AGainst a smart player you're less likely to kill their fleet with said starbase. Experienced players get a bit suspicious when you're being defended by a TEC starbases with minimal weapon & hull upgrades(that has "rigged to blow" written all over it). In this case experienced players will probably just attack the starbases with a small detachment of their fleet(it won't take a very large detachment to kill a starbases without any weapon

Also don't forget that the Akkan's Colonize ability probably has the best early game secondary effect of any of the 3 race's colony capships(since early game players are generally trying to keep resources spent on planetary upgrades to a minimum). This provides a handy early game economic advantage when starting with the Akkan. Also, in addition to the strong economy it's self the TEC also has good tools for uttilizing that strong economy by ofrcin

[quote who="Seleuceia" reply="18" id="3230658"] Quoting bilun, reply 15Well to be fair, if the Akylon is far away from the ships it wants to shield, the current implementation does allow it to shield it's allies from further away(since the shield is applied in a radius around the target)- so for example it can actually shield allies outside the range of the ability by targeting a closer ally that is at the edge of the ability's range. The range of the ability is 4000m.

I still think the key to making this ability higher impact lies in allowing it to proc Assim Populace(which unfortunately according to Yarlen is not a bug) and improving the Advent Loyal techs relevant to "owned" worlds(Coward's Submission, Global unity, & Planet-for-a-planet). That way, stealing control of the planet becomes very significant as the "home turf" bonuses you get for Repossessing the world may actually be a deciding factor in the attack.

The Gauss damage in the infocard includes both the Ragnarov's Frontal and rear Gauss Guns. Frontal Gauss guns are only 45.7 DPS as compared to the railgun's 100. Not to mentions while they have the same DPS, due to longer weapon cooldowns, each barrage of the frontal Gauss guns deals total less then 1/3 the damage of the Railgun firing. Longer weapon cooldowns are also mechanically advantageous as they can allow more damage to be dealt before shield

I'm deep in an obssession with this game. Started playing 2 days ago, managed my first win last night, still have 2 ships I haven't unlocked yet though. But yeah, I've been playing almost non-stop with all my free time. As others have already said, killing the final boss is easy if you kill off most of it's crew in the first stage. Basically I won the first time I played a boardi

So I just had an interesting thought: While it certainly has useful skills, the Ankylon really lacks any sort of wow-factor gamechanging capabilities. So on to the point: What if disruption Matrix also disabled Strikecraft(both engines & weapons) in addition to it's current effects(perhaps with a slight duration reduction)? This would certainly give the Ankylon a completely unique gamechanging tool(no
