Should shields work this way just for one race and not another?
P5y
all I know is im for the shield system. I dont understand it but from what I gather... - it will make battles look better , if more ships get damaged - dont need to do the whole homeworld pop a single ship micro all the time if its better to just shoot at multiple ships.
I dont think Shields being stronger as they get reduced will effect gameplay one bit. Relatively speaking , you will still need x number of laser shots to eventaully break down a shield to cause hull damage. A shield that stays the same strength will still need a certain x number of laser shots to eventually break down a shield. All you really see is a Shield bar that measures shield strength in reverse Logrimithic so people just have to work it out. the only other thing I can think off
Ok heres a big suggestion , that might work... Ive noticed that ships in your fleet are listed. However all it tells you is who has the bigger fleet.. One suggestion , is to list ships within engagement distance and those that arent , seperately. When you select on the ships that are not within engagement distance , you can order them to go into engagement distance. You can even order engaging ships to retreat or be evasive , and you can see them slowly moving to the non-en
the planets on the galaxy map dont look right is it just me or do they seem a bit too big and cartoony? theya re a little dissapointing compared to the zoomed in view they seem to be a little out of proportion everything else looks great Yes agreed. Some of my suggestions.... 1> The unknown planets shouldnt be represented by a grey ball , it just makes the galaxy look like it has many big grey planets. I would suggest black spheres wit
Can Multiplayer games be saved? and if so , can this be a way to swap in and out players. For example , I give my savegame file to another player , and he carries on with my race. I know the faq says you cant join a game halfway through.
From looking at those Kol Battleships , the range of weapons fire is very long which is very realistic. Great to see!
Girls cant find the directions to the enemy base - they suck at rts!
2 Years ago I would never have thought I say this Im using Supreme Commander as a stopgap for Sins of a solar empire. Also Im not going to beta , as my connection is too slow to dl the beta anyway , so im gonna buy the game instore. But all you awaiting the beta ..please please make frap videos and take screenies
Anyone else think the asteroid icons are a bit wierd?
I read that AI controlled fleets but will never outperform a Human. In one sense this can a major headache for players who want to do everything. They know that they must overclick everywhere inorder to get the best out of thier empire or else they have this feeling that they could have done better and its only game limitiations that have limited them. But then I read a reference that if you are the ruler like emperor palpatine , then obviously you wont be controlling all the battles. <
Get all the chikens back here !! I miss the way of the BAWWWWK!!!
I dont mind if this game is more like a war RTS , or a diplomatic/war RTS , aslong as its a good game , im fine with it. If it is diplomatic however , lets say 50% of the game can be diplomatic and trade related , its important to express that in the game. As it is , ive seen alot of warships and thats telling me , if your a warfarer you will love this game. If your more diplomatic , will you have as much fun? The fun could be determined if the game has ships and stuff dedicate
I like the races info page , the ships look neat
Lharrs post is a good one. With Sins , its pretty important that Quality of commands is the Bottleneck , not Quantity of commands. You suck because the quality of your commands suck ,not because you didnt "click fast enough"
I just did some rough quick calculations... If Earth was 1cm in diameter , i.e picture a marble and imagine you have zoomed out and that is earth , another planet would be about 60 metres away.
They toook maaa jeeaab!
I think people will accept that non-moving turrets is a good compromise to keep CPU load down. Most games are put-offs because of performance more then anything..cough..sup..cough..com.
Ok , this might just put the CPU on total overload , but it would be a nice touch to have civilian ships flying around under nobodies control , and starbases just to make it feel like you are protecting a civilisation and not just resources to make more units. Maybe something like that in the campagin would be nice. Or even a RPG mode button..to disable and enable random civ ships
How many TECs does it take to change a lightbulb? Unknown , TEC lightbulbs never break How many Advent does it take to change a lightbulb? None , their ships have a natural glow How many Vasari does it take to change a lightbulb? You kiddin? , they dont call their fleet "The Dark Fleet" for nothing
I would probably crash my car if I saw that.
My questions were more on the lines off ... Sins of a solar empire is a great game , do you have anymore screenshots ?
Once you get the beta , you can take as many screenshots as you want!
Ok make up as many Soase jokes as you can !! heres my cringe worthy efforts What did Blair Fraser do when he wanted to sell his ships? He went to a star dock What is the TECs favorite Scifi? TECWars <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
Considering that the beta might be unoptimised , what are going to be the minumum spec to make the game playable to test?
