WHOA WHOA WHOA!!!! The tech tree is fine, it really is. If anything is wrong its the AI. I feel that you're playing alot against the Computer and that's understandable because the AI really doesn't exploit the mechanics of the tech tees which are very different for each race. However, if you play a multiplayer game the tech tree's uniqueness really stands out. Most of the times you won't get taht far into the tech tree's when playing against people because they can actually think. Wha
***IMPORTANT*** Please address the ICO's quiting system. IMHO there are two things that must be done. 1: Allow disconnected players the ability of returning to play. They have this for simple games like chess and hearts on yahoo games, so there really should be no reason to not have it on a game as amazing as SoaSE. - To prevent exploitation either limit the amount of Disconnect protects per game, or create an interface that asks the playes in game to bring a vote on

So I don't know what happened today but I havn't been able to log into stardock or ICO! I gave my name and pw and it didn't recognize either of them. So tried giving my info to have my pw sent to my email but it gave me an error message and said login failed. It didn't recognize my email. So then I tried signing up again, but it recognized that my user name was already in use. But I still couldn't get my PW. I know my PW is correct and am frustrated at not being able to connect or get onto the f
you remember the hockey game for the atari? Cause that game was pwn
I jsut saw this and clearly had an amazig stroll down memory lane. I'll never forget 3 years ago when my friend showed me Homeworld II asking me if I though it was going to be better then Homeworld I, I replied with I never even heard of HW1. He flipped a shit, went into his room, tossed it upside down and came back 5 minutes later with an ancient copy of HW1. He demanded I install and play immediatly. I did. Hands down, it was and still is the greatest PC Storyline ever. I was blown away by the
lol, I don't even live in the same time zone as my GF and I still have to confer with her before making decisions.... ahhh such is life.
-Ship boarding/capture -Troop transports for ground invasions instead of just bombing everything would be my favourites, but all listed things would be nice. ^^
Sooooooo true!
I don't know if anyone has posted this already but I had an epipheny after 36 hours of no sleep. Alot of people have been complaining about the lack of power PJI's have and tht the next patch should fix it. Alot of people have argued for more squadrons in hangers. Alot of people have asked for more support for turtlers. Some people are even asking to increase the ship cap for defensive reasons. I figured instead of reworking data to increase all these problems one by one why not jsut create a bl
no no no... all these sugestions are futile. VASARI DOMINATE ALL!!!!!
I personally have never seen that happen, I may just be lucky.. but rarely do I see the AI even start to turn to run before my fleet has finished completely jumping and deploying strike craft.
Me either
Agree with tyou except for the research tree part. Check in the strategy forum for a post on the research trees. It'll give you great help in disecting each of the races and their racial strengths. I've logged in about 50 hours of gameplay already and I still have no freking clue how to master a single race. There's jsut too many ways of winning with a single race to figure it out so soon. I too hope to master it one day...and pwn noobzors online!
lol, easy solution man. Choose an ally! Just carry out one of the opponents missions and get him to agree to a cease fire. after that ask him to defend your base or attack the enemy. Shoudl be easy enough. Also make a midsized fleet of just planet destroying frigates and send them on a SUICIDE mission to bomb as many planets as possible. You'll clinch the win in less then 2 hours.
i love the kostura because the blast does not do anything to fighters and bombers so if you have a fleet that has 50+ fighters/bombers you just send you fleet in and time Kostura firing so that they hit one after another and let you fighters and bombers pick apart thire fleet then when things start moving again the main body just picks the remaing ships apart
Yes! Carriers and tons of bombers will decimate a planet's infrastructure then you can quickly phase out FTW
Build Hangers and stock them up with all fighters. Fighters have a > %150 bonus against planetkillers.
DEAR SANTA, FOR CHRISTMAS I WOULD LIKE IRONCLAD TO SQUANDER THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON VOICE TALENT
Lol, it could be the developers voices for all I care. Besides, it's them I truly love
I think it would be a cool addition to the end of a game to have a video that bridges the gap between the intro and the final outcome. Even if you lose. Of course it's not necessary... but it is one of those nice little touches that make games all the mroe enjoyable
WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! NERF THE MOBO MAN! There's plenty of really good Mobo's out there for half the price. You could funnel that saved money into a Much better processor instead. Gigabyte and some Biostar mobo's are cheap and fuckign amazing. Both my latest CPU's used them and they never gaveme any problems, never.
*UPDATE* SPORE is now schedualed for release September 8th 2008
I think the game is paced accordingly. I think even on normal speed and fast resources, its fairly quick enough. If there was a way to increase the pirate raids, that would buy some time and change strategic moves depending on pending pirate raids and attacking other players. You would have to balance defense with offense that way. Other than that, the game is perfect. You knew it was a 4X when you bought it suggesting you know what your getting yourself into. Unless your completely new t
Lets just highjack some of Blizzards servers. I'm sure they wont notice.
After considerable analysis I have to say that the Vasari are truly deadly when used to their potential. I'm currently working on early game tactics but end game with the Vasari is just too pwnalicious. Don't get me wrong... the TEC and Advent are solid, with teh Advent probably being the funnest most unique race in teh game (culture) but Vasari FTW. I can't wait to play online. Man this weekend is going to be PIMP!
Did you get the Space Pony one?...i've played about 12 games so far and i haven't gotten it and don't know how. -sniff-
I played a huge map and controlled 20 planets and DIDN'T get Space Ponies!!!! I'm enfuriated on the inside.
yilmael you havent? it will take you under 15-35 seconds (matters what direction its heading) to kill a level 10 cap (if the cap has no anti-fighter abilities) with 40 bombers, even if he has 35+ flaks the cap will die, then you can just kill a few buildings (most likely you can find a building away from the flaks) and retreat, greatest harassment method there is and makes many human opponents quit. however an all out carrier fleet is not so good in direct battles (maybe
