What if you trick the game. Send a starbase mid-phase jump to another planet with a colony frigate waiting and use it to build a 2nd starbase before the first one arrives. If this work. you can send both starbases to a third planet with a frigate waiting to construct while the first ones are in transit. Depends how vigilant they are about these things.

I've gotten a few games under my belt and I can't quite figure out the best use for these new corvettes. In their info card, it says they are good vs pretty much everything. Lets start off with a few basic questions. What kinda of armor and damage type do they do? light armor and anti-medium damage? Is that close? Which leads to the next question. What type of ships deal the most damage against corvettes and what ships do corvettes g

I thought massed corvette hordes were the counter to titans. When it starts to get low on HP and retreats they can chase it forever. Just hope it doesn't get into a grav well with good defense.

11) The new TEC capital ship says it will convert ships that are taking boarded damage to your side. I tried this and it never worked. I waited until the ship was at 50 HP and cast the abilities, it just explodes from the damage.

Whats this all about? If you lose a titan in battle and rebuild it, does it start at the same XP level as the old one? Is that how it works, or is he asking for this to happen?

I played another game. It crashed only moments before I could claim victory. I had one flagship left I was hunting with a gigantic swarm of carriers and 4 capitals level 8-10 and a level 10 titan. I was surprised to see that I could upgrade the capital ship abilities more than normal. I had the level 1 and 2 abilities maxed at 4 upgrades each and the 4th ability maxed at 2 upgrades. Also the Titan gives you 2 upgrade points per level. It appears to be much stronger when used alo

I deally, the broadcast centers should be tied into planet loyalty and troop garrisons. You can counter broadcast turning your population agianst you with military garrisons, you you would need more and more troops to keep order. Ground garrisons should cost credit fee. The more you have, the more you pay. Using garrisons is a quick fix to keep control of a planet that's loyalty is slipping away, but it gets expensive if you don't fix the loyaltry problem.

There is an old 4X game called Star Wars Rebellion. It was a turn based game, but I always admired the interactions it used for land vs space. You have to station landed troop on a planet to garrison it. Those troops keep the local population in check. A population could be for or against your faction, Rebel, or imperial. If their loyalty was with you enough, you would need less or even no garrisons to maintain order and control production at that planet. There were

I've had the rebellion beta installed since it came out on steam, but I havent had time to play it until now. I discovered that the early game feel very similar to Trinity, but late game feels fresh and fun. I was playing SP mode with 7 AI on hard. I chose my favorite faction, TEC loyalist and started the game. I liked the ability to build 2 starbases. I haven't used the new fifth capital ship much, all I know is when I built one later, it got destroyed pretty e

Is there a way to apply the survery promo code to a rebellion preorder that has already been placed? I can't even see a way to cancel the preorder and try to buy it again with the code.

EDIT: I guess its not the game's fault. I started noticing the same problems in other applications. so while dusting the PC, I noticed the tab for the pci-e x16 slot wasn't flush, which means the back end of the card wasn't fully seated. I pressed it in until it clicked and just played the game for a few hours with no problems. Thats just crazy how everything was working fine and it decides to come loose at the exact time I was updating the game though. If there wasn't a

There is something about the current fleet supply mechanic that doesn't make a lot of sense. Everytime you research a supply upgrade, you get taxed more and more, even if you don't have the any ships to use all of that maintenence money. I know some people cling to this old method for no reason other than they are used to it. I on the other hand had some ideas cobbled together. Fleet Supply Capacity is controlled by your empires population level, but

The only way for land battles to work is if there were more penalties for glassing every planet you come across. The obvious one being that you would have to rebuild the planet infrastructure from scratch, which should be massively expensive. A secondary affect should be the local moral for your faction on all nearby planets will drop when you brutally murder millions civilians. And you lose diplomatic standing with your allies. Low moral will cause revolts an

I don't think it works, and it makes no logical sense. If you want to create a huge fleet, you have to upgrade your fleet capacity which will destroy your economy. That is fine. Now when that fleet is gone, Why am I still paying for it? My proposal is that we keep the fleet capacity upgrades, but unlink them from the upkeep cost. The upkeep cost should be linked dynamicaly to your actual fleet supply usage. And I think that the percentage should reach 100% if you u

I am a fan of Stargate, Star Wars, and Star Trek. I like how each one has a civilization in different stages of Development. Star Wars for example represent the peak of a Galactic Empire, where the majority of the Galaxy is somewhat explored or colonized. The races of the Galaxy have developed commerce with each other and interstellar war and peace is made and on a regular basis. This would be examples of expand and exploit. Then You have Star Trek, which represents a new space f

I won't argue that there wasn't anything wrong with my old installation. But I usually end up reformatting about every 6 months. I don't typically notice such an obvious huge performance gain from a fresh install of windows. It could also be that the 64 bit drivers were not as good as the 32 bit counter parts or any number of reasons. I am just happy that it works so well now.

I keep my system up to date. I was using the same Radeon drivers from 4/09 And from what I read. 64 bit OS uses more overhead trying to run 32bit code compared to 32 OS running 32 bit code. This was a far better performance gain than purging the "junk files" That wouldn't affect a game's framerate so much. My Specs. Vista 32(was 64) Core 2 Duo E7200 oc to 3.08Ghz 4GB RAM video: Radeon 4870 sound: Xonar D2X

I just now about finished reinstalling all of my basic drivers and software after I decided to reinstall vista because I felt it was getting sluggish. it would take maybe 30 seconds longer than normal to boot up and there was a few second delay when i clicked on certain things. Well I have been using Vista for about a year and a half completely with x64 version. The Retail copy I bought was for 32 bit, but I called Microsoft and they mailed me a DVD with the x64 because I had 4GB of R

I just want to add that just because we haven't detected any alien signals, doesn't mean there aren't any. We've only been scanning for less than what 50~ years, which is nothing compared to the millions of years such a signal might take to reach our planet. It is likely that if there was a signal, we have either missed it, or it won't get here for a long time. We can't assume faster than light travel is even possible. Maybe the alien civilizations are bound to sub
