i think it may be due to the fact that you have it set higher than the # of upgrades you can actualy do. try setting it (if you havent already) to 16 (or what ever the max # is for that starbase) and see if that helps.

i figured you want it to be completely invisible (at least to the enemy/AI) but it would be wise to have it so YOU can see it when its cloaked otherwise you might loose ships [e digicons]8C[/e] . on second thought, maybe for balancing reasons you may want to give it a slight blur effect to that other ppl can see it (probably for bigger ships, but the scout completely invisible), but thats just a thought

there should be a line in each starbase file that has something like "linear acceleration" thats lets it move like with the vasari starbase

i don't have much experience with this part of modding but I'm not sure exactly how reflective this cloak can be made, it sounds like you want a mirror effect which leads me to think you'll need a semi-transparent metallic color (color to perhaps distinguish between the different races)

it would be nice if the devs could, after the mini xpacks are out, make a patch that has moving turrets and pirates that use caps.

hi folks, I was wanding if it would be possible to add advent beams to there SB and if so which spot would be the best. the main reason is i feel that its under ranged compared to the other SBs (which both have some sort of 'beam' weapon). TIA

have you used google, though i cant say how successful it would be or if you'd even find anything you like but its worth a shot. i can understand personal enjoyment as i've modded my sins game to be more, lets say, difficult for the ai lol. maybe talk to some ppl doing a starwars mod or the like and see if they will give you a model for each race (or how ever you plan on doing it) and then if you think its too small just blow it up a bit. anyway hope that helps, Agent X

ssd's are fine and all if you really need them (like stated above), but what really craps my budget is gfx cards. they have a new one out twice a year and its only ever slightly better then the previous one (with some exceptions) in real world applications. and what they charge for a high end card is even worse, a profit i can understand but $300+ for a 'high-end' card that is almost beaten (again in real world application) by a lesser card or better yet, a previous generation card is sa

yep its well known (at leats i thought it was) that you can make the other 2 bases move just by adding the speed values you want them to have. like harpo said just edit the lines [e digicons][/e]
Even with the Control panel option, Sins doesnt seem to want to use my second core. Keep in mind, that runs somewhat choppy with the core maxed out, there are periods of more smoothness, and those could be where the game goes into the second core. Look at Crysis Wars, it seems to divide the load instead of maxing out the first core and runs fairly smooth. Which

from what i understand from reading the ingame info things, the command your referring to historic, regulates how far the ships can move away from the flag and not the regualr spacing of the formation. im gonna look around in the game constants file and see what i find, since its a bit odd to see your ships crash into each other without hearing "we've stustained critical damage on all decks. we're going down, god help us." lol

maybe but then i have these tiny ships with massive sheilds being emitted lol. on second thought it wont work that way, the mod mentioned above used expanded shields to cover the whole ship but b/c the ships were bigger they were always right on top each other.

In WOW I used to be in a dungeon 2 to 3 times faster than any other party member. Not sure if I'll upgrade to W7 64 bit. I run W7 32 now and it goes like a newly made sportscar, but I'm not sure all my gadgets work on 64 bit yet. (die, Creative Technologies )
the

The game is already using more that one core... a second core is used for speed up the loading of the game... if i good remember, the loading of texture are made via the second core... it might not be clear but it has to be somewere other wise the ships would just run into each other all the time no? i could have sworn i saw something like this some where (when i was tweaking a mod) but now i dont remember were.

you can set the game to use cores from the task manager in windows (though i dont know if the game will actually use them.). if you have nvidia gfx card(s) you can force "thread optimization" which works great for me. i think sins is supposed to use multiple cores in the first place but some ppl dont see this happening. it should be noted that im running 2 9800 gtx gfx cards in sli with a q6600 that is overclocked to 3.2 ghz so your performance will very depending on your setup. follo

ok, im sure many of you are tired of seeing the ships in your fleet crashing into each other while executing turns and such. i was looking for lines in the ship files that dictates the min and max distance but didnt see it, (maybe i just missed it in my tired state) so is it in the ship files or is it someplace else? thnx for the help. you all forget that star wars was thought of from the anti balistic missle system that the US told teh USSR could shoot down anything anyone launched. so star wars was created within logical tech as star trek is pure hoping and wishing. which means STAR WARS FTW!!!! [e digicons]:P[/e] lol

idk the first one was ok but never played the second since the lack of game play (like 5 hours or something) just didnt justify 30$. i'll be interested to play the demo of this new one, though i can say if i need to upgrade my gfx cards (2 98gtx in sli and oc'ed) to play the game maxed at 1680 i wont be buying it. btw the first one was way too demanding/inefficent on the system resources.
