damn.....thought counting myself among the ranks of the "codgers" wouldn't be for quite some time......but if that's all it takes guess I was wrong! [e digicons];P[/e]

Yes, effectively they are the same except that the hard-copy will still be back at version 1.0 and the download will be at the current 1.05 version. Yes if you install from the disc you will need to download and install IMPULSE, register your game with stardock in order to patch-up. You will also be able to re-download as many times as you need. :) the Monk
1. You need to make sure you've got IMPULSE (the software) installed and running 2. Click the "key" icon at the upper right within IMPULSE and verify that your registration information for SINS is there (ie. your e-mail address tied to your CD-Key) 3. Then by clicking the "My Games" tab you should see the option to install/update SINS. the Monk
That means the something is preventing connection from your PC to ICO.....plain and simple. software firewall blocking out-going SINS somewhere? Some firewalls require re-exemption when a program's .exe changes (which would be the case when you patched the game). thanks, the Monk
Visit ( www.impulsedriven.com ) and download IMPULSE (stardock's new digital distribution system) and register and download/install the game directly from stardock. As long as you have a valid cd-key and register it with stardock you'll be able to download/install it. You might as well do it via IMPULSE because all patches will require Impulse to be installed anyway. :) the Monk
What Anny is saying is..... After you've installed the game, perform the following steps: (btw...be careful when in the system registry, do not ever delete/change anything in your registry if you're "not exactly adept with PC's" :) ) 1. Navigate to the system registry editor (START >> RUN >> REGEDIT >> ENTER) 2. Check the "tree" on the left and expand it (along the proper "branches") until you g
Could you perform a "trace" from your PC the next time this occurs? 1. Navigate to the "command-prompt" (ie. START >> RUN >> CMD >> ENTER) 2. type "tracert 38.98.152.153" at the command-prompt and then hit "enter" This will "trace" the connection from your PC to ICO's IP and should show you where the connection is getting dropped along the way. thanks, the Monk
I can't say I've experienced that so much as my 3 teens using l33t-speak (or whatever it happens to be called these days!) I've taken to fighting fire with fire though, and my three kids are now known as..... noob nooblet and nub! ...around the house anyway! hehe (I have on occasion "slipped" while in public...) While you may have researched things already and won't need to re-research them should the research buildings be destroyed and then rebuilt, you will not be able to build things that are dependent on research if you don't have the required buildings.
Sounds like you'll need to contact via email.
? that doesn't make sense. If you're both running the same game-version (neither with any MODS or custom maps) you should both have the exact same maps.
CenturionJixra, I think we're thinking the same thing......just arriving at the gate via different paths. ;) I completely agree with your post.
As talked about in this other desync thread I do think the new netcode may be making certain types of mp game desync situations worse. It would be interesting to test the following one evening with the same six players: (3v3's seem to stress the engine a whole lot more than a 2v2) 1. Have each player running 1.1 BETA. Try a map with a 3v3 and save the replay (even if it doesn't crash)
Maybe one of you has a MOD enabled? Or a custom map installed?
Can you verify that you've got the latest Windows Installer version? You could go to the MS site and get the latest version if you're not sure. (fyi......if you haven't already you should always keep your OS up-to-date with all of the latest patchest, service packs etc.)
People IMO have forgotten that their are people who want to play just for having fun and enjoy good sportsmanship, not just rush rush and kill your opponent in the shortest amount of time.
Polistes, ...and there we have what's wrong with most (hopefully not all) MP gaming communities these days. The "gamer" has (along with most everything else) evolved. Unfortunately
You can't "destroy" those extractors, you need to "capture" them with the ships I told you to use in my first reply to you...
lemon-rev, Seems like the wrong thread to post your question in...... however, since I'm now here..... [e digicons];P[/e] It depends on which race you're playing. The vasari can cap those extractor's with a scout, the tec and advent need to use their colony frigates.
Honestly, sounds like the multiplayer-contingent of every game community these days.....[e digicons]:\[/e]
In my experience and testing.... the generic game crash (referred to as a "mini-dump") most often happens for one of the following reasons: 1. System drivers, OS, etc. are out-dated/corrupted. 2. Due to late-game stresses on CPU/RAM etc. if the systems involved are "too different" from each other (hardware) this tends to increase the chances of a desync thus increasing the chances of a "mini-dump" (lan or online d
??? Umm no....... If you're playing the BETA for 1.1 (v1.095) then you should know they just gave us a newer BETA version a week or so ago....doesn't seem like "abandoned" to me? ...sorry if I sound confused. the Monk
To JOIN other games online: When you go to "IronClad Online" you then need to "add player" (which will be your online persona) Then use that "player name" and you'll be in the ICO LOBBY Try coming online during US prime-time.......that's when you'll find most of the players online (in my experience) <span style="text-decoration: underline
Please contact with any replays and savegames you've got. Unfortunately this will probably have to do, until the DEVS give us another de-sync debugging .exe for the community to test the bug on.
1. Disable all AV/security software when downloading the updates. 2. LAN games (at least in my testing) have proven to desync more often in late-game scenarios and when there is a significant hardware difference between participants. the Monk
uhoh.....dissent within the trinity......run people.....this could get ugly! hehe [e digicons]O:)[/e] j/k I say a DEMIGOD face-off between Kit and Anny is in order... Oh what the hell....I'm just [e digicons]:troll:[/e] 'ing now.......lol
