One thing I've found is that while the essence factor limits ICS at the start of a game, once your borders are well expanded, you can build on good terrain without worrying about essence. One possible solution to this is to have prestige take a hit when near other prestigious cities. Why should I go and live there when there's a better city over there? We finally have our election tomorrow. I'm curious to know, what are the thoughts of people around the world? Who do you want to win? In Britain the Conservatives (main opposition) dominate the newspapers and have huge amounts of money yet still aren't winning convincingly. Yet Labour's vote seems to be collapsing anyway, quite a bit of it to the third party Lib Dems.

Pyromancer, that was a bit tactless. The point is that posts like this have a tendency to crash stuff and are hard to read, Since it's only the dxdiag and you've linked to the others, should be ok. Can you give some indication of what you were doing when the crashes occured?

Coming to this a little late, but... I would still prefer the lore factions. I wouldn't take too much from that poll, because a) The people who beta test are more likely to play custom stuff and b ) The factions aren't specifically fun to play yet as the lore isn't there. I played GalCiv 2 for years and have only played with custom races a handful of times.

I think Brad may have mentioned this. Suggestion: Allow Pioneers to build beacons on mountains (with some later tech) with big visibility ranges. Also give watchtowers on hills bigger ranges

They are reopening it. So that means everyone. Do note though that you will be charged as soon as you download (so people don't sneak a free game before cancelling their order). It's also not that fun at the moment, rubbish graphics (the main engine is disabled until they sort out gameplay) and crashes galore. If you don't beta test you won't be charged yet.
