Hello Carbunkyl! Hey, good thinking there. I especially like the idea of a camouflaged ship joining the ranks of an enemy fleet. This could be awesome!

Hah! Let's take space ponies!!!!!
Hm, there have been already some suggestions on how to change the pirates. Let me add my two cents on it. After winning the betting game for the pirates, you are allowed to control them for a certain period of time. That way, you can select the most important target for yourself. And, it has been mentioned before: perhaps it would be a good idea if the pirates could be ordered to attack traders. Each destroyed trader substracts a certain amount of money from the target's bank
I don't really like the random events idea, however. I forsee a lot of frustration from people because they got unlucky and a supernova vaporized their entire fleet.
Hello kyogre! Well, perhaps those random events should not be too overpowered... I guess you are right. But how about the following: A solar flare reduces the shields of all ships in a special region by 80%. Sth like that would have consequences on your play style. Is your race focusing more on armo

I think, you have to right click the blue stardock orb and check the relevant box. Then you should be able to download it. Cheers
Lots of great ideas guys! Keep them coming!
Here you go, everyone! That's what I like about Ironclad & Stardock! They are listening to the community... Ok, I love the ideas posted here. A:Some random events a là GalCivII would be cool (could mean sth like a star is about to become a supernova, destroying the closets planets in the process; an alien artifact is entering the system and the one who contr
and I almost forgot: events (scriptable and random for storytelling)
Hehe, that would be cool. Perhaps with a campiagn editor... But this would be a major thing... I guess, if it comes at all, we'll find it in the 3rd "surprise" expansion... But definitaly a great idea...
1: Trading planets/ships between players Sth like a trading system would be nice. You can give planets or ships to other players. I don't know if tech trading should be allowed. If so, a lot of players will have the exact same mixed techs at the end of a large game... No, I don't think tech trading is a good idea, it would just blur the feeling of the different races... 2: Spying/sabotage A spying system would be cool. You could sabotage the assembly of an enemy capita
Well, the title says it all. We know that the 2nd expansion is focused on the non military aspect of the game and that the mission system to keep your allies will get a major overhaul. Ironclad seems to have started working on it, thus let's give them some of the community's ideas.
I just loved Medieval I... I had my trouble with the patches in Medieval II. it took ages for them to be installed. But all in all a great game, if you have time to get into the mechanics... And Empire just looks awesome...
Hey, here's my type of man! Cheers to you!
By the way: If you don't like playing with being ordered around, you can always enable fixed allies...
Oh damn! I see... Armageddon, here is a slight problem... I am posting from the Sins forum. It has a black background and your writing is... well... in black... I just realized that you wrote sth at all... One can't really read it from this forum (had to highlight your text with with the mouse to see sth at all...)... What forum are you posting from? I'll copy paste your text for the other's to read: <span sty
same here. sometimes all stardock linked forums are inaccesible (Galciv, sins, demigod, elemental...)
Wow... Sounds pretty cool. I am curious about the way the mines will work, now. Sins is getting better and better... Congrats, guys
Interesting concept. I think there should be something like that in the game. Like everybody else said, you wouldn't just sit there and wait for your demise. You would fight back, launching everything you have against them. And another thing, if this were an actual situation, all goverments would not only fortify the space around a planet, they would also add at least some weapons to the surface.
Yeah, I ca
There would also be divinity 2: http://www.divinity2.com/
It looks pretty cool! Reminds me of Baldur's Gate
And here is another anouncement I found: Venetica. Did not hear about it before just stumbled over it by accident. But the youtube video looks like fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk3ddTV_Imo.
Then, there would be another two RPGs worth checking out: The Witcher and Sacred 2. Both can be downloaded via Impulse. However, check the forums before you really get them. At least Sacred 2 has some major bug problems. Looks nice, though
You're welcome! The nice thing about this game is that it seemes to be very stable and nearly bugfree (according to the reviews). There is going to be a couple of patches, which are focusing on adding new content and improving AI. And an Addon is in making...
GHenrikG already mentioned Drakensang, that despite being a serious game recieves very little attention. I'm going to stock it up to it being German. There's just something 'off' about most German produced games for some reason. Got no idea why.
Actually, you have a point there. There are some good games coming from germany (FarCry, Crysis, Gothic, Settlers etc), but very often they don't make it internationally. http://members.chello.at/theodor.lauppert/games/g
Ok, so Ive given this some thought and maybe the best way to deal with the starbases lack of range it reduce the phase jump lanes. Arent they are 40 degrees now? Why not reduce them to 25 degrees. That way you can park a starbase right in the way and they can not jump around it with out it shooting.
How about being able to deploy long range detectors for starbases within a grav well? Give a star base three to four of those scanners which can be placed anywhere in the gr
Man, perhaps it could be sold via Impulse!
