Well, this usually happens when you use a map placed in the galaxy folder under either: Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ and not in the galaxy folder in the place where the game got installed. If this is not the case, it's probably because you've either tweaked the GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef
Anyone know why?
Apart from not having set the 1 in the version number, no clue. But if you're sure everything is correct with your map, you could upload it so we could take a look at it and try it too.
Looks pretty, those new booms. ;) The only suggestion I have, is to make the explosions (especially the TEC nukes) last longer. I never liked it that the explosion cloud vanished so fast. So if it is in your abilities, if you could make them last about twice as long as now, I would be happy. (Only the explosion cloud, not just make the explosion slower.) :)
You need Adama Repack Mod for this map to work Installation instructions are included in the file (link in the post header above), but basically you just need to place the files inside the Adama Repack Mod folder and then play the map (called CampMap01) in the game. -------------- Important issues with the map <br
/steaming
I'll take black tea, please. ------------- Honestly, it sounds like you had some bad luck. When doing a FFA, the easiest way to ally is to do the early missions of giving credits and resources as fast as possible. That way I'm usually able to ally with at least one AI after about 15min game time. Just try again. :HOT:
Could Sins have gotten higher scores if it had waited another six months and incorporated a single player campaign, stronger AI and more content? Probably.
Even higher scores? Wouldn't that be, sort of nearly mathematical impossible? ;)
I would be content with fixed starting positions and being able to name races in the map definitions. For the moment, that is...
Thx kryo. Didn't know that. :SURPRISED:
1. Yes 2. Doubling afaik. But look at the planet info card for details. 3. One is usually enough.
Is it possible to change the z axis position for planets etc?
No.
so what exactly is different between medium and hard?
Better AI algorithms. I.e. on hard the AI doesn't retreat that fast and shouldn't retreat from it's homeworld, for example.
Try Hard. The AI only gets a +100% economic bonus on unfair. So playing hard the AI is still fair.
and it should not be taught as proof that there is no creator. When you start teaching it as proof of a Godless universe, you are teaching a religious viewpoint, and supposedly that is not allowed in public schools.
When did it ever got thought like that? Please, no straw man arguments. I need that straw for the animals. ;)
Does anyone has any luck with loading a map from the custom galaxy folder (the one under user/stuff, not the one in the game itself) without the game going insta-defeat? I just tried to place some maps into the galaxy folder for testing purposes and it didn't worked. (The maps are fine btw. they work in the normal sins galaxy folder in the game folder itself.)
Ok, the mistake you made is simple. You have the numbering of the planets wrong. Planet numbering works the following: Star 0 Planet 0 Planet 1 Star 1 Planet 0 Planet 1 Planet 2 Planet 3 Star 2 Star 3 Planet 0 Planet 1 So on each planet, the numbering begins new at 0. So, the first idea you had is correct. But you need to do the numbering as I show above, then everything will work out great. :)
Something in the game brings down even modern CPUs
Amount of units and AI. Oh, and malice is bugged at the moment. It brings every computer to a screeching halt when used on large fleets. But that isn't your problem, I guess.
Can you upload your map? Makes it easier to search for mistakes. :)
There is no evidence of macroevolution since mankind has been in existence. Without definite proof of it taking place, evolution can never be proved to be the 100% cause of all lifeforms seen today.
Yeah, you can't also prove gravity 100%, or did you let fall everything all the time? No, I don't think so. We don't "prove" things in science. We only hypothesize, then experiment and finally theorize. No proving in there.
Having stu
@Carbon016 Great posts. I congratulate your stomach to argue with the believers. I never have the stamina to not got angry about them. ;)
does not equal dolphin-to-bird evolution
Dolphin to bird? Really? You're sure about the order?
So, is evolution *really* science like many badly want to make others believe, or is it a theory of origins - just like intelligent design?
The theory of evolution (ToE) is science. And it has
I am playing TEC. The icon did not show up on my colonizer Capital ship so I build a standard colonizer and it showed up ok. The icon space to the right of my capital ship colonizer was blank. I will check to see if it has the required antimatter. There is another small field to check this out on, but it will have to wait as it is through a Pirate lair.
Capital ships don't have the ability to crew derelict mining stations. All the icon space on your capital ships will be
I suppose there isn't any way to do so. I thought I would get an answer fairly quickly in such crowded forums... Which is mostly the case. But since I see nothing here it appears to me that there isn't any way to install mods only 1 time instead of 3 times.
Yeah, if there was a way (and there isn't one) you would have gotten an answer pretty fast, I think. :/ Btw. for the problem, you can blame the stupid Games for Windows requirements MS made.
Take a look at [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/308726"]this excellent thread[/link]. It covers the basic, I think. ;)
AFAIK, yes. The account is bound to the cd-key.
My wrt54g has no gaming mode. But I can port forward. But since thats just for hosting. So, what can I try ?
Try it. It may not help, but it wont hurt either (except wasting your time if it doesn't work ;) ).
Could I still go on ICO with this and play with people unmodded?
Nope. In multiplayer games, all player needs the same game version and mod version.
Give me a day or two and i'm gonna come out with 1.04b which has them merged. Maybe even today...
Ah, today would be great. I could need it before I start a new 500 planet game. :)
