From my understanding, the a.i. doesn't cheat.
@heflys Am I wrong to expect something unusually good from Stardock?
No, is this game unusually "not" good? Besides, I only refuted part of your argument.
More complex, but that really doesn't necessarily factor into having good a.i. In general, TB games usually have better a.i.
Hmmm, can this imbecile still post in the stickies? I thought this guy received the guillotine?
The a.i. in Gal Civ 2 didn't have to deal with RT combat.
Or are you taking the more standard, "get things generally working then cut the developer loose" approach, considering this isn't actually your own in-house project?
Uh,huh......
Phase-Jump Scramblers. The idea is, that it messes with the Nav system of the enemy fleet. When they go to Jump, it directs them away from the planet you are defending. So, if you have a nexus planet with 3 phase lines, and you want to keep people from jumping down phase line (a), you buld the PJS and designate (a). That way, when they jump, it will redirect them down another path (b) or where they came from (c). Now, the next time they jump in, they HAVE to take out the PJS, and
You guys should report him to GS too, I'm sure they'll listen to you guys. :D
They should report him to GS too, it'd be nice if he could be banned from both sites (if he hasn't been banned from GS already.)
Why hasn't he been banned yet?
Don't worry friend, you'll be banned soon. :CONGRAT: And you'll probably get banned off GS at some point. The only reason he's here is because he's been getting ripped into on the GS forums, but I digress.... I do find his post amusing, and not for the reasons he intended. But on the subject of fleet caps, I imagine it has more to do with the player paying to train crews, as opposed to simply getting any Joe Dirt to fly their ships. It's also for game play balance, since players with
X3 reunion is not a 4x game, but a space simulator/trading sim. This game is on a larger scale than HW 2, and looks the same, in terms of details, as Supreme Commander.
You say yu're running it with 4xaa yet your screenshot clearly shows AA is disabled ... my guess is that you either forgot to save the highest settings ( or reload the game ) or have AA & AF and maybe other effects diabled in your graphics card drivers.
He posted a screenshot?
That sounds better.
Perhaps I'm being too negative.
I heard it (2000) was highly prone to viruses, or something.
How would you manage your empire and design ships at the same time? This ain't a turn based game. That's actually the reason why we can't design ships. It doesn't seem feasible in real-time. But it was done before! The Earth 2150/2160 series of command-and-conquer style of fast-paced RTS games (very popular in Germany) made it feasible. Go to Gamespot to read the reviews of Earth 2150 and Earth 2160 (and The
Reality smacked him right in the front teeth.
Well, I never expected one review site to bash another.
From what I've heard, Win 2000 is pure evil. I've never seen a PC with it installed personally, but that's going too off topic.
The devs stated that such a feature would be too tedious to be issued in an RTS game.
They were talking about Version 1.00.
lol my bad....I still prefer the ESC key over F10 though, it just comes natural to me to tap ESC to get out of a game.
I prefer the ESC also, not sure why it was ever changed to F10 (I mean the RTS genre in general, not just Sins)
I'm still waiting for them to surface...
Yeah, I bought the game, played for an hour or so, and never touched it again. I still don't know why.....
Nothing...It's nothing.
We Gamespot and IGN, tend to focus more on getting the most amount of money.
Oh no.......
Not a bad review for a GS effort. The reviewer must be a new young hungry employee trying to please the powers that be.
Say what? BTW, Delsyn has been reviewing for some years now.
