You have to "offer them a mission" of giving you money, which they can then reject outright. I think its kind of ridiculous that they can reject a demand outright.

That'd be nice to see pirate Kol's. I tried to do that with the map editor, but it didn't work. And it makes PERFECT SENSE, too. I mean if another star nation is shelling out 50,000 credits for a pirate raid... By god there needs to be some damned CAP ships in there!
I played a game with nothing but Halcyon Carriers. That was a doozy.
^ YES! BEcause SPAMMY ZERGRUSH games SUCK.
Dead horse or not. It needs done. If Sins II (provided its coming sometime) is going to be purchased by me, it damned well better have multi-core support. Chances are I could run this game just as well on a 3.0ghz P4 3.5gb ddr2 3200 NVIDIA 7650GT WinXP system as it's running on my W7 64bit 8gb ddr2 6400 striped raid 7200rpm/32mbcache sata drives with a 9800GT w/ 1gbddr3 and 3.0ghz 6000+ AM2 dual core proc. That. Is. Not. Right.
Which is no longer possible. All I can tell you is what I saw :p
The point of Diplomacy is to allow for a way to have time to bolster your defenses and build your empire. If you decide that you want your neighbors planet that happens to have an artifact, you can ditch all of the empire bonuses you get from the dealings and do so. You receive negatives for hostile actions, which may or may not make any real difference with things, but after that declaration, the computer is going to attack you back. Even try to take the planet. If that comp
Games long over ;p
^ That would be AWESOME. Instead of all of the planets being on the eccliptic, make it so you can have a phase lane right 'above' the planet. I also think they should add 'microstarbases'. Starbases that you can put anywhere but are only capable of minor bits of the abilities of the main starbase.
Keep in mind, this is still Beta.
Thing is, I already had structures there. So I should have been able to see the planet anyways . I couldn't until my culture took back over. :p
I wasn't disgustED, it was disgustING. ;)
Ok... scratch that. Orange and Red look too darned alike. Orange needs to be brightened up as a color. It WAS one of my worlds. Another thing occured though: Despite having a whopping array of defenses, as soon as I lost culture, I lost vision of the planet. It's like none of it was there. Once my culture retook the planet, I could see my structures again.
Playing a game as TEC, and my propaganda mill pushed into a neighboring Advent world. I received the message "Allegiance is dangerously low on one of our planets". I checked all of mine... they're all ok. Which means I just received a message that should have gone to the computer.
I dunno. I just picked back up on Tec again, and I decided to build an Akkan BC first, and was surprised by just how fast my game progressed. It was kind of disgusting. Just try new tactics/strategies.
-Ue_Carbon wins a gold star ;3 On that game, I totally lost. I made the mistake of splitting my fleet before I had stolen enough of their ships, and my capital ships (all level 10's) were picked off one by one. I have a saved game that I might go back to, but it was just ridiculous at the end. I destroyed something like 70 enemy capital ships, and lost about 18 myself. I'm starting to think that a 6 Radiance', 5 Raptures, and 3 Halcyons, and 2 Progenitors is the way to go. PUMMEL PUMM
You know, pretty much all of the ships in the TEC aresenal are transformed CIVILIAN ships, with armor literally slapped on--save for the Kol. Adding more ships could be as easy as bolstering the ones that are already there. Changing the ships appearance and performance as an evolution. The Marza would become more streamlined--Advent-like, to allow more weapons mounts and bristling awesomeness for example. For that matter, this game is evolving... so why don't the ships
You're right on the Vasari + Stealth. I figure this'll just throw some ideas and get some people thinking though. Hope you dev's are watching!
Destroyer Class ships would be badass. :D Though.. are Destroyers BIGGER or SMALLER than Cruisers/Capships in this case? In Freespace Destroyers were the big ones....
Alright... so it IS multicore supported? I'm in a late game vs 4 unfair AI's. 100+ planets. Playing Diplomacy. System specs are: Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3ghz proc 9800 GT 1gb ddr3 gfx card 8192 MBytes DDR2 Dual Channel 800mhz 6400 I'm running a Striped RAID on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Tell me why my CPU is only showing 56% usage. o ___ O ;
I think that you should have the ability to do a slowboat attack. ;3
It's NOT MULTICORE? WTF!?
I've posted it in another thread and read other posts about some of these, but here goes: Advent Espionage Tree One Harmony Temple Foreign Corruption Level 1-2 - Linked with Culture Rate but not specificly reliant upon it - % of enemy income is stolen via telepathically reprogrammed officials and/or privateers/corporate interests. Two Harmony Temples Psi-Cops
And 'stealth'! Make it so only scouts can detect it. While on that... everyone can 'see' mines. But they need a scout to "see" them. Why not make enemy mines completely unseen? I mean, if I KNOW I'm walking into a mine field, I'm going to bring mine detectors to kill them. If I don't KNOW, then I have to dedicate a chunk of my forces to mine detection out of pure paranoia. Do that with the espionage ship, too.
Did you have wormhole travel researched? Stupid question, but it needs to be asked.
