Nope i don't agree, it's fine the way it is, this game isn't starcraft.

This speed boost thing could be a researchable upgrade or some kind of building that you can place in your controlled gravity well that speeds up your fleet. However as it's a buildable structure it can't be used offensively. The PJI's do absolutely need to be improved as having your homeworld frig rushed (not boy siege frigs) isn't fun. There needs to be something that HAS to be destroyed before a fleet can move deeper into your controlled space.
Hmm...ignore my above post may have been slightly intoxicated.
It's a fair post but unfortunatly it seems that alot of people aren't capable of putting their problems with the game in a structured constructive way so they just tend to go with the "Omg I am rubbish at dat game, why is it not Starcraft!?1". Alot of the criticism i've noticed is mostly minor issues but gets blown way out of proportion for example the siege frigate issue, which isn't actually an issue at all if you know how to play and counter this tactic.
thats how it works already? if you build a PJI in a system and the planet connected to it is owned by you they can't jump to it.
The obvious thing to do is give the planet itself defences such as nukes and what not to launch at bombarding ships.
seemed to focus too much on the fact that this game doesn't really have a problem, it seems to me that game reveiwers are lagging behind just like the RTS industry is too. Personally i've never heard of these people before so am not really going to value their "review"
I agree with the info box for damage on ships etc, it doesn't seem like the research actually doing anything would be nice to have a little + next to the figures to show how by exactly how much their armor and average damage has been upgraded by.
i think becuase esc is used for deselecting units?
Meh eve has pretty much cornered the market in a space MMO game, i would play eve online any day over some dodgey twitch based flying space flying sim.
You need to forward the port 6112 on your router. If this fails you can enable DMZ.
This is already in-game if you right click the move button it will change how ships jump.
You mean you pirated it?
I like this idea, they would be on the highest level of the military tech tree and should be called flag ships and you can only get one however there could be 3 you can research.
Wait you mean this game isn't starcraft?!?!?!!
Unfortunatly this game is definatly is not for everybody, Maybe you should try some games online since they tend to have a more laid back kind of gameplay believe it or not If you try a 2v2v2 you'll find that you won't get ganged up on like you do when playing the AI, however i think i read somewhere that in singleplayer the AI will target the strongest person.
I played a map earlier that gave me an asteroid already, so it can be put into the map to allow each player to start off with 2 planets or a few asteroids.
The game feels "slow" at the start to stop the innevitable rushing that occurs when the game is designed to be fast patched twitch RTS.
What the TC is looking for is basically the Sins version of a Star Wars Interdictor cruiser. Something that can make its own little grav well so that ships cannot jump out.
interdictor cruiser is exactly what i want to see.
Heh either works :)
Do you mean tango?
It will pick up soon once the reviews start coming in.
the pirates add an element to the game thats largely missing from RTS games, the ability to use other means than just your own forces to influence whether a game is won or lost.
it's designed to be that way so you have to chose what kind of game you want to play, economist of militaristic. It's been stated in the X-play video and some other beta video's i think on game trailers.com
