I can tell that ill be on the receiving end of that slaughter.
Don't worry, that's how everyone starts out. Find someone better than you, ask them, and listen to their suggestions - Even in-game, it'll make a big difference. There's also a lot of hints scattered throughout this forum. Edit : I need to reply quicker. FYI, Amish knows what he's talking about. Definately take any hints
Might you have reached a limit with your ISP and been throttled down?
Apparently, Qwest does have limits. At least it's confirmed that it limits Bit Torrent bandwidth. I'd be surprised if there aren't other limits imposed. Again, good luck, wasp.
How recent is recently? If it's been a matter of hours, I'd give it a day. Alternatively (or in addition), check your download speed on something else to see if it's the Impulse servers or if the problem is on your end. Either way, you're probably going to want to wait a while.
Out of curiosity:impulse doesnt have refunds...does it?
I think it does, but you'd have to talk to someone to get one. I think
I've had very little trouble with SoaSE on either of my Win7RC systems (64 and 32 bit). I'm guessing they'll (SD/IC) do a fix or two, if necessary, once the OS is officially released. On a side note, I enjoy Windows 7 very much. It's nice.
Email Those guys should be able to help you out. Since you know the game was used, you may need to provide proof that you own it. IIRC, a picture of the serial number and the box usually help with that. Good luck. They tend to be reasonable and respond relatively quickly. ...I think they don't work weekends, though, so you might be out of luck until Monday or so.
If you start up Impulse (assuming you have downloaded it), the Updates tab will show up at the top. Go to that, and it should be fairly apparent what to do. If you see no "Updates" tab (give it a moment to check online), your version of Sins is probably up-to-date. Stardock is no longer releasing stand-alone patches for the game; updating is only available through Impulse.
Whiskey, I thought about it, but I'm not going to get into a long religious/scientific argument with you on the Big Bang and age of the Earth or universe. I'm Christian too, but I probably lean towards scientific explanations, so I think we'd be blowing a lot of air at each other for no purpose. Conversly, you've got the wrong idea about carbon dating (Aviyur, this may be of interest to you, too). It's half-life is roughly 5730, much longer than what
This seems pretty neat. I'm interested to try out the free download. Errors I noticed: On the "Purchase" page, I found "Automatic Updates through Stardock Central." I'd assume it's supposed to say "Impulse" and not "Stardock Central." I could be wrong, though. The T7_Startup.png shows the usual startup time as -70ms. It's either an error, or you have a time-travelling computer.
As said by Myles, a larger resolution will make the UI look smaller. You can also eliminate some of it through modding. LazySumo had a minimalistic UI mod waaaay back when, but it's a little out of date now. I might try to upload my version of his mod at some point (since it's updated for Entrenchment v1.03), but I've yet to ever upload anything. Of course, I'm at work right now, so don't expect it immediately.
As mentioned, Final Fantasy Tactics and Xenogears are possibly some of the best games ever made. Final Fantasy 7 and 9 are also dammed good. I also loved Chrono Cross, but you already have it. If you're looking for totally different styles of games, Metal Gear Solid and the PS Mega Man X games (4-6) are very good. And like Kryo said, a PS2 (which plays PS1 games just fine) isn't so expensive right now. So as a legality issue, <p
Why else do you think it is that he doesn't like Light Frigate rushing? [e digicons][/e] As a side note, this is one of the most constructively bitter posts I've seen. Sorry to hear that your games haven't been going well.
Let's have somethin' like this!
So, if you think about the size scale you're dealing with in Sins (as opposed to SC)... Do you realize you're asking for something where a starbase and/or planet tranforms into Unicron ? I mean, as cool as watching a planet get eaten for breakfast is (and it is), I somehow
The "Exclude from being hidden" option shows up when you right-click on an icon. I used it to make sure My Computer an My Documents always stay active. You can use this option on individual icons within a fence as well. It's very possible that you selected the icons and clicked the option without realizing it (add another icon to test this). It's probably equally likely that the option is somehow the default setting on your computer somehow - maybe an XP Pro is
I would email They'll be the best people to help you with that problem. They usually respond pretty quick (they got to me in 24 hours), and seem very reasonable. At the very worst, you may have to "prove" you have the box. If you they ask, I'm sure taking a picture of the serial number would more than suffice. Good luck. I'm sure you'll be enjoying Entrenchment soon.
does any one have photo shop?
I'd suggest using GIMP . It's got most of the abilities that PhotoShop has, but it's open source - so you won't get in as much trouble when the Feds bust into your house.
I just picked up Galactic Civilzations II (also by Stardock). It's definately more in of a diplomacy-heavy game than Sins is. I'd suggest taking a look at it. Other than that or another game, I'm not sure what to tell you. I'm quite looking forward to the next expansion as well.
It keeps record of it. Unfortunately, it's only on your computer (and you can actually edit the file manually, if it makes you feel better). You can spend your time collecting them for your own pleasure like on the other systems, but you can't really show them off - Not that anyone cares too much. Of course, achievments on the systems you mention don't actually do anything, either. They just give you "points" that demonstrate how much time you've spent playi
I was trying to find an email for tech support but I guess spending $50 on this game doesn't make me worthy of that.
They usually respond pretty quick. Update your video card drivers. That's the most likely suspect. I've used two nVidia cards and only had problems with the game before I updated the drivers on one of them. The original nVidia drivers had some issues, and not just with Sins. If you're still having trouble, email Similar question = same reply. Sorry, I didn't feel like retyping things.

Email They've always gotten to me within 24 hours (though that's not a promise). They won't right now because, well, it's the weekend and a holiday at that. I'm sure they'll help you out, though. This should be a fairly straight-forward problem for them. And please don't whine. You're less likely to get help that way.
Pretty nice, overall. The timing is really good. My biggest complaints would be 1) I didn't really like the music. It sounds cool at first, but I was expecting a melody at some point. 2) There's no Advent (other than the one quote at the end). Again, it was very enjoyable. My comments are really just how I think it could be improved, but it's still a heck of a lot better than anything I could've done. Karma for you. [e digicons]k1[/e]</
