Use a colony frigate for TEC and Advent and scout frigate for Vasari. EDIT: Ooh, missed it by a minute. :) -HM

You can simply download the standalone one and install it, and it will overwrite any problems. No need to reinstall. The Impulse patch is back online as of a few days ago, which I just updated to late last night. We'll see later today or tomorrow if that screwed anything up. :) -HM

GalCiv2 is only $9.90 at Gogamer.com for the next few days, so you can get it on the cheap (this is the original game, so it doesn't include the Dark Avatar expansion): [link="http://www.gogamer.com/Galactic-Civilizations-2--Dread-Lords_stcVVproductId5589779VVviewprod.htm"]Linky for GalCiv2 on the cheap![/link] -HM

Again, what's the error message and when are you getting it? As soon as you try to login to ICO with your password? -HM

What's the error message you get? Are you sure you have the latest version of Sins? That's usually the main culprit behind people not being able to connect to ICO. The port forwarding should only be needed for hosting a game (but you aren't even that far). -HM

This is such a non-issue it's hard for me to believe it's hit two pages. First, updating via SDC (and now Impulse, since they have a fixed file up) works pretty well. Second, for those who don't like auto-update, you can easily download it as a standalone exe from this website. If for whatever reason you're having an account problem, email support and they'll straighten you out. Third, the current standalone patch has made its way (like the last one) to places like Fi

Ok, I guess you've gone to his overall network guide, not the Sins specific one. I'm going to leave it to him as to why you're using this guide. Because I would think in at least 8 cases out of 10, simply forwarding TCP ports 6000 and 6112 to your local machine will do the trick for hosting a game. And in most other cases, the whole "cascading NAT" thing is the culprit (I would've never known some cable/DSL modems had routing features; go figure). -HM

Mine was a bit loose, so be sure to scour the box contents to ensure it didn't fall off and get stuck to something else. If not, then yeah, what kryo said. -HM

LRMs don't do worse than 75 damage on anything (does 100% or over on v. light armor thru medium), whereas flak does only 25% damage against medium armor and up. -HM

I'm not sure what you're looking at. Mine is clearly labeled "PC SINS SOLAR CODE STKR". -HM

It sounds like the sales are a comin', since both Best Buy and Amazon had it on sale last week at $30. You cannot go wrong on this game at $30. -HM

No problem. It may help to also send them a dxdiag report of the PC that crashed (in case it ends up being a hardware or driver issue). They might also want a game replay. They got back to me fast; good luck! -HM

I'm a big fan of Stardock (I own all the GalCiv stuff, and preordered the GalCiv2 expansions), but I am "thrifty", so I couldn't stomach the $10 shipping on the box. There's a part of me that wishes I had though; a printed tech tree and keycard would've been nice to have. Of course I wish a CE version was available in stores...then I could've had the extra content w/o paying the $10 shipping. Ah well, it's all a weighing of pros and cons at any given point in time. I'll undoubtedly p
