As great as this is, it won't see widespread use for a long time. On top of the cost-per-unit, trying to train every nurse/provider (many of whom are not very tech-savvy) how to operate one of those is not the easiest thing to do.

Rebellion will have everything. I guess it depends on whether or not you want to wait until the end of the year or not. If you get Trinity, you will be able to get $10 off Rebellion. Or you can preorder Rebellion, but it won't be out until close to the end of the year or later, though the beta for it will start earlier (and preordering will give you access). The choice is yours :)
What I did not like most on combat in DAO was how the combatants were running around each other like crazy chicken. You tried to form a protective line of warriors, but the enemies just jogged between them and all whacked your mage.
You will run into the same issue in DA2. The good thing is, you get Taunt very early on so with good positioning you can keep things off your mage. Like Xia said, tactics were pretty important

If you thought DA:O combat was chaotic (I disagree on that, but..), then DA2's combat would be more so. They made everything faster, and at least in the beginning it seems that you face a lot more enemies at once in general. I started on Nightmare difficulty (highest possible) and had several tough fights already that required several reloads. I've only gotten as far as the demo took us (minus stuff with Isabella, that was a continuity break), but the Ogre fight was pretty tactical as
Quoting Annatar11, reply 28I think DX10 will largely be skipped over completely, since DX11 just builds off it and already there are probably more (or as many) games with DX11 support than DX10 Most DX11 games support 10. Hell, Lost Planet 2 is the only one that doesn't afaik. 11 and 10 are similar to code for afaik.
That's pretty much what I meant. 11 builds on 10, so it makes more sense for develop
Hopefully we'll be able to change the camera distances in a ".ini" file somewhere.
Alas, the only .ini I was able to find doesn't have any more options than the configuration utility itself. It's possible more will be created when the game is first run, we'll have to see I guess.
In DA:O every environment had to be "sliced off" at the top to achieve the iso view. They said that was limiting what they could do with the environments so they ditched it in

Not really.. I've got a pair of GTX 285s in SLI and there's not been a single game that even forced me to turn SLI on :P Will see how it looks, I'm more concerned about the particle effects (spells) than textures atm. The demo's fire effects were rather lacking when compared to DA:O :P

Well, the max speed reduction is only I think 5-6 km/s or so, not too big of a deal. The way these maps are, it's very rare for any heavy tank to actually reach max speed, there are always hills to climb and very few maps have slopes down or level field long enough to accelerate to the max :P The mantlet was supposed to be improved in this last patch, but they decided to do it on the Maus first to see the impact.. so I dunno. Hopefully!

I was getting worried that the DA2 preload is a only a bit more than half than DA:O (5gb down from 9). At least this texture pack will bring it up to a respectable amount :P Good find, thanks! I'll have to download it at home tonight so I don't waste time tomorrow instead of playing. Even though I don't have a DX11 card, should still see an improvement I imagine.
It sounds like the UI may have been pushed to a Mass Effect 2 style - Minimalized with skills perhaps appearing with a menu that you can get to when you pause the game with a hotkey? I wasn't even thinking about it coming out. I haven't even bought it. I was a Dragon Age Collector Edition purchaser, but i didn't buy Awakening or anything beyond that first one. The game was decent and I didn't trust the DLC's. But then

Well, there is a "demo", but it won't show you much in terms of content. You get the tutorial and the first mission, so you can see how it plays but it's incredibly limited. It's odd that they don't have a free 7-day or something trial, it's pretty common for the older MMOs to start offering those. http://www.startrekonline.com/demo

I got work :( But I'm on call today and if it gets bad overnight (which is very rare, but possible), then I'd have an excuse to stay home tomorrow :P

Well, the main problem is you pay someone to play your LoL account and get you to high ELO ranking. Then you play a game and completely screw over your team because you're terrible and should be nowhere near that ELO. If it only affected the player doing it I could care less, but in team games when you screw over your team because you suck and just paid someone to get you there.. :/

Hey folks, EA sent me a couple beta keys for this weekend's Darkspore beta test event. I believe they will let you into any betas down the road as well, though release is in a couple weeks. In any case, I don't need the keys so if you're curious about the game and want to take a look, just post here and I'll PM you the key and registration instructions. I have 2 keys, first come first serve!
