jack_davidson & xceptone, any sins map version 3 when placed in the galaxyforge folder next to you mods folder WILL work in the galaxyforge map type. Assuming you have sins 1.17/entrenchment 1.03, the galaxy forge maps NEED to be placed here for xp C:\Documents and Settings\'user name'\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\GalaxyForge or here for vista/windows 7 C:\Users\'user name'\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a S

update I have released the version 1.1 which uses the correct convertdata exe's to convert the entities from/to bin, eg updating a mod from entrenchment 1.01 to entrenchment 1.03 in the mods folders first copies the files to the mods-entrenchment v1.03 folder then checks to see if the file is in BIN if it is it uses the convertdata_entrenchment1.01.exe to convert to TXT ,then updates the entity, then if the file was in BIN it then uses the convertdata_entrenchment1.03.exe to convert it back t

I have some good news. blair has given me permission to include the earlier versions of the convertdatas for my mod updater and txtbin gui, and due to the size of the convertdata's the download size has increased to 4.4MB so I decided to add all of my modding and mapping tools into one archive. I am uploading to filefront , gamingvault and <a title="harpo's modding utilities" href="http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b70e23d4568339f600d27174b47c6657e04e75f6e8ebb871" target="_bl

actually the gui that I released to danman is the 1.0 version. the 1.1 (waiting on permission to distribute with the convertdata*.exe's from older sins versions) DOES correctly update all the mods INCLUDING 7DS alpha BUT ONLY works with the sins versions that I have a BIdirectional convertdata for. the problem with the convertdata's is that EACH VERSION encodes/decodes the bin differently and CAN LOCKUP or FAIL the conversion with binned files created with a different version (i think

i designed the utility to help ALL sinners, but modders CAN particualry benefit as it uses text files to look for the things to change and what to change them to, but it only looks in entity files to Keep It Simple and Clean Stupid ( no intelegence in the program)

shugareshane & dragoon4ever there is my recently released MOD UPDATER that you place the mod in the correct mod folder version for the mod eg mods-v1.15 then run the mod updater selecting the ENTIRE mods version folder, and the current mods folder and the mod updater WILL update any mod that is in txt mode, but at present there are some issues with the bin'ned mods due to the convertdata's not being backward compatib

sorry I was thinking of the various potential manifests that my manifest maker could be adapted to create if ironclad decide that they need it in the game. I have written 7 utilities for sins, with 6 released so far and two updates waiting upon permission to re-distribute the older convertdata's, with the un-released one being my string utility, but I am still having some issues with it. over the past 30 years I would have written over 80 utilities for pc's and the old crash-8
