Now i dont see why i would be getting such a retarted error. please help...
[e digicons];P[/e] Please uninstall the DEMO first. Then attempt to install the game again. thanks, the Monk
IMPULSE is Stardock's new digital distribution system and will be required in order to update to all future updates for all of their software (among many other uses). Try (re)installing Impulse with the installer from the following link: www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe Please make sure all anti-malware (AV etc.) is disabled when installing it, and that where available you run
I was on the BETA (network testing etc...), just went back to 1.05 yesterday. I'm equally terrible at either, but since the last games I played were in the BETA I'd probably prefer the BETA (haven't played a 1.05 game since the first 1.1 BETA was released) However, if everyone would rather play in 1.05 I'm ok with that as well...... Let's find out who wants to play and when.

I'm not sure if any of the current MODS will work with the BETA? Your best bet might be to contact the MOD maker for help. I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you edit one of the files in the MOD to change the version number it'll work? Anny should be lurking around here somewhere.....I'm sure he'll have a better/more thorough answer.... :P the Monk
one quick work around idea would be to have the Sins games hosted by ICO remotely from a server, so that not only everyone could host, but lag wouldn't be as much of an issue. Now, not only does a person need to have the ports set up to host, he/she also has to have an internet connection capable of supporting 3-10 different players.
PaulTA, I think you've suggested this before (can't find the thread in the pages and pages of "my replies" a
When in doubt (about whether or not file-sharing is set up correctly or not) try accessing the "admin-share" created by default when file-sharing (the server service) is enabled. Open "My computer" In the address bar type " \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\c$ " (the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is obviously the correct IP address of the computer you're attempting to access. The above will attempt a

I am seriously lacking in SINS-skillz.......however I will gladly play a game with you (and others) and be the student. Maybe we could set a time for someti
Visit www.impulsedriven.net download and install IMPULSE, register your CD-key for SINS and re-download it free. :)
Yes, if the USB device is showing up "flagged" in the device manager it sounds like there is something wrong with the USB cradle itself or the drivers the OS is trying to use to interface with it. As I said in my first post, the tip/fix I posted assumes there isn't anything wrong with the actual device just the drive-mappings etc. Going on the information from your latest post, your next step should be as Moosetek13 suggested.
Glad to hear about another "happy-hoster" [e digicons][/e] The new patch (version 1.1) which the SINS devs have been hard at work on (and which is currently in it's 3rd BETA state) employs "tunneling netcode" which will make my guide obsolete. You can download this new version (beta) using IMPULSE ( www.impulsedriven.com ) and once logged-in make sure y
geek on........I hear ya man! [e digicons][/e] I'm still drooling over the Acer Aspire ONE's I bought a couple of months back. (the 120GB HD version). It's perfect for my day-to-day stuff. I didn't want to have to carry a briefcase and notebook backpack. The ONE fits prefectly inside my briefcase!
To the_Monk: That's a nice fix that you shared right there bud!
cplair, Just glad to be able to help! That particular fix is the very first thing I try whenever I encounter a removable drive that "used to" show up and now doesn't show or grab a drive-letter. Hasn't failed me yet in the years I've been doing it...hehe
Ourobourous, Are you using the same email to register the serial numbers as you used when you purchased the software? Please contact with registration-related issues.
Yes, that is the intention. (as far as I know...) EDIT: beaten to the "draw" again huh Anny? [e digicons];P[/e]
1. Making the assumption (at this point) that it's not hardware failure..... 2. Something I've experienced in the many years I've been doing what I've been doing is; sometimes the "mounted devices" in your registry gets "buggered" WARNING: EDITING ONE'S REGISTRY IS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY! YOU CAN CAUSE SERIOUS SYSTEM INSTABILITY IF YOU DO THE WRONG THING IN THE REGISTRY! Now......with that warning out of the wa
Edit: Monk, nice avatar
Thanks, my son made it for me. He actually made a whole bunch (using MS Expression Design studio) some with hand-to-hand combat weapons and others with guns. I think he intends to make an animated short-film with them [some day!].....(he's great at procrastinating...hence the "some day"......hehe)
amthermux, Please make sure you're not running any MODS when you're troubleshooting this issue as crashing due to MODS being installed/enabled is the responsibility of the MOD creator to troubleshoot. If you have saves and replays of the game crashing (un-modded) I believe you can let the DEV's at know and they'll tell where to send them. thanks, the Monk
Did you happen to install any video codecs since "the other day"? I help out in several flight sim communities as well, and one issue that has plagued those communities is intro-movie crashes/lock-ups/black-screens. Many of the problems have been traced back to users having installed a video codec called ddfshow (which comes with many video codec packs including software like DivX etc.) Once the offending codec was removed those game installs resumed
