always blowing up whatever aliens were on the planet all the time, there was no reason to invade. If they make invasion a decent choice, then people will do it. Sure it's fun bombarding the planets the first hundred times but after a while, it becomes rather generic.

Multiple solar systems being the normal, each with only a few if any habitable planets. I really didn't like the 80 planets in a single system look. Have the planets orbit, and have actual ground warfare...have it matter what ground tech you achieve, and have ground armies be something you have to move about and if possible RTS them on the planet or give them a General that will ai it for you. Have ground conflicts take longer but make them necessary over habitable

Packing up and leaving while making your neighbors remember you as "oh, I guess they weren't that bad, at least they only ate their own planets, not ours" is not the way the Vasari want to be remembered when they're gone... I want to be a Vasari, not a fricking ultraminer that just strip mines planets. We're not Dwarves. "Hi, we're the Vasari, we're here to kick ass... What the h

I was surprised that it's notp the Titan's ability also. Who want's to scuttle planets. Also I want to destroy ENEMY planets. Even if I ahve to destroy their defenses first, this makes more sense. Give it a huge recycle time, or possibly introduce teraforming ships so planets can be fixed (using lots of time and money of course, possibly improve other planet types.) But just strip m

Well it takes assets from a product they're trying to sell, and gives it away for free to products that have already been sold. This takes potential money from them. It's not rocket science. Instead of modding stuff into the earlier version, why don't you mod original stuff into the newer version (Rebellion) You get the benefit of the new graphics, compatiability with the latest version of SOASE, and much more interest in your mod. Well maybe they (Titans) should be used to fight aliens, like the fluff says the Rebels are building the Titan for? Not being able to level your titan on rebels should mean you need to use it on actually challenging offences rather than beating some guys with clubs down to butter with your Titan stick. Perhaps you want to use it a certain way, but that's what the other races allow you to do...

Got any cheese to go with the whine? Whether or not you were joking about piracy, saying you'll encourage it on a dev site is going to get you banned. You may not like it, but it's flat out stupid to expect anything else. Maybe you're a very nice person in real life, but you certainly are acting like a spoiled child here. Guess what, maybe you don't like steam. However quite a few people have no problems with it, it&#3

Realistically, shadows in space are always hard. Soft shadows come from lighting that is coming through an atmosphere, or from a non point/directional source. A sun in most cases acts as a point light system.. Unless you get VERY close to a sun, the shadows are always going to be acting as though it were comeing from a single directional light.

I'd like an entirely different approach. Make refiners create refined versions of the metals and crystals that are necessary to build more advanced units and buildings. Don't make it competitive with trade, make it an entirely different metagame.

Events. I'm hoping the trigger action in the updated Galaxyforge will allow this. But how about something like a group of planets join together and form a new AI due to other faction incursions, Stockmarket Lets you buy and sell shares in goods, and or loan resources or money to other factions with interest paid back...much like selling government bonds. More variances in resources. Let some places be rich and some be po

Hmm, wonder if things like the Trigger system could allow you to make a star go supernova after a certain amount of time. Destroying all colonies in the initial star system, requiring players to restart in linked ssytems... As a random EVENT :) Or wormoholes that shift at various times..

We have spinal cords (two ofthem infact) but no heart (you may have noticed that in our treatments of your lesser species colonists). In addition we have a tri lobed brain (and tri lstringed genetics, not "DNA" as your species use), which while it can lead to greater abilities in multitasking, is sadly somewhat more vulnerable to mental illness (usually viole

True. I would be fine without a Titan if they give me more sneaky ships (and tech, platforms, etc) to do sneaky things with. The Vasari don't need ginormous ships to make up for any...lackings the human anatomy may have. Ohh yeah, we're evil HUNG space lizards.

As a Vasari player, I'm hoping one of the abilities on the Vasari Imperial Titan (loyal) is the ability to turn planets from terran or ice to Volcano planets (while bombarding) Cause we like it best when the action is hot and heavy. We're here to heat you up!

Well as I said, non capturable well, solar wells might work also. Obviously it would work better on a designed rather than random map, but I think it would be a lot of fun. I like the idea of the spawn happening at different places. Perhaps the capturing ship has to be in the well for a period of time before it can capture it, and while the relic is spawning, it does massive damage to combat ships and stations in the well?

7 Replies 11,790 Views

How about a Capture the Relic mode where a non captureable gravity well spawns a capturable prize on a similiar time frame to when pirates spawn. This prize can be picked up by a colony ship, and if carried to the capital world of a faction, results in a hefty bonus (resources, money, planetary or tech bonus (similiar to planetary relics), pirates immediatly launch at all other factions, You get the idea. It's worth capturing.<

mobile turret = fighter. Ok there are a few differences in the way they would fight, but if you were an engineer charged with making a mobile turret, that would be the first thing you would look at...
