It was originally that way... but it got too confusing/irritating.

Dr. Gonzo ftw.

Hey guys, Thanks for the info... have you all tried dropping your detail a bit and seeing if that helps?
Pill7, there is a bit of a pause before the SD logo, have you tried just waiting? Davy, have you tried turning off the intro movies? (user.setting file -> ShowIntroMovies FALSE)
Mouse over your credits count at the top when you are zoomed out and you will see a white line displaying your longest trade route. (You have to have adjacent trade ports to count as part of the longest route).
Not sure if it made it into this patch... if not, the next one for sure.
Yes. Having multiple trade ports at the same planet increases your income, but not quite as much as having them at other planets.
also, use google with "site:sinsofasolarempire.com" for searching...
Ok, apparently this is fixed in the patch which Frogboy spoke of. And I didn't have to do nuffin. Briefly, the "copy whole folder" issue: at a low level, the engine separates things into folders... if it finds the GameInfo folder, it will pull everything from that folder. (Rather than loading specific files, it enumerates the files in the folder and loads them) To change the engine to handle pulling things from two different folders and deciding what to do if there's a conflict is no
Hi stonedagain, Sorry to hear that. You might want to play around with your detail settings (all "high") just to see if that helps. We'll look into your minidumps when we get them... Thanks!
You can't save AFTER he's left the game, because he won't save too, and so won't have the save file. You need to restart from the last autosave that he does have. Cheers
Ok, whew. This is fixed.
Wow, you guys are ahead of the curve. That'll be in the next version of GalaxyForge.
Hey Sha_Gojyo, If you do enough quests for your ally, you WILL be the guy telling him to run errands... he will attack and defend where you ask. If you don't like doing the quests while you are trying to learn the game, I suggest playing a locked teams game. Incidentally, all the quests should be able to be completed - if you get a quest to kill civilian ships and he doesn't have any, that would be a bug. Something you might want to try is watching what your ally is doi
They are the spaces that you need to build non-military structures. (You need tactical slots to build military structures) If you open the green "Develop planet" button on your planet you will see whether you can upgrade to get more slots or if you have maxed it out.
Ok, I'll see if I can figure out why it's not having any effect in the mod folder :( Fixes first, explanations later :P
Hey, did you remember to enable the mod? Did you remember to change the "first raid" time? It's different than the normal one.
You're right Stiler, there is definitely something weird going on there. Digging through it now...
Hey guys, There was a bug with this, nice find. It's fixed in the next patch (not too far off). Also, since there is no info out yet on how to do this - if you want to replace a file in the GameInfo folder, you will have to copy the whole folder as part of your mod, and change the specific file. There is a good reason for this, but it's fairly technical so I will spare you the explanation, unless you want it :P
Investigating...
Hey Trust, The AI doesn't gang up on you. They'll be fighting each other just as much. If you're having trouble with so many AIs, a good way to start off is to lock the teams and give yourself a couple of allies :)
It doesn't take that long to build up a fleet to fight militia if you take advantage of the "First Capital Ship Free" deal. Are you doing that?
This isn't possible at the moment, sorry.
