Well.... If more people are like me, they click on the link, see they have to install something and decide they are not THAT interested after all... Sorry... I don't know the size of the map, or how this player works, but would it be possible to post a screenshot or something?

I've read the first Shannara book, started on the second but I couldn't get into it... But as Fantasy and Science Fiction are my favourite genres, I'll give you some hints if you want to go beyond Terry Brooks. There are so many good / great fantasy writers out there, don't have time to read them all [e digicons]:([/e] But I've collected a reasonable library over the years. Some of my favourites include J.R.R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings off course...), Elizabeth Moon (The D
Just to clarify.. I thought we can only build 1 starbase in every gravity well?
You can build up to 4 star bases in the gravity well of a star...
Just finished a game 1 on 1 against a hard AI. This was on a 3 star map with me and the AI starting in our own star and a third star up for graps. The AI surrendered after I took 2 planets from it which it had colonized in the third star. I hadn't even started invading the planets in its own star. Some other thoughts about the AI... - When there is a large bounty on an opponent, and the bounty doesn't go down, there isn't really any need to keep increasing it. At the end of th
I have Stardock Central installed on my D: drive, and I'm installing the game there also and anyways, I have around 25 GB free on my C:. So that shouldn't be a problem either... I'll try and install it on another PC this evening after work and see if that works, but meanwhile any tips are still appreciated.
Well, I'm installing it on a disk with about 20 GB free space, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm using XP 64 and installing with administrator rights. I was able to install the game before without any problems, but after installing the latest patch, I had a few problems, so I thought to do a complete uninstall / install to be sure I had all the correct files. Hope that helps...
I'm trying to reinstall Sins, but I'm having a bit of a problem. The download of the game-files (sins.xml and sins.sdc) seems to have been successful, but during the installation, the progress bar stops at 7% (Extracting: PLANETMODULE_PHASEORBITALCOMBATLABOR...). I tried deleting both the sins.xml and .sdc files and downloading them again, but I still get the same result. Any ideas?
but that would only result in them being thrust away from the ship at a great, and probably deadly, velocity Could be nice, if you can time it right, you can sling all your bombers / fighters to the enemy at an increased speed... Instant kamikaze attack
I like it At the moment the bonus for exploring all your planets seldom is good enough to repay the money you lost, some extra (smaller) boni which could be more common would help with that.
Personally i would like to see the damage of bombers upped quite a lot against later ships (2x against cruisers and 4x against caps) but lowered against smaller ships (1/2 against frigates 0x against other fighters and bombers) In my last game I had a rather big fleet of bombers, and in one fight I had them destroy a lvl 5 cap ship (can't remember the type) with full shields and health in one bombing run. If anything, I think bombers are overpowered alre
you could make it vary based on map size. Well, in a way it is already based on map size because the fleet cap is dependant on the number of planets you have, I don't think there should be any other limit then that.
A cap of 2000 is... a Large Number of Ships Yes, it is a large number of ships, but when you're playing a large galaxy, with multiple stars, you need a large number of ships to protect all your planets. Certainly now that there aren't any phase lanes between
I've been playing a game in the 'Areolian Sector' map over the weekend, and while I was busy steamrolling the AI's with my big fleet, grabbing their planets and upgrading them, I noticed that the fleet points I had left stayed at 114 all the time. I didn't lose any ships so I started noticing that the number didn't change. When I finished the game, and had a look at the after game statistics, I noticed that there seems to be a hard cap on 2000 fleet points. Isn't this a bit low? I reached th
Fixed tradeships not avoiding enemy planets if a safer route is available (we swear we got it this time!). Over the weekend, I played a game in the Areolian Sector map and I noticed that tradeships sometimes still take the shortest, dangerous route instead of the longer safe route. I had colonized most of the star system I started in, and was building tradepost all around but there were a few planets I had only scouted out. Some of the tradeships thought
If you put your important planets in a hotkey group, you can select them easily and thus have them show up in the tree Aaah, never thought about trying that... Thanks for the tip.
We are also interested in your feedback on the selection based empire window. You can turn this on in options > User Interface If you can, it would helpful to use this for a full game and let us know what you think. I really like the selection based empire window, I never used the other one after I found out about the selection based one... One thing that could make it even better (I think...), is if we would be able to giv
Nice list, always interesting to read someone else's strategy...
I think I found a crash bug in the game. I've been playing a very large galaxy (20 stars, 400 planets) and I've just about cleaned out my own starsystem. I have a scout looking around in a neighbouring starsystem, and when I zoom out I can already see a few planets in that starsystem. When I move my mouse over one of these planets, the game crashes. I've been able to get this crash a few times now in this large game, but I haven't been able to

Hmmm, I must have missed that part in the FAQ (and I still find the message a bit confusing...), guess I'll mail them just in case, better they get them twice then not at all...
when the game crashes and makes a dump file, it asks 'Would you like to send this file to the programmers who caused it and can fix it?'. If I answer 'yes' here, is the dump file send automagically, or is it just saved so I can send it myself?
My feeling is that the zoom functionality didn't only change when using 'Zoom to cursor', but also when this is turned off. When I was playing a bit yesterday, I had some problems trying to zoom into a battle, either I coulnd't zoom in any closer while I was still looking at icons, or the zoom would go to fast and right by the ships. In both cases I could get this resolved by first double clicking on the ship I wanted to toom into, and then zooming again.
Actually it does show if you select the nebula. Some disable the use of antimatter effects; others prevent fighters/bombers from being able to launch, among other things. Strange, I really thought I had the Nebula selected... but I just checked and it does
I've just about finished a small random galaxy against one easy AI player... I got 3 new gravity wells. 2 Asteroid Belts which you can't colonize and which contain not nearly enough asteroids I think (but that might be me ) and a Magnetic Nebula which looks nice, can't be colonized and doesn't seem to do anything else but sit there twinkling in the dark. Is it suppose to do something? Disable sh
