Whity2XLC, Please understand what Anny is saying. "Mini-dump" is a GENERIC term for "game crash". IT in itself is not a bug but rather an indication that your game has crashed and contains some information which may help the DEVS determine why your game has crashed. Since retail-release people's games have been crashing yes. But those crashes have been due to any number of different things including out-dated drivers and other OS
It's somwhere in the options...... (can also be set in your user.setting file located in Appdata - search for it)
I just re-make the group with the ships I want (excluding) the problem-child! ;)
Try (alt-tabbing) or running the game in "windowed-mode". Sounds to me like a firewall is asking for permission to allow SINS outbound traffic!
SageWon, well..if I can weigh in here... I've always thought (since retail version) that some of the desync being experienced had to be related to "vast differences" between systems. I still believe that. I've also believed that some desync issues (the network-related kind) might actually be aggravated by using the new netcode (Alloy). One job network hardware has (besides blocking things) is to ensure the right traffic gets to
To clarify. You are allowed (by the DEVS) to install and use SINS on two computers (which you own) simultaneously! Those are the terms of the license.
Solam, Phalnax811 is correct. Every dell notebook I've ever owned has had a FN (function key).....the FN on this key is usually BLUE/PURPLE and any "function" that you can toggle is also printed in the same colour on your keyboard. As Phalnax has stated, there should be "brightness up/down" function keys somewhere on your keyboard (usually the arrow keys, or around that area). So you'll need to hold down the FN key and then tap the brightness
Budzey, Please download my guide "Networking and SINS" which will take you through the process (step-by-step). It can be found linked to right at the bottom of the OP of this sticky ! AetheroToland, If you're having crashes (mini-dumps) with "custom maps" that isn't something to look to the DEVS to support. Please contact the map/mod maker. ;)
SINS only uses an additional core for texture pre-caching.....after that the game is all single-core.
Open Impulse Click the BLUE ORB at the upper left, and make sure "show pre-release versions" is checked. Done. :)
Well, I could be wrong....but emailing support never hurts! [e digicons];)[/e]

Please make sure you're entering all "-" (dashes) as well...... failing that.....please contact thanks, the Monk
...need more info... what game version are you running? and if you're not on the latest version please update..... make sure all of your device drivers (ie. video and sound drivers etc.) are up-to-date.
Well you've certainly got enough RAM/CPU to handle some fairly large end-game scenarios.....I'm wondering if that's when it's crashing on you. You said in your OP......2.5hrs in? Is there more to that pattern? (ie. you're zoomed-in on a large fleet battle......etc.......)
Sounds like a firewall program is blocking/asking for permission in the "background". Can you alt-tab when it seems to "freeze" and see if a firewall is asking for permission to let SINS out? If you can't Alt-tab once the program "freezes", please try running the game in "windowed mode" untill you set the firewall permissions. thanks, the Monk
What are your PC specs.......ie amount of RAM, CPU, video card.....etc.?
Click the BLUE ORB in the upper left corner in Impulse and make sure "show pre-release versions" is checked.
More info is needed..... Which game version are you running? Are all of your device drivers up-to-date? etc.
Well if that's the message, then that is the case. Maybe you don't have any MOD installed, but the host might? What about custom MAPS? The problem is that somewhere your gamefiles do in fact differ from the host. The solution is to find that difference and change it. How are you trying to play "mutiplayer"? on ICO? Lan? Hamachi? More info please.....
so true Anny..... *hangs head* [e digicons];P[/e]
What game version are you running now? I seem to remember 3D movement was taken out in an update (don't remember the reason)....
