King of kings won't ever listen to criticism of any sort, so just rest assured that everyone except him gets it...convincing 99.99999% of all the people online ain't that bad [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Azrak, even some of the least-skilled online players (normally new players who are only used to playing against the AI) are more challenging than the AI.
I was just kidding (hinted at by the smiley), of course I agree with you. The AI is really bad. Even if someone with a kickass economy leaves and the AI takes over it doesn't seem to be able to channel that crazy income into something useful.
Intelligent and cunning opponents? Are there multiple servers? [e digicons]^_^[/e]
It's plain and simple: no matter how bad it's going for you, you can still help your team win, as long as you have a single planet, fleet, cap or colonizer still alive. You can delay, harass, annoy and distract. Leaving just because you lost a fight or don't have the upper hand or the enemy fleet isn't blowing up in a fancy lightshow (though yours is) and thus leaving just sucks for your team. I wholeheartedly agree with Hack here.
Clicking the button below the image is fun as well, just give it a try and wait a minute [e digicons]^_^[/e] Works best on caps and SBs!
The only tech that you don't lose afaik is the ability to colonize ice/volcanic planets.
I'd gladly improve my etiquette as soon as experience stops being that people noone knows go around flaming/leaving/ruining games [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Most likely they didn't know they'd kick you. First priority is always to fill up the game. 2nd priority would be the quality of the players ingame. Probably another game ended after the 20min you waited and suddenly there was an abundance of players available, thus enabling them to choose according to the 2nd priority. And let's be honest: pretty much everyone would do the same.
It's not like there's no chance at all for you to play even with the most skilled and elite (in a sense of "exclusive") company online. I'm pretty new to online gaming myself (only started playing after entrenchment came out) and still got to know a lot of people pretty fast. You play with people they know or meet there smurfs -> you're "in". Look at it from their point of view. Let's say you're in a 5v5 match, which will likely last about 1-2 hours. The enemy team consists of a clan (for
The problem is that people always prefer to play with guys that they know and trust, so as not to waste 1-2hours on a game ruined/left by a stranger. It's just a risk you'll have to take until you get to know some people and bond with them.
Are you in a rush to increase your post count...? I mean, come on, triple post? Just make one post and include all your anwers their...like: @hack: jerk @SnoopDaggo: jerk @Azrak: jerk @All: sorry etc etc [e digicons][/e]
You might want to use the edit-button instead of replying to your own post [e digicons]^_^[/e] Anyway, this guide is way closer to a real guide concerning military strategy than the last one. Why only "closer"? Well, military strategy includes counters, attack strategies, fleet compositions, infomation retrieval and how to use that information against the enemy (i.e. scouting and what to do when certain "signs" are spotted). However, one guide doesn't need to cover all
Try to use cricism to improve this thread instead of giving up as soon as there are flaws spotted by others...geez, did you rip up your exams as well, if the teacher corrected something, calling him a smartass and quitting school to try something else? [e digicons]:|[/e] Noone reads and comments this post for entertainment, but rather to shape it up and make it better than it is at the moment...
There's nothing idiotic about the fact that you want to write guides. But before doing so you should acquire the appropriate knowledge and talk with people who got more experience. And you should welcome criticism and include the points of those critics in your OP instead of flaming those who try to improve/correct the guide...
Early game: illums and flak Mid game: add carriers and guardians with repulsion Lategame: holy trinity (halycon, mothership, radiance) and a shitload of illums in your battleball That should summarize the most common tactics for the advent. Depends on the map whether or not (and if so, when) to get trade, culture etc.
He added that later to the OP, so it's kinda hard to spot. Nontheless: with 2 Halycons and sufficient Fighter coverage he should've been able to protect his fleet against the bombers with proper micro-management, i.e. timing the telekinetic push of the 2 carriers, setting up the shield protection of guardians etc.
Tired of this discussion...flaks are a bad option against bombers, you'd have to spend far more money on flaks than he has to spend on bombers, period. That makes it a bad counter. Whereas 1 fighter squad will easily keep 2 bomber squads at bay, making it a good counter. Plus they'll be able to pursue the bombers whereas the flaks (not flanks, god damn it [e digicons]^_^[/e] ) won't be able to do that, even with telekinetic push. @superfleet: there's no such thing as
Like I said...if you build enough, anything can kill everything. Fighters are still the better choice against bombers, flak are way more useful against fighters. Plus: if you push the bombers away with telekinetic push the flak won't be able to do shit.
Flaks don't do much against bombers, wrong damage/armor-type combination. I'd advise a bunch of fighters and 2 Halycons to keep pushing the bombers out of range. With enough fighters 1 might suffice. Still, like How said...it's not necessarily a matter of proper counter-strategies but rather the fact that you got outproduced. Even though a LF is the proper counter to Scouts it will still lose against 20 of them [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Guys, ofc he can install and update it as many times as he wants to, but the problem will be whether or not of the game can be used via LAN, and I doubt that.
Actually, I have no clue. However, very few games enable Multiplayer with the same copy. Those who do have a "spawn" version of the game, which Sins doesn't, i.e. an installation that solely works for multiplayer and usually only for a limited number of players (e.g. max. 3 spawns per original in the LAN-game). It'd sort of ruin their income if one copy of Sins enable innumerable players to use it via LAN, eh?
Someone here is very very cranky.
Hack is right, writing a guide does involve responsibility and credibility. Your guide has a lot of flaws and doesn't cover most of the more important strategies and things you've got to keep in mind in a military conflict. Thus he tries to prevent people who simply don't know better to mistake it for the holy grail [e digicons]^_^[/e]
However, I like the abundant use of exlamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, minidumps spoil the fun for sure. In average I'd say it happens every 5-10h play-time, so about every 5th game is ruined.
