Scaling ships smaller does not have to be a negative due to grav well transverse time. You can easily make speeds double, increase mass and speed up time so they may take a few seconds to get to speed but once they do, zoom zoom zoom. I suggested this in SoA, and to have structures meant to help speed in friendly wells so you can build "Speed Path Highways" or something. mephistopheles
It's not just a m

Short answer: the AI is kind of dumb. The higher difficulties essentially just get resource cheats- which is why in general AI is at it's strongest early game when the player doesn't have a mature economy yet. In general due to it's poor tactical choices and lack of ability to predict the player or apply effective counterplay once you get into the stage of the game where the major bottleneck is fleet supply rather then resource cost the AI has basicall

honestly a realistic scale would render the game unplayable. Either ships would be essentially microscopic, or gravity wells would be so large it would take utterly unreasonable times to traverse. In the proper scale individual planets would likely be larger then entire 30+ planet solar systems are now. Increasing the size of the planets by a factor of 2-3 won't make it anymore realistics, so why not just accept it as a necessary consequence of good ga

What exactly makes the TEC/Advent "balanced" and Vasari not? The balance here comes out clearly from their direct comparison, in which case, who decides, which side is the balanced one and which side is not?
This not necessarily the case.

If they are bomber spamming massing carriers carrying fighters will do(fighters counter bombers) it. Add in some light frigates(light frigates are the best at killing the source of the strikecraft the carriers themselves) to actually hunt the carriers if you're still at a stage of the game where they won't just feed the enemy titan. Once titans roll out if you use light frigates and how you utilize them will depend on the titan(in this case your first priority is a
I just dont think the Maw ability to kill bigger number of units than other Titan AoEs should be nerfed, simply cause it actually requires timing, bit of skill and most importantly lot of luck to get desired effect, its simply more random than things like Dissever or Chastic Burst, which give you results every battle. Those results are indeed not as spectatular as the Maw ones, but there is no risk with them that you basically "miss" a
So i have 3 questions: 1. How does the Antimatter related Titan upgrade works? It says it affects ability cooldown, what does that mean? For example, if put some points into it, does that mean that Deploy Phase Stabiliser on level 4 will take less than 600 seconds it is supposed to take to recharge? Or any other titan ability with cooldown...
Think of it like attack speed for abilities. It doesn't directly reduce

Ok, now I finally have time for an in depth response to the OP. Here I'll list some examples of possible solutions from my own ideas and also ideas that have been floating around on the forums. Ideas that are not my own (which is most of them) are marked with an asterisk. Any input would be greatly appreciated. &nbs

The advent loyal tech I'd really like to see drop a tier or 2 is Assimilated populace. As is it's too deep to be worth grabbing in time for the initial wave of colonization. Assim is perfect for early expansion, and if it were T2 or T3 it could actually be grabbed in time. By and large though I like most of your changes- I'll post a more detailed response later.

The changes I'd like to see to the Ankylon are the following: Disruption Matrix: Change the Vorastra's level 5 ability 'The Maw' to a channel so disruption matrix can actually interript it [comments: this would give the TEC loyals their much needed countermeasure to The Maw. That +10 per level almost negates the extra shots you could be getting from the bonus antimatter you gain from levels. Keeping it a flat 50 would go a long way towards making it an early game ship. Goa's pretty much right on every point. Anything will work in single player against AI sure, but against realy players who know what they are doing, massing capitalships, overinvesting in research, or choosing capitalships poorly will make you lose. If you are vastly better then your opponent in micro & scouting you may win, but you are putting yourself at a substantial disadvantage. Overinvesting in static defenses is also a mistake players new to
