Well, you've already pointed out the proper responses: a Kol would take out quite a bunch of bombers in one go, but will most likely take heavy damage doing so. Flaks will take a very long time due to bad damage-ratio against bombers. Fighters are actually your best best, since they reduce the enemy bombers pretty fast, but they're easily countered by flak. Personally, I'd prefer a mix of all that. Always aim for a mix of units. Spamming one type for a limited time is legit, but don't rely on

I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. And why on earth do I have to install dozens of CDs in order to play all the games I like and using various clients, background programs and updaters for it?! On a more serious note: are you really actually crying about the need to install a different download program in order to download/update this game? Grow up..that's like complaining about the need to have multiple contracts to get gas/power/internet/water/telephone/a place to li

Are we talking about locked or unlocked teams here? I might understand if the enginge gets confused when alliances are formed/broken all the time, but seeing pings with locked teams sounds rather serious to me. Anyway, without explanation most pings aren't informative at all, so I guess the issue ain't that important. Still, good to know. Won't ping on crucial spots anymore [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Then you're doing it wrong. By the time the Advent Battleball is strong enough to work as it should your main unit as TEC or Vasari should be the HC units.
Uhm...HC wouldn't even reach the guardians due to inferior weaponrange. Definitely not a wise choice to engage a Battleball with HCs...

Nah, posting custom maps is fine. The only problem is the distribution of those maps. Even the most common of them, i.e. Dirty Sanchez' Mappack 1+2, are rarely played because except for the 2 big clans few people downloaded and installed them properly. An automatic download option would be really appreciated...

Seriously? Wow, that's interesting. Do you happen to know in which manner they appear? Is it like every 1000th game where all pings are shown, or is it more like every 1000th ping is shown? What I mean is: does it happen randomly, or does it always happen if some conditions are fulfilled and the rest of the game is "screwed"?

Huh? Only allies can see "pings" on the map, it might've been a misunderstanding and he was talking about your ping/latency, i.e. the time it takes for your computer to receive/send data from the game via internet.

Halycon reduces the weapon cooldown, that is more effective than a plain damage-percentage increase. E.g. 50% cooldown reduction equals 100% damage increase. The exact dps formula would damage per shot / [(shots per second) * fire-ratio-constant], which would normally be 1, for unmodied. If you reduce that constant by 10% to 0.9 that'd increase the overall damage by it's reciprocal 10/9=1.11111111111, which might be pretty close to 10%, but the margin gets bigger with increasing cooldown redu

Just try sending like 2 dozen LFs against his crucial support cruisers (i.e. hoshis, guardians, subverters). They'll be first crippled and then killed. You'll most likely lose the LFs if they're in the midst of the battle, but most of the time they won't be. Support cruisers die really fast, and after that you send them after his carriers, which are most likely positioned at the edge of the grav well. If his LRFs follow - sure, your LFs will be toast. But that's the purpose of a counter. If y

Scout your enemy, be prepared for what he does and know the proper counter.

Kodiaks would've been useful, but carriers? They wouldn't do much against a fleet that consists to almost 80% of light frigates. Still, you're right about the SB thing. But I guess we all agree that LRFs would've been the best choice.

Still, to counter a fleet consisting mainly of LFs I'd refrain from getting carriers or hoshikos against the few LRMs that are present. Just

Just some additions: -at start, build 2-5 scouts, depending on the map-size. Set them on autoscout, but keep an eye on them and disable scouting and make them stop as soon as they pass neutral extractors. Your scouts can occupy those, which is extremely useful and boosts your economy A LOT! -build an imperial lab and a military lab at start. Research assailants (military) and the terran population upgrade (civ tree) -use the
