Hey Guys, been busy and haven't posted in awhile, but just loaded Stardock Central from scratch and downloaded Beta 2, and can't play now. Haven't had issues not being able to run the game before this, and if I did have a problem, a crashdump was created. This time around, I make it all the way to the main page to create a single player game and it locks up before I can click anything. All that happens is a stuck sound loop and the only way to break out of it is by pushing my PC's reset button.

Something I'd like to see is to be able to make custom games with the option to choose the types of planets you want. Msybe a slider with % of gas, arid, ringed, etc...

I assume it would be the "peacemaker" upgrade on the cruiser. Yes? Actually, it's the "Armistice" upgrade and it can be turned off (right-click it in its window).

It isn't more micro trust me all you have to do is select the new group then shift+"your group number you want them to be add to" and your cake is done. For me, what you're suggesting works fine on a few ships and I'll probably use it for those situations...In my EPIC battles that would be a pain in the ass. The main point o

fyi you can use shift+ a number to add the ships to the battlegroup w/o select THE whole group. Just thinking about doing that (even MORE micro-management), made my carpal tunnel flare up! HEHE

Schem - I honestly don't think you're ever going to be happy with anything that we do. Every forum has at least one person that can't be pleased...Must be an unspoken requirement dictated by the Universe! (Omnipotent being sees newly created forum pop-up on the net, assigns random monkey with BIG wrench for "maintainance" duties! No offense to

I've noticed with my large fleet (12 caps + many misc frigs), when I band everything into ctrl-group 1 (including the 56 advanced fighter/bomber wings), that once a squadron is lost and replaced, it's not part of the ctrl-group anymore. This is annoying, as it makes me have to constantly "add" the new wings, during my large battles (one MORE unnecessary micro-management duty). Has this been discussed before? I would really like the fighter/bomber wings created by the carriers, to inherit the ctr

Since Yarlen wanted us to ponder those new screehshots, I've taken a second to. Did you guys notice the hyper-space portal in the shot on the right? I also noticed the lack of space lane lines and grav well circle/grid in the other (could just be the angle the shot was captured though)... I really like the dark, menancing look to the "other" race/faction. I wanna play with those guys!

OR.... Hey another possible solution to the debate (sorry everyone, HEHE!)... Let's say faction A wants to phase jump to faction C, but another faction (B) is in between...Since we're supposed to be dealing with "3D space", why would the Capt. plot his course through enemy territory? To solve this maybe: 1. Systems need to be spaced randomly around all three axis (x,y, and z) 2. The phase lanes still determine which directions you can go only (yeah, it's artificial

I'm playing a game with locked teams at the moment. One of my allies and I controlled almost all of one system, and I was moving my fleets to finish off the last remaining enemy home world. To get there, the fastest route was through my ally's territory. While en route to the enemy, my ally says this: "Keep your forces away from Daedalus or pay the price." He also brought his entire fleet back from his campaign in the other system, just to make thi

...nor would the vast majority of players consent to pausing an RTS in multiplayer to issue orders. Sounds like a Poll question to me! Although...I do agree with you Yarlen! (slim runs and hides)

What I don't like about allying is granting them safe passage in my space. I like the trading aspect, but because of how wishy-washy they are (breaking alliances on a whim), if they move over into a new galaxy with me, I end up having to fight them back. In the long run, it would have been better to NOT ally with them, so I could eXpand in peace!

I think it's a neat feature, but it would be nice to be able to shut it off. Wait, can you shut it off? The main benefit it has is it allows your fleet to auto-repair and/or a chance to get to the edge of the grav well, for a hasty retreat. The problem is when your blasting the enemy and it goes off, I don't want my enemy to start auto-repairing!

I assume it would be the "peacemaker" upgrade on the cruiser. Yes? OK...note to self...skip that upgrade!

@Blair - the stonewall comment was really meant as a light hearted joke. If you guys took it otherwise you have my apology. @TGE - I happen to really like "business" oriented forums, especially for something as important as a beta test. I guess it it because when I try to make a joke it always comes across as a serious comment. But hey I have tried to make light hearted comments in recent posts although I'm not sure sure they came across as intended (see abov

What causes the cessation of fighting (white star-like icon below every ship)? Is it an upgrade I have or are the BCs causing this? It's rather annoying having to wait x amount of seconds for it to wear off, multiple times until I'm done destroying everything...

I must make a correction, there's 32+ in this picture...HEHE! (My uber l337 fleet is in blue, made short work of this planet!)

Allow me to rephrase: Don't expect daily new builds or new builds every couple days like before. They'll be issued when Ironclad has stuff that needs testing. HEHE! You have to watch very closely what you say on these forums, as there's a few "testy" fellows onboard! LOL!

For the main purpose of this Beta 1, what kind of statistics has IC collected thus far? There hasn't been too many bugs reported to date and I haven't seen any performance threads pop-up (other than the one I posted that has since fizzled). Out of the total number of paying testers, did IC get all the info they wanted? I'd venture to guess 85% of the "feedback" IC has gotten back has been gameplay and barely any performance data (unless they are secretly gathering data while we play...hehe).<br/

If you encounter a minidump from a crash, are you supposed to email it in? I could have sworn I was asked if it (the game) was OK for it to send the dump. Also, I appearently had a previous minidump, but don't recall getting a message for that one. I will email them in, if need be. I think my issue now is hardware limitations. My AMD 4000+ (single core) is the bottleneck now. Since there's an ungodly amount of "units" in my current game, I think my CPU is getting hammered. Has
