I say make the heavier cruisers more expensive (higher fleet cap cost) I'd also like to see heavy cruisers get a little bit of upgradability (perhaps 2 experience levels?) with a few extra abilities available AND let them have names that you can change. If they cost say 25-30 Fleet points, that could be reasoanble, I'd still build 'em. The other day I had 25 Kodiaks backing up my capitals. They're hard to kill, which is what makes them so useful. Also another Heavy Cruiser type

I really want the Advanced Phase Jump Inhibiter. Ideally it could be put on a Cap ship, so it's mobile, but make that ship relatively weak, and maybe unable to jump to a different system because of the inhibitor system interfering with jump drives. I'd like mobile versions of the super weapons and proposed Counter Super Weapon Techs. I also want a way of slowing down incoming trafic, or even blocking phase lanes. Have something of this nature very large (in terms of Tac slots)

I've found that fighters tend to distract enemy fleets while your big gunned caps and cruisers grind them down. Can be very useful support. I've not used a carrier based fleet though cause I don't like what happens when something big gets in close to them. Carriers are also great raiders cause they can stay near the phase lanes and hit the enemy without taking any damage. For a full fleet battle though they aren't so great. For support in that full fleet battle they're fantasti
civ is the campaign, that game doesnt need a format storyline campaign because the game itself is the campaign, the whole premis of the game is basically to take over the world, and thats all it needs to be and as per the expansion, why should i pay for something that should have come in the original release?
Yeah, and taking over the universe is the campaign in Sins- so what's your point? I've still not played the campaign in Dawn of War or in Galactic Civ

Admiral Ayako's fleet of 4 Kol class BBs led by a Dunov BC and @ 12 Kodiak CAs with a supporting fleet of 12 Percheron CVLs led by Vice Admiral McCailin was able to cross the "T" of a similiarly sized fleet of human ships last night. The tactic actually works in this game, as most of your ships are able to fire on the enemies, while only a small percentage of them are within range. Ayako's ships kept moving while McCailin's fighters distracted the enemy's heavier units, we were able to

I was just looking at the textures. The Normal maps aren't standard. Any idea on how they're generated? It's using full 4 channel textures for normals, but they're greyscale rather than blueish...wahhh. I want regular normal maps! Havn't researched yet, but might have parallax in there for the alpha. The other 2 texture maps seem to be specular+reflection, and diffuse+transparency

Were you bribing the Pirates to attack them? If you didn't give the pirates any money, they probably just attacked you. THey're greedy, those pirates...

It's difficult to stop playing. It's 6:02 in the morning here. The dirty Vasarians just overwhelmed my Kol and Akkan forward line with a large group of Skirantra Class Fleet carriers, now they're pouring into the inner worlds and ripping apart my infrastructure, they already sterilied my Homeworld. I thought we could find a way to make peace and prosperity for both races. Those filthy animals don't have a word for peace in their language, but they have over 40 for war. Now we, what lit
Don't torture yourselves with beta 4. It's primitive relatively speaking.
*meh* I have been modding Mechwarrior 4 for about 4-5 years, I'm planning on modding your game also. I figure I can get the beta, play it a bit, then start modeling stuff for the full game in a while, need to familiarize myself with your shader system, model system, etc. I actually prefer modding to playing in the long term. Though I'll be playing this for a good length of time I think.
