Oh that's what you mean! Okay, I was thinking along the lines of some weird bug that enabled a player who wasn't in the game anymore to participate in the all-chat there. But yeah, like in most games there's a whisper function and similar to the friend chat it works across games/channels as well. Sorry, could've answered that one earlier and more satisfying, I just got confused I guess [e digicons]^_^[/e]

The dog doesn't die, damn you! Edit: Well, eventually it does, but not due to energy surge! That actually provides it with a decent life and lots of alien chicks!
Like...Siddy [e digicons]^_^[/e]
What noone ever found out is that the puppy being hit by the energy surge didn't actually die but got instantaneously (and mathematically highly unlikely) teleported safely to an earth-like planet in a far galaxy. Weird enough, this planet was inhabited by creatures similar to the terran animal called "dogs". The union of the terran and extraterran dog species spawned a peaceful and technologically advanced civilization that focussed on unravelling the mysteries of the cosmos and life itself.
You get that puppy. It's literally man's best friend, obedient, loyal and obsessed with you. The two of you spend about one happy year, when it suddenly gets utterly obliterated during one of your treasured walks through the park by an energy surge that barely missed you, coming from the sky. Still heartbroken, you watch the news later that evening: rumor has it that the testing of a new sort of drive caused a massive amount of energy to be directed straight down on earth. Luckily noone got h
EDIT\\ This just happened to me a while ago, I had 2 MB's on a primarily HC enemy fleet, and yet, even though I wasted about, oh say 20-30 100 xp. Heavy Cruisers, my capital ships didn't earn 2000-3000 xp. why? I dunno, might be so if you do waste enemy ships on that level, you won't level up as easy, so the game is still a little interesting.
If you had multiple caps there the xp gained through the MB is divided between them.
I haven't played online multiplayer, but I suspect you don't really have much time to mess around with the tree there. Maybe I'll find out one day.
Please do! Aside from the fact that MP games might be more hectic and shorter, it really makes the strategy and tactics more interesting! [e digicons]:digichet:[/e]
Can't help you there, never bothered with replays. I'm more the try&error type of guy.
Once since the patch, here. Never happened before, thankfully. "Only" minidumps and lags before.
You can ask others for replays of saved games, then. You asked for observing them "live", so I thought you wanted to talk to them about it as well etc.
You could play with unlocked teams and have vision treaty with both/all combatants.
Never did [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Looks like you are generally underpowered. Did you try getting some econ up with TEC? It's pretty cheap after all and might give you the edge in production you'd need without a SB.
Quoting koda0, reply 2Balance, people, BALANCE! If you spam LRF's, you can easily get owned by a fleet w/ scouts. If you spam scouts, you can get owned by anything other than LRM's If you spam Carriers, LRF's will kill you Spam HC's, Carriers will kill you Just balance your fleets and stop spamming, it's that simple. Koda0 (^)
You have to take into account that a) advent carriers have 50% more squadrons than yours do and b) their squadrons contain more strikecraft. Still, those big numbers come in a trade for durability, their fighters are the weakest ingame. So get about fighter_squadrons/2 flak and a bunch of fighters to kill their bombers. If your SB can take the beating keep your fighters docked until the Flak has thinned out their fighters a bit, because otherwise there might not be enough fighters left to tak
A few fighters can easily take care of siege-frigates. Just make them hold position close to them and your planet won't be in any danger. And as you already suggested, SBs can be upgraded to prevent the loss of a planet to bombardment.
Uhm...I'm sorry to disagree, but I'd definitely say that entrenchment makes 1vX AIs much easier. The AI got the IQ of a loaf of bread and goes straight for the SB, when it attacks a planet. Given that you can easily fortify chokepoints that way, are guaranteed to kill their fleet given a PJI present and are free to level up your caps there and build up a fleet...yes, I'd definitely say it makes it a hell of a lot easier. But unless you hadn't done it before: be sure to get lots of bombers as
You're serious? I've given up on it after a while, but I guess you wouldn't lie about it. Oh well, I guess the reply issue is gone as well? At least I didn't encounter it for a few days. Gogo fix the performance then, you're close to a decent forum! [e digicons]:')[/e] Edit: haha, okay, they've implemented the google custom search everyone had to use anyway [e digicons]:digichet:[/e]
Friend-chat would've been blue, unlike the usual ingame-white. So if he wrote in blue it was friend-chat. If it was white...some sort of bug I'd say. Or the AI got a social component added with the last patch [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Gonzo, we actually hear about the same rumor and one of us tried it after a minidump (thankfully those happen quite often so we could test it pretty quick [e digicons]^_^[/e] ), didn't work. It might work on some occasions, but I'd guess it's pretty rare. Did he maybe use friendlist-chat /f or was he names ICO Server? [e digicons][/e] Just messing with you, I guess it's a rare bug. Not a feature one could replicate afaik.
Be it performance, replies or the search function: the forums are somewhat...flawed. No clue how they got such an amazing game up yet the website for it is so poor [e digicons]:|[/e]
You can stil destroy the PJI, right? I'm not familiar with this mod, but if it just modifies the regular PJI and gives it an upgrade, it should still be a tactical structure being present in the same gravity-well. Shouldn't be too hard to take it/them out with a decent fleet or a quick bomber-swipe.
Yeah, but if you rely on PUGs filling up with people you really know or someone you know can vouch for, it makes Sins being even harder to play online than it already is (which is close to impossible, then). I've been in maybe..12 pug games that were close to being filled with well-known people, but I'd say that in 99% you're forced to let 1-2 unknown players in for the sake of getting the game going in less than 30minutes. More than improving the balance of pugs, though, I think it's
I think it is intended, since all structures are immune to mines. And bombers (since you already mention homing mines I figure you're playing advent) would've been a better choice anyway, in my eyes. Plus, there are some very nice uses for mines, you should try experimenting a bit with them!
You can get a game going at pretty much every hour, but it might take a while. Sadly, as Jixra has already mentioned, the community ain't that big online as one might hope for, so in worst case there are only about 2-5 games going with like 10-20 people online. The good side of this is that you get to know people pretty quickly and most likely see them again soon. So it's a fair trade in my eyes.
