That's the one thing I'll never do. If there's anything pissing me more off than people who smurf and are proud of it it's people who smurf and start reasoning with "It pisses me off as well, but everyone does it, they stack me, boohoo, bla bla". So no, I'll stick to [_]-Azrak and Azrak
Azrak_Navarion
As of today there is one more player: I'm back! Just a matter of time until smurfs will piss me off again, but for now I'll give it a shot. Diplomacy armed and ready ofc.
While those questions weren't adressed to me I'll go ahead and answer them: You can freely customize your hotkeys and there are various precustomized sets already like grid, grid for lefties, standard etc. Controlgroup size is no longer limited, so feel free to group up as many as you want. The skill matching is...okay. Not everyone is where he belongs to and since the game's supposed to be up asap you often get grouped up with someone from a higher/lower league,
It's been almost 2 months since this thread was started and we still do not have an easy, Impulse-update-based fix for it. I really hope that we get one soon because almost every time I log onto ICO, someone is complaining about the mesh problem; it's a real eyesore for this game. Purchasers should be able to simply update their game with Impulse and then be able to flawlessly join games on ICO without having mesh problems. <
Yes.
Well, I'm certainly not the only one who's quit because he got annoyed by smurfs, so take that as a proof, Sunny. Sadly, I don't agree with Zoomers either. Sins won't revive (imo). Not because I left it for good, but rather because for every new player you might get the 'usual' decay of communities will outweigh that gain. And very very few new members are (and stay) as active as the ones you've lost/will lose.
Well, that sucks. It's bad enough with smurfing and sometimes having to wait 30 minutes for a game to get going due to a lack of players, captains and common sense...I gave Sins another shot a couple of weeks ago, but the fact that I minidumped out in 2 out of 5 games and 2 of the others were ruined by other people minidumping really pissed me off.
I'd be more active if it wasn't for the constant minidumps. It might be due to me running Windows 7 now or Sins/ICO getting even more unstable, no clue. But it kind of ruins the fun if every 2nd or 3rd game isn't finished or massively imbalanced by 1-3 guys who drop out.. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] Not to mention that the smurfing issue, if anything, got even worse. I still fail to see the fun in it.
1. Smurfing. 2. Verbal harassment, with or without the background of blaming a new player for his behaviour. 3. Stacking teams. Seriously, where's the fun in that? I can see why you like to play with your friends, but it's not like facing them in combat is any less fun. 4. Prolonging the game when it is without a doubt decided. 5. Bragging with your victory - bad winners are just as bad as bad losers. 6. Playing with the sole reason of winning instead o
Depends on his strategy. If he just lets his fighters engage in air combat with yours you'll be able to inflict some considerable damage with your assailants, maybe kill his cap etc. The Skirantras will help your strikecraft to survive a lot. But if he starts targeting your assailants with fighters I'd retreat and get a bunch of flaks, which would counter both the scouts and the fighters.
Woah, what did I say that you couldn't express? That decent people are helpless towards the abuse of loopholes in a rule system which makes enforcement by devs necessary? Or that you simply do what 'everyone' does? Which is sort of a dumb excuse, because when literally everyone does it just because 'everyone' else does it it becomes hollow.
It's looking awesome for the bad team, because 80% (and I'm being fairly careful with my guess here) don't even bother to check the forums and thus won't make their opinion known and 90% of those smurf all day. You win, we lose. That's why there's the need for rule enforcement in this world. A single human might be capable of rational behaviour (not necessarily though), but a large group just gets out of control because sooner or less everyone acts solely to his advantage since 'everyone else
Pretty much everything I think about the matter can be found here: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/356154 Some people agree, most don't. But like Quar said, it doesn't matter at all as long as it's possible. I've never smurfed, never will, but it doesn't make a real difference. I feel for you, though...
Might be a wild guess, but...did he actually scuttle his homeworld...? You know, that little bar above the planet picture..?
Glad to see that there are still people annoyed by smurfs. Maybe that way they'll 'fix' this issue one day, and that will be the day I return to the online community.
Google can help you...or the technical forum. Both would've resulted in: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/341480
My bet would be https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/341480 Google is your friend, you know? [e digicons]^_^[/e]
You weren't in a pocket, I was between you and the guy I rushed. Your marza would've forced me to retreat/lessen my hold on your ally. Anyway, no hard feelings.
Sooner or later, given no alternative, I'd agree with you. But since there are a lot of alternatives...we'll see.
Tell you what, I'll go on strike. Won't play until this ridiculous system is history. See you in Starcraft 2 otherwise...
Feel free to message me as well, I'm [_]-Azrak. In general most people will be fine if you're new to the game under the condition that you ask for and listen to advice. Don't spam lightfrigates, stationary defenses (except for rep bays on the frontline) or cap ships. And whenever you aren't sure what you should do or notice that everyone else is doing it completely different: ask for advice! The only thing that pisses me off is newbies who don't talk at all and then ragequit after they lost t
Yeah, it tried german as well. Could be better, could be worse. Google-translated I guess [e digicons]^_^[/e]
As a certified noob, I'd like to say thanks to Amish for these tips. The world is Sins (especially multi-player) is one that is particularly hard to get into, even for an RTS. It's not just the complete lack of information when you fire up the game (the tutorials are very basic, but I think that lack of a campaign to let you in gently hurts new Sins players), but also the fear of complete failure at the hands of more experienced player that isolates
Plain and simple: yes
Are you using Impulse? Otherwise you can't download recent updates. The email-thingy sounds strange though. Did you maybe already register and forgot your account details? I bet there's an option to let them be mailed to your adress.
