You mean it says "Disconnected from Ironclad Online" when you attempt to log on? Is that what the problem is?

Oops, looks like it. I just copy/pasted the text explanation I had for what sort of gameplay the damage/armor types imply...
The forums themselves are quite buggy in general, unfortunately...
not when i say that it, would say preparing, and then after a spell would say error, and it has stayed that way.
What exactly does the error say? That's the key to solving your problem. My initial completely wild guess would be a lack of space on your hard drive, but that's probably wrong, especially given the side of them nowadays. Since you're able to attempt a download, it sounds like your Games
You can't play with more than 10 people.
Take the CD key you got the game(s) with, register it on Impulse (now called Gamestop), and you should be able to update your game... that's the general idea, if you're having problems, tech support can try to help you, but if you say what the problem is here on the forum we might be able to help you. But SD support, while sometimes slow, is probably your best bet.
If you both have bought the game legitimately, you should be able to register the CD keys on Impulse (now Gamestop) and then update the games, and then play on LAN or on ICO.
If you only play single-player you're missing out on 95% of the strategy Sins has to offer! :( If you explain your problem in an appropriate thread I'm sure guys can help you figure out the problem.
yah. homeworld had the right idea of having all the different formations. if we could have that implemented in SOASE then we would have some REAL fun happening. and more control over squadrons too! i hate how they all bunch up and just become a mass. sometimes just glitching into one fighter/bomber. if we could change there formation too lotsah good stuff!
The more time they spend moving and deciding what formation to get int

With me even if I autoplace I have no problems with defenses, usually with autoplacement, the defense would autoplaced near it so that with mine, defense turrets, and hangar bays everything is pretty much covered. Of course, with autoplacement, there is a more concentration of defenses near buildings like my frigate and capital ship factory.
.... Uh... do you play comp
Well if you were in that game with them, you should be able to look at your autorecord folder to see them, right? Nearly all of the ICO regulars have a pretty good sense of the first 15 minutes, it isn't all that complicated, especially if you've played a good number of games and understand the game mechanics. Take your roid, build a moderate fleet of the proper ships to fight off enemy caps and their initial fleet, if you're Vasari get all the neutrals you can, ma
Yeah, autoplacement is extremely bad, especially when defense and seconds matter, in competitive games.

Sorry for it being so late, but I just didn't have any fun at all last game, and I'd like to avoid a repeat experience.
They REALLY shouldn't have set it up as a 4v4 last time. You'd have been happier if your team had actually had a chance. Don't stack the teams.
True enough, but you have to realize its not like anyone helped us to the top either, we got here on our own, and for the most part I expect others to do the same. I could spend a large chunk of my time on ICO being nice, helpful, loving, open to growth, et cetera, but for what? The sad fact of ICO is that it is still plagued to this day with minidumps (while not as frequent, still a problem), massive endgame lag, and low player co
Well if you're finding that using lots of early Meteor starbases is an effective tactic, then evidently you're playing against the AI... in which nearly any strategy can work, really, because the AI is an opponent with no sense of how, uh, not to charge head-on into an enemy starbase (or other superior force). If I play an AI opponent like that I usually find that carriers with bombers are the best tactic, because the AI doesn't know how to deal with lots of bombe
A lot of this depends on what sort of game you're playing, which matters because it determines the amount of space between homeworlds. If you're playing one of the common 5v5 games, homeworlds are 2 to 4 phase jumps away from each other usually, and so you have to invest completely in military to fight your nearby enemy; if one of you builds 2 or 3 civic labs to get culture instead of military tech, and then researches/builds culture structures, a very large amount of funds would be u

It would really be nice if ICO displayed a more specific error message, instead of just "Disconnected from Ironclad Online" every single time. For instance: "Internet connection not found" "Unable to resolve IP" "Disconnection due to timeout" etc.
