Melric: Vista 64 + Nvidia card (often 78XX, 79XX, 8800 series) = trouble. Check out this thread. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=408&aid=174838 It sounds like you are a victim of this problem, which apparently NVidia is looking at.

Ok sorry, here is how you do it. 1) Go to your Start Menu and hit Run 2) Type "cmd". It should open up a dos (black) window. It will show you where you are. 3) Go back up the tree to c:\ by typing "cd..". 4) When you are in c:\, then navigate to where you installed the game (probably C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire) by using "cd [directoryname]" probably you will have to type "cd Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sin
Click on it and look at the little orange and black striped button at the bottom center of the HUD. It lets you scuttle things.
I think it's
it looks like you have some old files in there - were you in the beta? can you go into that directory and do a "dir /s > output.txt", and then send the output file to ?
a'll need to break my leg so I can find the time to play!
It can be arranged... are you closer to the Stardock or Ironclad office?
It's a nice word that you can type fast.
I wouldn't worry about it. The listing on the US site only went up a few weeks ago.
What OS do you have? It's usually somewhere in local settings/application data/ obvious from there.
This is likely the nvidia driver issue. But send the savegame, exception, and anything you have to . Also try playing with your in-game graphics settings, see this thread: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=408&aid=174838#1443619 Thanks!
You can add wormhole connections by putting a phase lane between two wormholes, then selecting it, and setting the type to "Wormhole". Grasfer: No there isn't at the moment, sorry. And no, the design name is only for GalaxyForge. If you don't set an in game name it will randomly assign one. Leon: That feature hasn't been added to GalaxyForge yet. If you're feeling hardcore, open the Voruk's Labyrinth map in a text editor and look at the bottom where it adds interstar connect
No they're not. That's odd. Did you change any of the skybox settings? (in Effects I think).
It's the bump mapping. The higher it is, the spiffier your ships will look. (But they will always be 3d models.)
Yes, you can redownload. No there isn't a limit. The download speed varies from person to person. Some people were complaining it was too slow (15 kb/s) and some people were getting insanely fast speeds (2000 kb/s ++)
That sucks Gauntlet... I assume you tried all those things too?
That's the one. It might be rebindable *scratches head*
Ctrl Shift Z if the cinematic mode isn't enough.
Yes, the tech-tree is totally mod-able.
The pause button :P most keyboards have it hidden somewhere in the upper right of your keyboard
I think the launch widget only exists for boxed copies. It's just a slightly different install/startup process.
Hey Multi... nice to see you! Chaplin-X, multi is correct. The best thing to do is to go back to an autosave that you all have, one that was saved before the crash.
Hmm... that's not good. Have you tried to see if turning off music or effects helps at all?
Yep... play around with it a little and see how it goes. Enigma: There isn't a nice way (yet... we'll probably add this as it seems pretty handy), but if you were trying to play a 2 vs 8 with the AI, then try putting your two human players on a team. Then you should start off in the right spots.
Do you guys have this problem when you're looking at infocards too? That would suggest the text-rendering is part of the problem.
Hey Dustinja, Have a look at this thread, it might give you some of what you're looking for, particularly Blair's posts. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?aid=174192#1438434
