You'll be fine Justin, one thing at a time, :) Fujuki, thank you for the very nice compliment, im glad you like it, :) -Teal
You're playing too much of the Advent Justin, :) As for the rest of it... i wish ... i wish... maybe if it was a movie, huh? :) But how complex do people want their games? Probably not too much. Anyway, thank you for the nice comment. :) -Teal
Well, first lets look at what is a campaign? Is it a war? Yes, and no. A war from beginning to end can constitute a campaign, and no, in that a campaign may be sub-divided into sections of the war. Lets use the Civil War as an example: A sub-division of the civil war can be sectioned into the 4 main political events that led to the South ceding from the Union and forming the Confederate States of America. It can also be sub-divided into the 7 major battles during the

That is okie, i have the reference files from the 1.05 Forge Tools, and of course the new ones. It is very kind of you, but i have decided to forge ahead and not look back. It is a thought to uninstall and reinstall and copy and update and then not update the other, and to use one shortcut for one, and another shortcut for another, and who's on second? Haha, Well... i think i will live with 1.1 and enjoy it, and live without mods until i can re-build some of my own. :)
Hi, Okie, different tact, old idea. Is there a way to create an ability that will create a ship? Or more precisely, Is there a way for me to create an ability that will create a frigatefactory? :) (Why settle for one ship when you can get them all?) Haha. Well, i have to start looking at the abilities. Im fairly familiar with the advent, and they create fighters/bombers, and lets see... i think that is it. The Tec im not very fa
Everyone has been very very helpful, thank you. I'm afraid im too late to copy, i updated already, haha, i should have copied it, just to be safe you know... but well. I guess if i do the uninstall that Annatar talked about and that you did, would get me there. Seb9 had a wonderful idea, but i think if only applies to my 1.1 version, i will have to look on impulse to see if i have a backup copy available for a download. And if it would let me install it somewhere other than the C:\ dr
Ahhh.... okie, let me go slow, haha, so i dont confuse myself. 1. Uninstall the game. 2. Install 1.05 to D: drive. 3. Copy game folder C:\...\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\etc... to C: drive. 4. Start copy from the C:\drive and log into Impulse. 5. Update copy on C:\ drive. ?? Hmmm.... haha, well... i guess if i want "both" haha. :) Thank you to all, i appreciate your time. Thank you. I will give it a try and le
Hmmm... i have my original disk, i had it in the dvd drive of course to install, but it "see's" the 1.1 updated version on my c: drive. I was hoping of course to install to my d: drive to keep them separate. :) Ahhh.. copy my main install folder c:\...\stardock games\sins of a solar empire\etc... to my d: drive? If i understand you correctly. then start up that copy, log on to impulse and, actually when i first updated 1.05 i did it off the Sins site. to 1.05.028 i think?
Hi, I updated and it is pretty cool, but i miss the mods, and there are several old mods that i think are no longer in development. So i wanted to ask if there is a way to install both 1.1 and the old 1.05 on the same machine? I have a d drive that i could install the 1.05 copy to, but thought that the mod folder path is going to be the same as my 1.1 version, does it matter? Or do i need a second mod folder path for the separate 1.05? I know this is a silly question and i apologize,
The old Developer.exe for 1.05 doesnt seem to read the new files. Perhaps it is the format. Will there be a new Developer.exe for 1.1 or perhaps i am not doing something the way i am supposed to? Sorry to bother, -Teal
:) Yay!! I tried this with the new convertdata.exe from the 1.1 and it works beautifully, with abilities and all!! Thank you for the nice help. I will have to look at the reference data folder to see how to convert them back to binary, but this is beautiful!! :) Its a Big help! -Teal back to work on my mini-mods :)
edit: My bad, i thought it was convertdata.exe, sorry. -Teal
Very nice!! It looks like all new models? And in 1.1 no less, very very nice! :) -Teal
im not sure, but i think he now means how to convert his saved games into 1.1, if its possible. I have no clue about save games, sorry :( -Teal
[quote who="quantumdragon" reply="9" id="1946427"]Hey guys I was thinking of something to go along with the mobile defense and ships that build ships. I am new to the modding community here so please forgive my ignorance. Would it be possible to have one constructor ships who's special abilities would be to spawn the capital ship facility and the frigate facility? However to keep from spamming a hundred f
[quote who="Tkins" reply="4" id="1944243"]Hey that's great news. I love seeing how people figure out solutions in modding. There are some really creative ways to achieve results. To build on this, could we make hangars that build frigates/cruisers? Is it possible to make those cruisers/frigates not jump out of the grav well? I'm thinking of making a militia where you can level up a hangar. 2nd level the hangar spawns 5 frigates 2
[quote who="mr.WHO" reply="25" id="1940274"]I finished a whole mission and I think that it's too easy. If you have enough cash (which is obvious if you consider TEC vs Vasari) the pirate attacks can effectively negate Vasari any ofensive ability (few puny frigates from time to time). Another problem is that Vasari, exept their home asteroid, don't have any major asteroids (logistic and population capable) in ther half of the system so they are additionaly weakened
Hmmm.... Change to longer weapon ranges... set deceleration to a lower value... perhaps not zero, or to something under 1 such as 0.250000?... how to force a ship to re-pick its target? That one is over my head. Perhaps there is no single modifiable value that will do it, but a combination of several? Also, just a thought, but is there a way to have a ship give priority to weapons over abilities? Unless extending the ability times is it, though i will have to look and see if those are
:) Ahhh... this seems to me it can be applied to other buffs as well, say for lowering or extending the time domination or restore shields is active? Thank you for the info!! :) -Teal
Interesting tool. Will it convert all the binaries to text, one file at a time? Or can it convert the whole folder at one go? Just curious as with 1.1 i am now looking at converting the files, unless IC will be doing a text reference data folder like they did with 1.05. Thank you, -Teal
