I crack up every time I hear the Cobalt Light Frigate say "What now?!". I get the feeling that hes the only guy in the fleet that has some facination with Gangland memoribilia, and tries to keep it 'hood' where ever he goes. "What now?! Punk @*# mudda! You know who runn'in it! TEC-4-life!"

Seems like you have some serious personal issues buddy, with assumptions and for some reason unwarranted hostility. So ill cut right to it. Speaking with a situation that requires it, yes I do play against good human players on a regular basis, and the dreaded fleet of Vulkoras is definatly "awesome" when it happens. No other group of capital ships can take the beating and deal the damage like a group of them. It isnt always based on armor raiting, a
if the game supports the card. Iv got a similar set up, but if there is some major card support problem, you are out of gas. Wont know till you test it yourself.
ROCK 'N ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
I like a lot of other gamers out there dont join the random gamers in the lobby, and opt for predetermined play times with friends and friends-of-friends to hammer out space justice! A good bet is to get involved with a ring for SoaSE players, and do the same, if you are having difficulty finding fellow players. Normally you'll notice that there are 4-10x or more as many players in a game as there are in the lobby, I belive thats the root of that effect.
Not trying to get involved with the immature part of this conversation, but as an observation, I had a lot of luck with this ship by building about 3 of them, maxing P.M.S. and the Orbital Assault Platform, and using the Vulkoras as the main attack crew for forward assaults. (Of course Desintigration by level 6 or 7, depending on the need). This is assuming there is a game worthy of that many capitals, only the <20min games some play random-online forego
Ok, I really love this game (precursor to the "but this ticks me off" part :)), and this is my 4th Huge game. But this is the first time this has occured. I created the game with normal settings, 8 players, Pirates, and 2 out of the 8 AIs were hard, and the other 6 were on normal. The solar system I started out in ends up containing 4 AIs, one of which is a hard AI. The solar system had about 28 planets total. About half way through, (before my d
If you have low hard-drive space, this can also be attributed to errors with system resources like hard-drive memory, being low. If you are unsure of how to mess with the pagefile of the system, freeing up space will allow Windows to auto-adjust it for you (if it is set to let the system manage it). If the above answers fail, try to free up at least 15% of your TOTAL hard drive space on the operating systems drive (usually the "C:" drive). Computers act
Check to make sure your fleet capacity isnt maxed out. If you have less than 50 capacity left, you wont be able to build another Captial Ship until you scuttle some frigates/cruisers.
I field multiple fleets, for attacking different locations at once on larger games. Usually, I find that multiple fleets are not usually necessary in small or very small games, other than a few seperate defense forces, and a single assault force. Otherwise though, I use tactics of feint-attacks, decoys, and side assaults to bring down an enemy. I play Vasari, so there are lots of techs and ships that give me an advantage to do this. I usually group m
Hey cool info Amish, I look forward to seeing any info about techs like improved planet cap, and planet growth rate techs too. Thanks a bunch for this!
Id like to also add that with Phase Stabilizers, you are nearly impervious to a flank attack. Building smaller fleets at star systems or one or two larger fleets to defend the main system works great, they can either stomp any attempt to break into a planet, or hold off a larger fleet until you can recall back (hopefully you can do it nearly immediately with your Marauder level 6 ability). You may still need strike-craft defenses, or in very hot zones, static turrets and other tactical
I picked up the Vasari after a break for a while from the game, and I think the changes to RA are great for a few reasons. First id like to talk about how the Vasari work great in the field. The best control of fleet movement and presense of all the races, denying the enemy actions in combat or out of combat (in the same planet or not), Medium/Heavy standard combat ships with self-repair (best if micromanaged) which can give you an edge in fleet spamming at any point
I hear from a lot of people online on other forums, play this game with a set group of friends on a regular basis. I do the same, usually I just find a friend or two, make a time to meet up, or when I see them log on we hop in a game. I have not had a random match game in about 4 months or so, if you really wanted to play online regularly your best bet is to get some friends or get involved with those types of groups.
[quote]Another issue I noticed today, is that the "Assault Specializiation" ability for the Vulkoras Desolator, appears to lengthen the cooldown for the planetary bombardment, insted of shortening it as the tooltip implys its use.Note that this is only for the animation, im unsure if the damage per second is reduced. I'll get a video if I can.I was able to test this against the Assault Platforms. They always fire once every 3 seconds or so, and with my Desolator next to it, improving the skill a

Hey thats a pretty wierd bug. I used to get it every other game or so, only playing the TEC, back in patch version 1.03. I havent played TEC since then, but I have not noticed that problem with Advent or Vasari.
Id like to add that the Vulkoras Desolator capital ship ability "Deploy Siege Platform" sometimes is out of range of planets when used. I cant comment on the auto-use toggle of this ability, only the manual use. Using the ability on habitable asteroids always seems to work, the siege platform attacks it as it should, but on larger planets like desert or terran worlds, the siege platform can sometimes be out of range. The Siege Platform will just sit there and do nothing until it expir
oh yeah, im sure they do, just a suggestion.
Why not just have the Devs introduce a few different buttons for scouting. Like: Auto-Scout Last Known Locations of Players (Heedless to Damage) Auto-Scout Last Known Locations of Players (Attempt to Stay Alive) Auto-Scout Unknown Planets Auto-Scout All Locations Id think options #1 & #2 would differ between the scout scouting without rest, and the scout returning to repair & restore some sheilds before trying again. I have no idea how to go about doing what you are asking, but as a different solution, lots of players find it easier to view your ships, buildings, and the battlefield, using the "Grid" overlay. You can find it in the option for the grid in the User Interface section, on the left hand side. Hope that helps if you are willing, sure helps me make sense of things a lot easier.
-- (I apologize for the double posting ahead of time, but thought it was necessary to seperate the 2 post objectives) Reinstalling the game with my "AVAST!" antivirus disabled fixed the issue for me. I hope that helps you original poster, or anyone else looking for assistance.
I am having the same issue as the original poster. Our only thing in common is a 64-bit Vista operating system. I am running Service Pack 1, not sure if he is though. I get a black screen upon running the program, and a "SinsofaSolarEmpire.exe has caused an error" window behind the crashed application. I did not have this problem several months ago, when I had the game installed without Service Pack 1. I think the relationship is unlikely, but im open to suggest
Yeah sure seems like it guys, thanks for the correct information!
- hey I had no edit, sorry for the double post. I diddnt see the link you provided till after my own posting. The "expansion" was reworked throughly with its own code, although it is really more of a stand alone expansion than a general game expansion. The two games can exist independantly or togeather thanks to good programming work :)
