Another potential solution: don't colonize them, but build Culture/Media centers nearby, to spread your culture into them to prevent opponents from colonizing them. Also, the culture will help boost allegiance of your lower income outlying planets. Altho the typical 10% boost in allegiance is not that much, it is a significant increase for your lower allegiance planets (25%>35% = a +40% increase, 40%>50%

While TK push and energy amplification are excellent abilities, its other two abilities go beyond lackluster, they're borderline worthless. Adept Drone Anima is even worse than the Sova's heavy strike craft, and its ultimate is basically equal to three uses of scramble bombers, which we've already concluded is practically worthless as is.
Resource extractors are nowhere near as effective at increasing resource income as trade ports are with credits. Completely false; even at the lowest loyalty levels extractors remain more efficient than trade ports. Trade ports cost SIX times as much as an extractor (using the generous 1:4 credit to resource conversion rate). However, one extractor can easily match one trade port for income.
I have found that the late game on larger maps leads to the problem of a "no man's land in space" The middle of the map tends to be 6+ jumps from the homeworld of both players, severely affecting allegiance. This is not a big problem for the advent and the allure of the unity, but when half or more of the planets income (resources, not tax) is being wasted those planets are not very productive and therefore not very valuable. Usually, after breaking the deadlock, i won't
Ship to ship: Radiance is the best hands down. As for the vasari caps; the egg is useful at the start and later because of its planet vortex and nano disassembler. The Kortul is the best thing the vasari have versus strikecraft and one of the hardest ships to kill due to distruptive strikes and power surge. Antorak gets useful if it can get to higher levels, but sins is a combat game and a raiding ship doesn't really fit in. Skirantra is useful almost excl

What would be cool is phase wave cannons [e digicons]}:)[/e] , but anyway.... My point was that a high level advent cap (progenitor) with all the plasma upgrades will do over 100 dps with just the plasma weapons. A crusader will do 35 dp
Fleet cohesion is the only reason to use fleets and that really only comes into play late-game when there are too many ships to micro support to. It's generally easier to just group them and move them that way, no reforming to waste time. An advent fleet (for me) is just about alway set to hold position in tight formation, let the strikecraft horde kill everything, then send in the ships to mop up...

If skirmishers had waves then pulse gun research could be shortened or removed since only scouts, colony frigates, and support cruisers would use them. Moving the wave research down a tier just means that you can research it much earlier than you have anything that uses it. The advent have this happen with the plasma tree, but their caps use plasma (especialy the progenitor) for a lot of damage. Vasari caps barely use waves, they have them, but most of the damage is phase missles (or

It would look weird, but that would make dropping the tiers of the wave research tree a useful thing t
To kill pirate raids just use a cap that you want to level up caps eat pirates. The antimatter recharger is a little limited in its uses, since it only targets ships and not structures.
Fleets are really clumsy to maneuver, especially if there are a lot of things to run in to. They spend most of their time "reforming" anyway. The best use is when your navy is chock-full of support ships and you want them to keep their relative place to help the frontline ships during combat. Oh and you can turn off the auto join fleet command by right clicking on it
You must've misread.
Probably, was very tired when i read this. It just seems weird how the vasari are a one-trick-pony. I think the bombardment research should be replaced with a passive ability
Yay for necro! The DE is the best, build 2 and stagger shots on a planet and your enemy won't be able to keep it. The kostura is the most tactically useful with the phase stabilizer extra and because it stuns defenses The novalith is the easiset to use and its a nuisance
The Skeleton is very original, but a case should protect the components and help to dampen noise. The skeleton could be replaced with a cookie sheet to put the mobo on and a fan blowing at it. Better watch your step around that thing....
I would caution against making the lowering the tier of the vasari research as this might allow them to steamroll anything (particularly the advent) in the early game, and leave them with nothing in the late game. Well, lowering the research tier of wave cannon upgrades would only reduce their cost and time required for upgrade, which are both unexplainably high. You still need 5 military labs to make their main users,
Amish, you are right. But thats more of a by product of the illum invincibility. When and if illums are balanced, then repulse will be a nuisance, but not a game ender. The advent rely (almost exclusively) on abilities and how they stack to win fleet to fleet battles. Repulse is designed to separate large fleets from the groups of support, very useful since the advent are almost always outnumbered by the vasari and TEC. The problem arises when a single cap is targeted and cann
The vasari got screwed over by the devs. Phase missles are a good idea, but if you take away that, a vasari fleet is about as threatening as a neutral planet's militia. The enforcer needs higher base dps, at least on par with the kodiak. And waves need to be buffed on cap ships, so that the wave tree is worth it. I think that either pulse guns, or pulse beams, should be removed. Pulse beams look cool, but whats wrong with just having pulse guns on caps? this would also make th
Repulse is OP, but it is a neccesary ability for the advent. Their carriers are the heart of an advent fleet, without repulse you could just rush some frigs or hcs to the rear of an advent fleet and destroy the carriers, bye bye advent. Repulse puts the affected enemy ships out of the range of the advent damage dealers (crusaders, the trinity, illums) If they are going to push you around, then make them come to you. Have you fleet sit out of range and the advent loses its aura of late
