Wow, I like this on too! What/where is it and may we download it?
Internaught
Another option I'd like is to only Auto-Attack ships NOT in orbit. And also I'd like it to be a little more intelligent on just what ship it attacks...if it's obvious that the ship it attacks is going to win, then skip that ship. No need for intentional suicide. :)
I see the GCResource.RESOURCE files, but haven't seen a "tutorial" about it yet. Haven't tried messing with it yet for fear of "breaking" it...and I'm too busy playing to have to "fix" it. :)
I see no update at all??? :notsure:
OH! So my losing ability is only due to the current intelligence of the AI, not the intelligence of the building masses? :sniff!: Either gonna have to get smarter or practice a whole lot more. :)
** How many Drengins does it take to put in a lightbulb? Drengins don't change lightbulbs...they have slaves to do that. :)
Hmmm...wonder what would happen if you gave a Minor race planets out of their own system? Something I gotta try! :)
Galciv is so far one of the best at being what you describe...except the one thing I don't particularly like is the games ends when you reach one of the goals...I believe and wish it would mark the accomplishment, then ask if you'd like to continue playing or quit then. One of my BEST games was this last one...and at first I was thinking that it was going to be over quickly, for me anyway. The Altarians, with their holier than thou attitude, declared war on me very early and I had started off
I had a problem with the Multimedia installing. It downloaded but failed the installation at about 42%. I then uninstalled with Drengin so I wouldn't lose the download, and tried reinstalling with stardock and it still failed. The working method was uninstalling with stardock and then reinstalling. So I downloaded 325 Meg twice! Thank God for DSL! :o) Had no problems with the actual game files updating. New Intro Animation and Pre-game start anim was very cool. Worked fairly sm
I think autosurvey works just as it should...it basically stops surveying when no other anomalies are present so you can move it elsewhere yourself, or let it sit there until another anomaly emerges...otherwise you might not know it was just flitting about the universe doing nothing. Just my opinion... :)
I built one once...but never got to use it as the game was over before I needed to. And I've began them more than once but usually the game ends before I get a chance to build it. Does building it have any "threat" value over the AI's?
A minor bug just found... On opening screen just after doors open, if you hit exit, the game locks up, starbase anim stops playing and I had to go to task manager to shut it down.
I'm sorry, I meant the opening door anim. It is still a little choppy, but I attribute that to my machine. Just a little P3 650Mhz machine with a built in graphics card. But the change was noticeable with the Sat release.
For me the opening animation was much smoother. And the space bar bug appears to have been fixed as well.
Space bar appears to work if a ship is selected and you want to skip moving that ship that turn...otherwise I've been afraid to use it. :)
I was used to using the space bar to go to next turn, but I tried 2 times in the new beta and it immediately dropped me out of the game! :p I can still use it to skip ship movement, but when a ship isn't selected it appears to crash...did twice to me anyways. And holy moly, the Alterians found some major power source and I was warned that if they weren't taken out they would only get more powerfull, QUICKLY, as time went on. Suddenly, within 3-4 turns, they've colonized just about all t
Anyone ever left the UP? I see the option but haven't ever tried it.
About the recession...hang in there. I got one that seemed to last like 10-15 years! I got it fairly early in the game and it didn't go away for a long time. I also thought it was forgotten about since I had saved the game and quit and returned the next day. But it did eventually end.
Be careful when you use ctrl+N...i tried it after I played one turn because I didn't like where I was and I suddenly remembered the command...and it locked up. Have tried it since before the first turn and it did fine.
It has been rare that I've gotten one class 26 planet in the game...usually belongs to someone else and I have to take it from them. :) First game on 4Z and I've got 3 of 'em! Nice to have class 31 planets (after enhancement). Not right together mind you, but none of them were taken when I finally got to them. This is on Abundant setting, medium galaxy.
Perhaps rather than completely ending the game after a cultural win and so on, it could be announced that you have achieved that milestone, but give you an option to continue the game so you can reach the conclusion you desire.
Or maybe plans to allow you to upgrade older ships?
I second (or whatever) the motion to have an auto-explore. I use the Auto-survey all the time, now I would like to do the same with my scouts! :)
My first game in 4C was a small galaxy, with only Drengin for an opponent, and the only "good" planet reachable at first was already taken by a minor. So researched, as quick as I could, transports and took the sucker. Even after all that I got about 2/3 of the good planets in the galaxy before Drengin got there. In most other games I've played they get there before me, so it was a nice change. :)
