i have several games that are games for windows live and would of perferred that to steam actually since it's all based in the game. gamestop won't take back the game because i bought it through stardock directly to get my discounted version and while I appreciate your input and opinions my mind is set on this matter I will not run another client (especially steam if what I've been reading is true) for 1 single game.

possibly but i dont have much interest in games anymore, not many things that I find that fill a gap in my collection. bought kingdoms of amalur on release and liked it, bought ME3 and was greatly disappointed. so I'm rather put off new games atm and rebellion and farcry 3 are just as disappointing. It's all leaving a bitter taste in my mouth quite honestly.
I never said I hate steam, just that I won't be bothered going though the hassle of using it for 1 game. I only used impulse because thats the only way you could update sins, which i was fine with, and have since bought several games on it. The bulk of my games though are hard copies with a small number bought from direct2drive. My point all along is that it doesnt make sense for me to download, install and run/use yet another client since i'll have only 1 game on it. Frankly

The reason I don't want steam is because first off i already have impulse, second I never had any trouble getting updates quickly and reliably for SoaSE (or any of my other games) from impulse in the past, and third why should I have to install another client whose benefits seem to be only multiplayer side when I'll almost always play this game offline except when I play in a LAN? So will my discounted purchase of rebellion be usable through impulse? If I only need steam to play the beta then I dont care and will wait for release but if I'm going to need to use steam to d/l or use my discounted copy I'll be very aggrevated. I'm hoping that my cd key will work on impulse and I'm planning on trying to register it soon but if it doesn't what are my options?

no worries, i think we were talking about 2 different things. will the fill tool get it all after changeing the hue and all that (it should since the black is being colored evenly with only the projectile being colored unevenly b/c of its 'shade regions' right?). if all gos well i'll post some pics.
@super, i think you misunderstand gimp works great to the limited capacity that i can use it for (still learning) it was dds converter that didnt work (idk if gimp has a converter) @syneptus, i mean the actual projectile textures (in the textures folder) (dont know why i didnt just say projetile color). i noticed that its not just tga's either but any texture that has a black 'background' in it as when i change the color with color balance tool (in gimp) to get a deeper more
Hi, so i'm trying to change the color/look of weapons fire and have had mixed results. while i can change said objects to the colors i want i dont know why tga files display a box around them in game while dds files dont. I'm using gimp 2.6 and vista, i've tryed using the dds converter 2.1 but it doesnt work in vista i've also tryed saving non edited tga files as dds through gimp then editing them but it has the same effect. any help is much appriciated.
clearing the temp files must of worked (played for 2.5 hours yesterday no prob) thanks, and the mod was made by me for diplo so its not widely used [e digicons]:ninja:[/e] but i uploaded it so if anyone wants a challenge they can play it
whats an admiral ship? a flagship? an envoy? open impulse right click on diplomacy and then click on verify installation, if it says anything other than installed correctly reinstall diplomacy hope this helps.

ok i sent a email to IC support but wanted to post here incase they didnt get it/ cant figure it out. i was playing diplomacy last night when all of a sudden my monitor lost the signal and my keyboard became unresponsive (couldnt toggle num lock etc) the only thing i could do was a hard reset. this happened the last time i play diplo too. this doesnt happen when i'm playing more demanding games like bfbc2, farcry2, crysis, company of heroes only sins (havent tryed with vanilla or
might be a heat issue as its a laptop, have you checked for newer drivers on the nvidia site? try running the game on lower quality, and/or buy a chill pad for it. other than suggestion you move to a desktop to game not sure what else i can recommend, maybe get a bigger hdd
the sequal might be in 64bit though, it wouldnt be that much more work would it? as its clearly not worth it to remake the game in 64bit
