Don't worry I'm working on a patch to fix the additional issues suffered by DLC users missing strings etc this was mainly a compatibility patch so you can at least play with Distant Stars for the time being, there are tons of issues to resolve... The main one of my list, that one minidump that randomly happens when starting the game that's been around for so damn long... even after I've rewritten the entire GalaxyScenarioDef file! Anyway, just a quick post to s

Hey all, my God it's been a long time since I've posted here! Let me apologise for all of the really delayed updates for you all, as you can now see there is a new variant of the Rebellion 1.5 + DLC available now. Whilst it doesn't fix the old minidump problem Distant Stars has had for some time it is fully compatible with 1.5... if you get a minidump when you boot up you'll need to re-download it. Also please note I've supplied the MD5 for you to check you

Here's what you've all finally been waiting for. Whilst there are a few minor issues with this version it should be relatively stable for you. The game will sometimes crash when the game is launched with the Mod however that's something we can work out later. Once the game is launched its been perfectly stable for all of the games I've had. Anyway, enough of my rambling: <a href="http://distantstars.mmobase.com/rebellion/Distant_Stars_(R)_ALPHA_0.10_[45859
So Distant Stars for Rebellion is coming along nicely. It now at least runs without too many errors, few conflicts here and there to sort out but its definitely a step in the right direction! Now you all thought leaving Ryat in charge of the Pirates was bad with his Powerful Pirates minimod, now just imagine Powerful Pirates with this fleet, this was the first raid launched against the AI... <img src="http://distantstars.mmobase.com/rebellion/scre
Hey all, Sorry there hasn't been any news from me recently however I'm sure you'll all be glad to see that there is finally a minor update to the Diplomacy edition for Distant Stars. This incorporates the efficiency mini mod from Stant, basically all of the minor changes I'd started but not finished working on and should've released with 1.00 originally. To download the new version for Diplomacy use the following link: <a href="http://distantstars.mmob
There we go, should be fixed now. Apologies the 7z mime type was missing from my server, all sorted now :)
And so Rebellion is released, we've already started work during the beta on the Distant Stars release for Rebellion so it shouldn't be too long now before we release the first iteration of DS for Rebellion, how stable this is going to be I'm not sure just yet but it should at least allow you to complete most games (otherwise whats the point! XD). We'll also be releasing an update for Diplomacy around the same time also which should merge quite a few of the changes Stan
I'll be porting the Distant Stars MOD in preperation for the release day of Rebellion once my code comes through... darn being dropped to the bottom of the queue because my card expired!

So. It's finally happened. We have reached the 1.00 milestone for the Diplomacy/Trinity release. It's been one hell of a long time coming as im sure you will all agree! The final version includes a heck of a lot of fixes and optimisations to our mod including the removal of all (as far as we know) those annoying minidump errors that just ruin games too often. Without further ado: 1.00 Release for Diplomacy
The only crashes I've had with Distant Stars in it's current version are very occasionally on a map start or when I'm done playing the map and trying to get out of it. Those are again very rare.
One in roughly 33 loads in to or out of a game I believe. Those games have to call upon a very specific set of random galaxy areas and even then its a 1 in 6 that it would then cause the crash. As such it was very har
If you have one working adding more should be childs play as all you have to do is replicate it and add in the necessary additions to the files. Remember though, the militia use the Player races (TECH, PSI and PHASE) as their base. So they will need the additional starbases adding in to them for them to be able to deploy and use them correctly. Not forgetting to update the Starbase count as necessary. Also its best to remove any research requirements for the ones that actual p
Oh, now that I think about it Stant, there is one issue with the "planetary guns" of the advent. Some times the sfx of the weapon's hit (sound used for the beam platform's dmg I think) will stick and loop constantly which usually makes me reduce the sfx or mute them all together. If someone could look into that one, maybe there's a extra line or something caught in one of the files causing it to loop under certain conditions.
<

Update on 1.00: All of the minidump errors are now fixed, it turned out to be 5 separate errors all generated by different combinations of units and so on generated via the GalaxyScenarioDef file. All research costs, research times etc have now been normalised across all research trees (something that should have been done a long time ago). The majority of errors have now been fixed bar a few thanks to Stants help for fixing quite a few of those.

Both 7zip and Winrar can not recongnize the compression type, they say, thus they cannot work with the product. Is there anything in particular with this version?
This version was compressed with LZMA2 you'll probably need to update an out of date version of 7zip or WinRAR to be able to access it.

Okay so its time for another update on how 1.00 is coming along! I've just finished what I hope to be all of the work we need to do on it now apart from this single minidump which we're currently hunting down. Now its not a guaranteed minidump and it never happens during a "match" (of any kind sp/mp/ai/noai etc) it only ever happens when launching the game and may not happen for 13+ game launches and other times it may happen 5+ times in a row. Hopefully we'll be a

Making a mobile "factory" is impossible, it is however possible to make an ability to spawn a ship quite easily via an Ability ala the the Vasari Phase Gates, I believe there is another way to do it but I cant recall of the top of my head, both methods from what I do remember though revolve around abilities. As Ryat mentioned its impossible to make a mobile factory due to the UI constraints which are hardcoded.

So I started making a list yesterday of all of the files that can be removed from DS because they are either no different from the originals or their changes aren't necessary s
