I'm willing to throw in my support for whatever codewise and scriptwise things we can do. >.>

I'm running an Athlon 64 X2, 2gb of ram, and an Nvidia 8500GT. In beta, I'm playing at 1280x1024 with the highest resolution textures and all the effects turned on. I don't think I've ever dropped below 25 fps. Sins is ridiculously resource-efficient for how good it looks.

You bombard the planet's infrastructure, and then you can move in and colonize it as if it had been empty before. Unless, that is, there's culture in play.

Then we can laugh at them for not getting it, and develop a beta tester clique that sees itself as rightly superior to anyone who bought the game after it was actually released. It'll be great!

If the flying-out-of-gravwell-to-attack-civvie-ships bug hasn't been fixed yet, I did some testing when I came across it. If it has, then disregard this. :P Embargo seems to be a great way of causing it: merchants from the current system will sometimes try to leave (maybe if they're already at the phase-jump part of the gravity well? I'll need to test further). There was at least one incidence of a merchant from another system trying to fly through normal space to get to the embargoed s
If its the Vasari one (I can't remember which one has the phase out ability...) it'd make perfect sense for the ship to be able to re-orient, or even move, while under its influence... (While I buy phase-out preventing the ship from being fired on or firing, preventing it from moving seems... odd.)
The action/reaction thing from the ship's engines exists entirely in the phased-out section of space. In the real physical we're-/rea

Re: Antorak gate. I did some testing on this in my game. The gate is two ways--that is, ships can jump to the Antorak, and ships can jump away from it. However, the Antorak itself can't use its own gate to jump away--if it moves, the ability turns off.

What it should do is zoom to cursor unless there's a unit double-click-focused. I like zooming to my cursor when I'm going between systems. I don't like zooming to my cursor when I'm trying to see something in particular. >.>

If someone wants to set up some games I could try starting a Hamachi server. Not sure if it'll work, though, due to firewall thingies.

Regarding your point on lasers, the TEC, being the low-tech emergency military that it is, is not generally a laser faction, hence why lasers only have two levels of upgrades to the... larger number for missiles and autocannon. The Vasari and/or Advent will probably make use of lasers more.

Well, you're a beta tester. You should expect to lose a game every now and then.

For #1 in suggestions: there's a button at the top of the screen that changes the zoom setting from center of the screen to the mouse pointer. For #6 in gameplay: research the 'long range phase jumps' technology in the Empire tree.
