im not sure whether or not this has been said but the '0-9 allied victors/winners' seems to play a large role when stuff like this happens
uglybutz
when dip victory is on i noticed that the ais dont give a F about making pacts. which is dumb. the ais max out at like 10 friendship points no matter how much resources you bribe them with no matter how many missions you succeed at where they claim to give you 3 friendship points. just because dip victory is possible shouldnt negate the possibility of pacts with games involving ais
I actually don't even see why 4 starbases are allowed in stars to begin with.
it makes sense. firstly because in the gameworlds "reality" stars have gravity enough such that putting multiple bases in them is physically possible in a way where a planets gravity is physically limited in comparison. stars have multiple planets, sometimes huge planets, and of course many other objects, orbiting around them. a planet has a moon (or many if the planets mass/
i have a couple questions about the pirate auctions, which requires you to read through the gameplay scenario below: why is this the way it is? am i wrong about this particular set of auction mechanics? is this fixable at current game development stage, even if you wanted to? the bold and underlined are the most important parts
if you try and buy into the public auction it cancels out the private auction....you know what i mean? <span styl
But another small change that I think would do quite a bit of good is to add another small linear growth; namely, that the strength of each raid decreases proportionally with time in respect to the amount offered via public bounty.
agreed. to the mizax. it makes no sense that pirates would send 20 ships if they are only making 500 dollars
i feel the same.. the pirates should be on a random timer(4 min 5min 7 min 8 min) and demand tribu
maybe another good idea (or maybe not)...but what if the more research the pirates do, the more expensive they become, the more experience they are worth and the longer the bidding period lasts....something like that....
yes but it seems like the way it is working right now, and i could be wrong on this as my last couple Dip games have been 1v1....but if you try and buy into the public auction it cancels out the private auction....you know what i mean? go into the private auction and bid there. wait for the timer to start.....now go into the public auction and bid there....now go back into the private auction....the timer disappears (and if you wait until the end of the auction time the no-longer
seems like a story/campaign driven game is in the works
i just wanted to say that i dont care one bit about star trek but i really have been enjoying this mod despite its imperfections and imbalance. i also wanted to say that....its unclear, perhaps because i dont know much about star trek, what ships do what and what types of ammunition do what and how much power or armor a ship really has. i take a fleet into fight another fleet of comparable size and make up and most of my ships die in like 3 seconds and only a few of theirs die...
i dont really understand the entirety of how the diplomatic points system works yet. how does it make sense that a player recieve/accrue diplomacy points from someone they are not allied with or someone who is not doing their missions or them not doing someone elses missions? or rather, why should they accrue points when nobody gives F about them?
oh yeah well also....maybe just up the experience points that the pirates give and not even change how tough they are or how they level up....at least thatll make someone think twice about paying for the services of pirates if they are potentially paying for your caps to level up
one thing i would like to see if it is possible is the ability for a single player to secretly pay the pirates and publically pay the pirates at the same time. potentially winning in both auctions. right now it seems that it is all just one big auction with two different venues from which to pay. this is really too bad because there is much potential strategy thwarted by merely having the one end result. question: in the game as is right now - can a team of 3&
why should it even be an option? how would you even incorporate resource sharing? why would you want to be worried about how your teammates would spend your resources? even if you were locked teams it makes no sense that you should recieve shared income because that means youd either A} be sharing expenses and/or B} really only needing one person watching development and economy and general admin which makes no sense, especially if there is more than one fleet and more than race. youd ha
it should not be available to everyone. it makes sense for the tec ethos and it makes sense in the way it is designed as an envoy ability. the fact that not everyone can share means that you must consider all of the advantages and disadvantages of which race you should choose. you want to profit-share some resources? play tec. your team needs an advent to help spur their media hubs? help your team, play as advent.
i disagree. you can cajole all you want online. thats understood, you could do this before the diplomacy expansion. why complain because there arent buttons for cajoling a cpu? in order to make cajoling a viable thing for the developers the focus would have to be much more on the reactions of the cpu and much less on real time strategy. its like theyd have to create an entirely new game, the essence of which would not be sins of a solar empire. just saying however i do th
just finished my first game with this mod. surprisingly enjoyable. you really do slow things down and make caps much harder to kill/get. enjoyable stuff. thanks.
i like the idea of everything being a capital ship. make the fleet supply less in my opinion. less ships means ship choice is more important. make bomber strike craft much more powerful. maybe give at least one unique ability to every new cap ship. perhaps, if choices are the key to epicness, try to see if its possible to fork the research tree. so like the player has a choice between two researches (which may or may not lead to other researches) and once theyve chosen one, the other
sweet mod. thanks.
oh yeah one more thing. sorry. i feel like the AI tells me to do really dumb things sometimes to my (and their) detriment. if the Survivors are my un-locked ally in this 4 player game and they want me to attack player x and i do so and im really sweet at it and ish is really going well and im like some decent number of planets away from taking out player x i feel like it doesnt make any sense for the Survivors to then tell me to focus on player y and penalize me f
campaign, please. #1. what if there was a diplomacy ship that had to be in the gravity well of another players non-asteroid planet that gives special options? this ship is killable but the AI wouldnt auto-kill it. what if, ok, what if you donated this ship to the other player and what it did was when it was in the gravity well is it gave a lessened version of your cultural bonus (or some other type of new race/ship specific bonus/ability) or the unique ability you have to th
essikol, i think that would be really cool. send a crew extractor in to take over a military outpost which is like, a few hangers with strike craft or the building that makes frigates and cruisers
Curious, did you just go through the research tree and come up with a planet that fits each of those?
no i was just thinking of things that i think would be useful and make the game go interestingly. i think from a 'realism'
excuse me if any of this is repetitive. have a planet that you have to recolonize and rebuild all the structures/ships in its well every few minutes for whatever reason but provides some sort of bonus when you do have it colonized. maybe this could be the setup for a star that is in nova. some stars, if i remember correctly from class, explode many many times over a long period of time and that is their ultimate transference to their new type (whatever that may be) h
edit post im an idiot. if possible please try to make dynamic system optional with your new races mod manshooter, thanks ric
hey. i dont know much about the code, it could be randomizing the music, but whatever thats not what im interested in - how are you making the new music? are you using reason or fruity loops or sibelius or what?
thanks null core what does that mean "you have to be in the same directory as the .tga file" if im running the program through command lines i dont see how it is possible to be in the cmd window and in the folder with the files. or do i stick the files in the folder i unzipped nvidia dds tools too? cause i did that second one already. but then youre saying to stick the .tga file in the same directory as the .tga file and i am definitely missing something there. sorry for my sl
