Ahem, since all aspects of the user interface in this game needs to be as good as possible to manage the size of this game, I think you should turn "Auto Join Fleet" off for ships/frigates built. Even better, make it so that each frigate/capital factory has an tactical menu for adjusting the tactical standpoint in the ships being built. ! EDIT: Now stop it, I will go totally apeshit if my fleets are moving parts of itself into unfavorable posit

Ok, I copied all files from the "Gameinfo" and replaced the "gameplay.constants" file with my version, but activating the mod does not change the icons draw distance scale. What have I done wrong, or what am I missing? (:( Edit: Ahh, I got it ^^. I just had to copy/create the "Gameinfo" folder into my mod folder, and then put my modified "gameplay.constants" file in there. Thanks Carbon016 ;). Now, can anyone please tell me how to make this mod work online w
I'll do it but I doubt it'll work online. It'd probably be easier just to do it yourself though, throw it along with the rest of the files in /gameinfo/ under your mod name.
OK, ill try that, but is there no way to make it work online without everyone having it (with that I assume that it would work to play multiplayer if everyone had it)?
... I have the file ready if anyone would like to make it for me. Thanks for reading.
I want to make a mod out of the "Gameplay.Constants" file where I have changed the distance at which icons hit in for ships/fighters/buildings which I can use online with regular gamers (which don´t have this modified icon draw distance) and activate in mod manager. How do I do? :( Im going out to buy, so I´ll be back in like 1 hour.
Wow not another unstoppable thing. Think we are up to like 10 unstoppable things! I wonder how one unstoppable thing does against another!
Things arent unstoppable in this game! :p
Word up! I would like to tear through some bombers! I hope you are absolutely 100% sure that they are underpowered, but is it severe? Am I waisting credits on flaks which I whould use on mobile hangars? Btw, is bomber the same as squadron in the end game stats? I only see information for fighters and "squadrons".
The "AA" is weak? :/
Congratulations, I think it is a long time ago since a strategy game got this good reviews! ^^ Remember to give us good patches1 ;p
So which one is the draw distance for building icons? :CONGRAT: EDIT: It was "planetModuleRadiusMultiplier"! Try it out, it really paid off for me ^^.
Edit: Done, ^^! Edit "VisibilityDistanceData" in the "gameplay.constants" file found in the "GameInfo" folder. Edit for frigate and squadron icons. ^^ frigateRadiusMultiplier *** fighterRadiusMultiplier **** maxFighterMeshDistanceToCamera **** Q: Will I be able to join regular multiplayer games where others don´t have a modified gameplay.constants file? :)
Now I have version 1.2 what setting am I supposed to modify, if I want to change when the ship icons hit in, in the gameplay.constants file? ^^
Actually, all icons kick in too early for me :(. Can´t we get an option for scaling when the icons hit in when zooming out (and a seperate scale bar for fighters/bombers icons?)? It is actually really anoying, and im sure it would be highly appriciated to put these options in the game, as I for one belive that you have too zoom too far in to watch the battle in details (=without icons). I play on 1600X1200 and I have no performance issue turning the icons off, but playing only with ownership ico
nice ^^
Longer distance before fighters/bombers change into icons. ^^-*
Makes sense, labs make advanced parts and ships it. Labs spread out means not all will go in 1 punch ;p
Seriously, they do kick in too early when you zoom out. I would them to have about the same zoom distance as Capital ships when it comes to changing to icons. Could anyone please make a mod for this that could be used in multiplayer? And would Stardock consider making the distance at which they change into icons a bit longer? thanks! :)
A 3 stage research upgrade for slowing enemy phase jumps down between your planet, and a 3 stage high level research for holding enemies completely (10 seconds for each upgrade) and warning you about enemies trying to phase jump through your planets (through the "Threat Report"), as I suggested, is ideal to make as an starting point for rebalancing the PJI as far as I can tell(and also makes the PJI "super" to use in the later stage of a game, be it a medium or large map).
Another PJI issue, but I would say fighters are the best solution, though they should get something like 4x damage against those speed rabbits!
