If I read the forums correctly, at least one ussue with ICO last night was that it kicked everyone off at some point. However, I think that was because a new version of ICO was uploaded and the system had to reboot for it to take effect. Check the posts near the bottom of this page: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/354040 I could be totally off though, or there might be another problem I'm not aware of.
I believe EACH can put in 150, making a possible total of 450. But, I'm not sure, and anyone correct me if I'm wrong. EDIT: that actually doesn't make much sense, since then all the different factions would be affected by eachother. So, it may be just a plain total of 150.
Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken, but I'm pretty sure it's 150 per player per gravity well. Thus, you could have up to 1500 mine
I'd like to see the phase lanes for star-to-star transits, as well as those for wormhole-to-wormhole, just as I can see the intra-system phase lanes. Maybe even in a slightly different color? I think they should remain "invisible" until you research the appropriate tech, though - keep the mystery.
IIRC, wormhole phase lanes show up once you have both (1) resarched the technology and (2) sent at least one ship through the wormhole. Then they show up as normal (ma

I'm comparing it to XP since I don't have a Vista machine, but I really like it. There seem to be a few issues occasionally, but they're mostly when I start up games because no one supports Win7 yet. It does seem fast and most of the features that have changed are rather intuitive (definatly a heck of a lot better than Office 2007). Performance seems pretty good. It uses a good bit of ram (again, compared to XP), but it seems to reduce the usage when there's somethin
Game paused? Yeah, when I pause it, it says "paused", but then a few seconds later that message goes away. I'd like it to stay on the screen so I don't forget and need to click around to notice if anything is moving or not.
I'm disagree with you very strongly on this point. The main reason I pause (other than walking away from the computer) is to get good screen shots of a battle. I'd rather not have the word "PAUSED" on my desktop image.
Ship

I much prefer an AI ally to no ally at all. I played a game earlier today where I was facing 2 human opponents without any backup (and both of them were Regulus). [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] I barely kept the score respectable. If I'd had an AI buddy, there's a chance I might have even won the game. I'm still not sure how I was left stranded like that.

Juggernaut10, What you're describing is a Homing Mine Squadron , which is quite different. The advent make squads of homing mines just as they would normal strikecraft; however, the mines have to be deployed (activated? I forget the word) for them to be useful. The squadron itself doesn't do anything other than follow the Drone Host around. If you click on them, there will be an option to actually lay out the squadron as mines, at which point they will act as
BTW, now I'm nervous, there were really negative reviews? The worst I know of was Gamespot and even that was effectively a 3.5 out of 5 basically.
Frogboy, The worst 3 scores - on both metacritic.com and gamerankings.com - are GameSpot (6.5/10), Giant Bomb (3/5), and 1UP (C). Unfortunately, the sites have interesting and different scales for letter grades. So on Metacritic, that "C" ends up being a 50. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] Also, th

At the point where my caps get to level 10 (or sometimes even 6+), I usually relegate them to the reserve fleet. My lower level fleet stays as my main fighting force, and I only bring the high level ships in when s**t hits the fan. It allows me to level faster, but I can usually still recover if I bite off more than I can chew.

The manual would not have mentioned the expansions or, at the least, not much about them. However, I believe the Sins manual does say that you need to register to get updates to the game. And I think you need an updated version of Sins to play Entrenchment. Edit: Dang it, Annatar! You ninja'd me. [e digicons]:ninja:[/e]

Yeah, the Starbase College for Capital Ships method is pretty reliable. Even a single starbase does well for this. If you're particlarly worried about your cap ship (for instance if it's a level 1 with no support), just have it sit on the opposite end of the gravity well and set the engage radius to "hold position". On a side note:
why cant the sun be colonizable?! That would be cool!
<p

I have a Dell from 2005/6 (not sure). I've played games of Sins on it for hours with no real trouble; I just make sure the vents are clear. It does get a little warm, but nothing unmanageable. FYI: It's a Centrino Duo (2.0 GHz), 2 GB of RAM, integrated video. So unfortunately, I have to keep Sins on low graphics, but I have a home PC for the nice-looking stuff.

My CD key is located on a white sticker inside the case, behind the manual. The sticker is labeled "PC SINS SOLAR CODE STKR". I bought mine at Walmart, I think. SnoopDaggo... Seriously, man? Don't be so quick to judge. You didn't even try to acertain if he's got a legitimate reason to be asking this question.

I am running the Beta (I'll get to the RC this weekend). All I've tested is Sins, Demigod, and Fences, but they all work fine.

Unfortunately, Sariden, I don't know of any trick to do what you want. I run into the same problem quite often, and usually handle it the same way you do. Alternatively, I'll have my reinforcements set to rally at a planet just behind my two fleets and then manually ad them to the fleet I want. It can be beneficial if you want to scare off your opponent by having a large number of reinforcements show up simultaneously.

From my discussions with active modders, it seems that making a mod compatible with both vanilla Sins and Entrenchment is incredibly difficult. Since Entrenchment removes a lot of the old hard-coded limits from the original game, most active (and complicated) mods seem to have gone the route of only making an Entrenchment version. The biggest counter-argument to my statement is 7 Deadly Sins, which is still vanilla v1.05 only. However, DANMAN has stated that the next version will

In my personal opinion, Entrenchment is worth it. I'm waiting on Danman to get his mod updated (I know it takes time), but I'm having fun playing Entrenchment in the mean time. Unfortunately for you, I don't think you can play Entrenchment unless you upgrade vanilla Sins - someone correct me if I'm wrong. Regardless, I believe Danman has stated that the next version of 7DS will only be for Entrenchment, so I would definately buy it then, if not before.

So after destroying the previous base, you have made your new fortress untouchable and unobservable from our universe - aside from a seemingly random ball of unmoving space-time held in phase/hyperspace. For all intents and purposes, you have cut yourself and your fortress off from the rest of the universe. After an appropriate length of time (30 minutes seems good), people will begin to doubt that your "invincible fortress" was even created in the first place. Therefore, with n
