Good info but less obnoxious allcaps etc plz.

Once you've gotten a good collection of bombers, there's nothing that can stand in your way if you're playing the AI, and continuing is a bit pointless. Everything's researched, the enemies are all dead, what else would there be to do...
Emptysun, make a new thread if you want to discuss this.
I've been leaning strongly towards this same sentiment but in truth don't play Advent enough to see how effective Guardians are in different situations. The Hoshiko is one of TEC's greatest early-game advantages. The Guardian, while nice, is also expensive, and soaks up damage rather than reducing/preventing/repairing. But also remember that the Guardian can get the Repulsion ability, which can be incredibly useful in some situations. (of course Hoshikos can also g

Sins is already plenty complicated enough to master without all of these new limitations.

The carrier capital ship is generally the ship of choice in terms of pure firepower, and is often the only capital ship some players build in cramped multiplayer games like 5v5. But in more spacious maps like 1v1 and 2v2, the colony cap (which every race has) is a much better choice, especially if you know how to use it well. Many competitive players almost completely ignore the other capital ships, although some of the others can be useful in certain niche situations. Example: an exp

I'm just describing a few things which can improve playability a bit.

Turning effects and unit details down or off can help. So can trimming your empire tree (so I've heard). Also, although most players play on Faster, slowing speeds down somewhat can also increase performance. Also, if you have other applications running or are playing in Windowed mode, that might cause slight issues.

Once Sins settles down (in terms of new patches) I hope to made a small noncombat adjustment mod, taking the best ideas on how to improve culture, make trade port spams less viable, and now probably this as well. Of course would that be a good change globally or only on maps like this where everything is in the center?
Your mod, your choice, of course.
Storm Front is balanced, and has three main 'lanes' of attack that are not easy to choke, through the gas, star, and magnetic-storm-magnetic. Also, Storm creates 'skirmish space' between the two main groups of planets and between the two smaller side groups of planets, as well as by its use of dead asteroids. This both allows more room for manoeuvre without the creation of vast fleets as a byproduct, and means that the struggle over a single central planet is rarely dec

In that situation, I would have done 10 scouts, (1 additional for scouting, 9 for assisting mothership), 1-2 colony (depending on scouted asteroid density) and then a mothership with them. You can boom pretty fast with that as any rate, and without anyone attacking you, the differences in eco in that strategy are negligable. You just kill kors
Halfway decent English would also be nice, Mr. TEC Empire. I'm sure all modern browsers have spell/grammarcheck. Also, planet "size" is already accounted for, in a way, through different planet types. Asteroids are small. Deserts and Terrans are big. The others are medium.

What I noticed from the replay: Krdax started by building some LFs and took 4 minutes to queue his first capital ship, which just sat on his HW for a few minutes :(. He built a SB on his front asteroid choke, which was run over by Howthe?'s 30 Assailants and Evacuator, which then melted his tiny fleet and flagship (which he didn't even try to retreat). Howthe? built and upgraded a SB on the asteroid for some reason. After a moderate delay Howthe? eventually brought his flee

Also, when using culture, keep in mind that culture centers are expensive and using more than one of them in a 3-lane radius isn't usually a good idea, because investing in a trade port instead would generate a bit more income while also being cheaper. I usually just build once culture center near my homeworld, and then maybe one more on or near my front lines, but that's all. Also, a more appropriate topic of this threa
Culture is rarely very significant in competitive games. Military will always trump culture. Sure, you might have built 4 culture structures and have gotten all of the culture research upgrades, but a halfway decent enemy will just warp in and bomb out your structures and planets with their superior fleet. Fleet firepower trumps nearly everything. Although culture can sometimes be useful for choking out an entrenched enemy in a pocket on their homeworld, it's not very significant
