You forgot the most important step. Diplomacy. How many AIs are you playing. Try to make an alliance treaty with one or two AIs. And remember, it all about divide and conquer. Don't make an alliance with an AI that in your same star system.
DarkStar7
yeah for the next, patch, you guys just need to add the words...."Old version detected. Please update to play online" That will solve so many problems.
Don't Mess with Texas. It is by law people here can carry conceal weapons(with a permit of course).
if you're playing lan games, you need only 1 serial number for every two players. Of course with online, it 1 serial per player.
If your dorm/university blocks peer-to-peer to prevent file sharing...you can't play online. Games like Star Craft, Supreme Commander, Guild Wars, WoW are not peer to peer. It uses the Game developer's server as the host. Ironclad/stardock is a small company...and since they're not getting monthly fees like in WoW, Guild Wars...so they can't afford to maintain a gaming server. You'll will need internet access outside your university network. If that isn't your pr
I agree with Tackard and personally, I am a very competitive gamer, so I apologize if I come off a bit biased.I feel that approaching the game from this angle is a bit backwards. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that the majority of the people playing online are there to do so competitively. If they wanted to just screw around, they would be playing the AI. And to assume that just because someone enjoys winning (who doesn't) or is competitive that they will resort to less than
Oh make sure that if all human opponents drop out of an multiplayer game...you have an option to automatically win...beacuse than it will just be sorta pointless when you wanted to play against a human player in the first place.
After winning 1 on 1 without pirates. Play with pirates...keep the bounty of the AI higher than yours so that pirates will attack the AI. Unless, you're ready for pirates to attack you; so that it will give your capitalships experience points. Don't colonize planets/asteroid in the direct path from a pirate base.
I'm dissapointed too about no campaign...but the story is coming...the developers will make a story in an expansion.
They attack and loose a sizable force and retreat...I come in with cap ships and a fleet and destroy it. And last...to DEFENSIVE players...what is your strategy?..do share i am curious
Yeah, that tends to be my strategy too, but keep in mind...if the enemy is smart enough he'll retreat back to a strong defensive point with repair sta
Click research button on top than fleet logistic button on the left. Remember only increase fleet supply/logistic as you need it because of the permanent increase in maintaince fees.
try stage6.com for higher resolution and the link isn't SINS.
I think the point of scouts, is so that the enemy can't catch them...until maybe very late game. It the sole purpose of scouts...that why they're weak, puny guns, but fast phasing.
stardock allows you with one serial number to install the game two computers. Just move the savegame file or folder.
I don't quite see the point in doing a poll in which the outcome is pretty obvious. A RTS/4x game where in the beta4, the 4x component is almost not there. It is not there, because the developers left it out of the beta as mention in one of the responses to a Game Review by a season gamer...MakWu. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=440&aid=169463 I guess the poll is for confirmation issues?
Ron, I know my sugguestions are crazy and totally break the game...but if you can somehow balace the races...that would create an awesome game.
So the TEC are your basic humans in the future. Vasari are your superior, every illusive pirates. Pure offensive quick strike, grab resources, and disappear. Advent more similar to TEC than Vasari (they were cousins are one point). Advent being exile perhaps concentrated much more Defensive than offensive. 1. When attacking TEC or Vasari you can concentrate fire and destroy one ship at a time. With Advent...they have this sharing or psionic between ships so focus fire doesn't
Take a leap make the Vasari really the nomads they are meant to be. Make each race as unique as possible and the game will really SHINE! It will be hard in the development phase, but the rewards of a killer game and reputation could be yours. Playing as Vasari is not as fair as TEC in the early game. 1. Allow them to quickly eastablish gates between their worlds maybe by the 3-4 labs. Thus easily trade and reinforcement. 2. But building gates in enemy territory is slower a
same thing happen to me when loading a saved game. the crash just freeze the game graphics and keyboard input (no ctrl-alt-del), though music and mouse cursor still work.
So far the beta are fun and great, but I worry about replay ability. I think the game would be more fun, if you can't issue orders while paused. Thus SOASE will be a real time game, especially with multiplayer. But with the current zoom levels it is very hard to click on enemy ships moving when you want all ships to concentrate fire on one ship. (Currently when you zoom to close, you pass the object you are looking at, and when you a little out, the ship is too tiny to click on or movin
With the 0.76b.018 version, the culture setting is fine with me. I don't have a problem if you conquer a planet/asteroid and after colonizing it, it reverts back to its old owner. I do have a problem where it instantly reverts back to the old owner. Make it more realistic...like it yours, but the allegiance slowly falls to 20% and an uprising occurs and the planet reverts back to the more powerful culture, unless during that time you manage to destroy broadcasting stations in adjacent systems or
It seems that when I issue a move order, the frigates don't fire back at all. It makes retreating a heavy loss. It would also be good, that in battle when I issue a move order ships will fire at any target within range while they move.
thanks, it works now.
I can't download updated beta. There's a pop up window with asking for log in, it a windows login. I'm not talking about logging into stardock central.
90 degreed or quarter circle right? Guess that means everyone will be placing defenses at the peripheral and center of the circle. So when enemy ships on the west want to go east, in their first jump in they'll encounter defenses on the west side of the circle than defenses at the center before jumping to the next planet? Or they could move around the circle and avoid defenses in the center. This might be a good compromise. I would like to suggest something to be done wit
For every action there is an effect. Cause and effect that is the basis laws of physics and of life. This isn't the first time US looking for short term economic gain or political stability and neglect the suffering/human rights of the naive people of that country. The consequences of the actions NATO nations after WII on the middle east are presently coming to fruition. All actions have consequences...though they may be unknown at the time, they will always come to fruition in a year or in
