Maybe the 512 mb ram on Vista was the reason... I might try it again. It should be somewhere in my closet... ever since I got my 2 gigs, I have been running my games much better. I even tried City of Villains and EVE, though EVE is hard.

My games! Most fun ones: Battle for Middle Earth (simple, fun, easy to learn and play game) Sins of a Solar Empire (If I didn't like it, would I be here?) Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne (Not the actual game, but the map-making community is quite helpful and nice) (Hate DOTA) Others: Battle for Middle Earth II (Never really captured my appeal) Rise of Legends (Would not even work on my computer) Medieval II, Total War (Worked slowly on my computer) (On a side
Most of us know that feeling. That wonderful, estatic feeling you get when you look at the debris field around their planet. That fuzzy feeling you get when you blow up their level 10 capital ship in a giant explosion. Maybe other games as well, from seeing marines torn to pieces to watching a bunch of dwarves on fire and running around in a panic, we all love that feeling. I haven't felt it yet in SoaSE, because I pretty much suck at the game. Still fun though.
I do not hate EA. They are not my favorite (Stardock, Blizzard) but they are nowhere as horrible as some other games from other publishers/developers. I have faced very few problems with EA's games. I played BFME (the first one). It was fun, could run on my computer, and had very few problems. I bought BFME II, and I thought it was horrible. Just wasn't my thing. Simcity 4 was fun. Every Madden game I have played was not fun. It is a matter of opinion, influence, and preferences of g
I want to be able to place bounties on allied teams. The fact that if he takes a planet you wanted and you want just a LITTLE revenge but can't get it ticks me off. In relation to your statement, I would like a slider as well. The click-click click-click gets annoying... and takes too long.
Quite interesting. Doesn't really matter, but nevertheless interesting.
Spore? Spore?! SPORE!? WHY!!! :SNIFF!: OH WHY!!!!!!?? The game I wanted the most... and now it is gone. CURSE YOU IDIOT CORPORATE PEOPLES!
Wow... so many problems with Sins. Strange then, that I have a Vista Compaq (don't know the actual specifics, not good w/ technical stuff) that has less RAM than the game requires, and it works fine. I mean, I have to keep all visual stuff on low to not have it freeze, but it works fine on normal settings. Your problem seems bad, but I am glad to see that it fixed itself.
I am afraid. The penultimate question... why?
Wait... why would cloaking be good? The game seems to be focused on war... as in, booms and explosions and PEW PEW PEW, not a cloak and hide. Also, what ships are we applying it to? Light ships like scouts and cobalts I can understand, but capitals are bad. Maybe the marauder capitals, but please don't give the Kol Battleship cloaking. PLEASE don't give the Kol cloaking.
I like the idea, I need some giant defense thing that I can then spam to my pleasure. :D I would think it would take tactical slots (defense slots) not logistic, unless it would offer trade and refinery operation. I say only tactical, and have lots of fighters, maybe a few basic frigates, and lots of guns. Emphasis on lots of guns. Did I say lots of guns?
I like the Vasari, but I can never win as them. I don't see that you upgrade the planets, so make sure to upgrade their infrastructure so they are no longer liabilities. The planet development screen is where you do it, and you can also upgrade other things like number of tactical buildings. Since it is your main credit income, you must be sure to keep up on it.
Wow... I can't even beat the easy. I must really be bad. (:( Least it's still fun.
Very happy to see the support given by Ironclad. I think it is nice to see a company finally helping it's customers with bugs, unlike some other companies (Currently giving EA a scowl) so keep it up and thanks. :CONGRAT: :) :D
I would like a zerg mod... :D Anyways, looks like a fun mod. Nice adds and stuff, but I don't dl mods, sorry. GOOD WORK! :)
But... the fighters... they are birds...
Researching Returning Armada, 99%... Research complete. Regal Vasari guy: Facccce the Dark Fleeeeet! Pathetic TEC general: CRAP! RUN AWAY! *TEC constantly jumps away from their homeworld, afraid of my fleet* *they place 1 mil bounty on my head, the last of their credits* *1 mil piriate fleet is thrashed by the Dark Fleet* Pathetic TEC general: Oh $***. They all die. HAPPY ENDING!
What about the Vasari fighters? They are the worst! Please, remember this! The kodiak, while strange, is no where in comparison to the Vasari strikecraft.
I believe the Advent "convince" humans to come over to the Unity. Just a theory, not sure, but that seems most likely. As an afterthought, I like to enslave populations. The appeal of locking down a planet so that you just stay in orbit, ready to kill all at any time, gives you a sense of control... and awesomeness. Just my opinion.
Er... Vasari is best to me, except for THEIR FIGHTERS, WHO ARE SUPER-UGLY. Use them, then try to tell me TEC HC is worse. You can't, can you? MY VOTE IS FOR VASARI FIGHTER, WHICH IS A WEIRD BIRD-THINGY. Now that I read that, there is a lot of caps. Sorry.
Add the regal Vasari guy! PLEASE! He is my favorite :D So please, add him. Hes the most concept-arty guy not up there, and he is the one in the set with the TEC guy up at the top. Please, add him, I would love him as an avatar. Goodbye Sauron. Sauron: NEVER! *vasari councilor/master/guy fights sauron* Sauron: YOU WILL NEVER KILL ME! *vasari councilor/master/guy makes motion with hand, designating sauron for planetary bombardment* Sauron:NOOO! Vasari
pirates are your friend. using tec's credit strength, don't feel afraid to place over 60,000 in bounties. it keeps the enemy busy, and lets your fleet come in when their down.
...Wow... I am afraid... (:(
I once built one, and it just sat there. It did nothing. I selected it, and it had no abilities or attack or anything. It was 1.00, if it makes any difference. I haven't tested it since I upgraded yesterday. Overall, it sounds pretty good, but still deserves a buff. Edit - Now that I think about it, culture OVERALL deserves a buff. Far too easy to counter. I was playing an Advent this morning and it had *powerful* culture heading to an asteroid. So, 1 media hub. Poof, no more p
I always have trouble with pirates, and this is a good recommendation for TEC players. But what about those who love to play Vasari or Advent? I have the main trouble with Vasari, but I love them so much, even though I have yet to win a game with them. About the Advent culture weapon, how do I use it? I created it once, but when I selected it it would not let me fire it off. Any tips? Again, thanks for the TEC idea. Pirates are not happy buggers.
Er... You can put your resources on the black market for others to buy. And you can purchase resources off the black market. Trading comes from the trade outposts in the civic tree. They make trade ships that travel between other trade ports. You need at least one in two different planets for them to travel between them, but the more you make the more cash you get. I usually make one in each planet, and two where I can afford to have them. There are also refineries, but trade p
