Hmmm...I just Dowloaded this program on 5/7/08 and I love it!Being a somewhat "good" mapmaker on Warcraft III this made this game a whole lot better, and I was very disapointed how I couldn't make my own little maps with the game's editor.but anyways, I made a little map for myself to play. But it seems that it's not available in-game.You know how to fix this? I have it save to: | C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy | and it's named "AWAR". Any suggestions?

Can anyone help??
Nope. ;) It's probably because the folder is hidden. Because of the braindead way windows works (the first programmers who get set up at the wall after the revolutions comes) you have the set it in the order options to show up. From a sticky in this forums:
* Where are the files kept for Sins of a Solar Empire (such as screenshots and such?) Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\I

You aren't a shit talker, you're just a sexist who thinks he can act like an asshole on the net and not get to face the consequences of it. Posting about this on other forums and being proud of your little act doesn't make you a hero
can i play solo mission and disable mission ( those from the bots ) and lock the teams so the AI can't jump off the team ?
Yes you can, if you mean by solo missions skirmish games against the AI.
a little less vulgar?
How can a font be vulgar? ;p Anyway, there is a folder called Font in your SinsOfASolarEmpire folder. There you could replace the font you don't like with one you like.
Well, this usually happens when you use a map placed in the galaxy folder under either: Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ and not in the galaxy folder in the place where the game got installed. If this is not the case, it's probably because you've either tweaked the GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef
Anyone know why?
Apart from not having set the 1 in the version number, no clue. But if you're sure everything is correct with your map, you could upload it so we could take a look at it and try it too.
Looks pretty, those new booms. ;) The only suggestion I have, is to make the explosions (especially the TEC nukes) last longer. I never liked it that the explosion cloud vanished so fast. So if it is in your abilities, if you could make them last about twice as long as now, I would be happy. (Only the explosion cloud, not just make the explosion slower.) :)
You need Adama Repack Mod for this map to work Installation instructions are included in the file (link in the post header above), but basically you just need to place the files inside the Adama Repack Mod folder and then play the map (called CampMap01) in the game. -------------- Important issues with the map <br
/steaming
I'll take black tea, please. ------------- Honestly, it sounds like you had some bad luck. When doing a FFA, the easiest way to ally is to do the early missions of giving credits and resources as fast as possible. That way I'm usually able to ally with at least one AI after about 15min game time. Just try again. :HOT:
Could Sins have gotten higher scores if it had waited another six months and incorporated a single player campaign, stronger AI and more content? Probably.
Even higher scores? Wouldn't that be, sort of nearly mathematical impossible? ;)
I would be content with fixed starting positions and being able to name races in the map definitions. For the moment, that is...
Thx kryo. Didn't know that. :SURPRISED:
1. Yes 2. Doubling afaik. But look at the planet info card for details. 3. One is usually enough.
Is it possible to change the z axis position for planets etc?
No.
so what exactly is different between medium and hard?
Better AI algorithms. I.e. on hard the AI doesn't retreat that fast and shouldn't retreat from it's homeworld, for example.
Try Hard. The AI only gets a +100% economic bonus on unfair. So playing hard the AI is still fair.
and it should not be taught as proof that there is no creator. When you start teaching it as proof of a Godless universe, you are teaching a religious viewpoint, and supposedly that is not allowed in public schools.
When did it ever got thought like that? Please, no straw man arguments. I need that straw for the animals. ;)
Does anyone has any luck with loading a map from the custom galaxy folder (the one under user/stuff, not the one in the game itself) without the game going insta-defeat? I just tried to place some maps into the galaxy folder for testing purposes and it didn't worked. (The maps are fine btw. they work in the normal sins galaxy folder in the game folder itself.)
Ok, the mistake you made is simple. You have the numbering of the planets wrong. Planet numbering works the following: Star 0 Planet 0 Planet 1 Star 1 Planet 0 Planet 1 Planet 2 Planet 3 Star 2 Star 3 Planet 0 Planet 1 So on each planet, the numbering begins new at 0. So, the first idea you had is correct. But you need to do the numbering as I show above, then everything will work out great. :)
Something in the game brings down even modern CPUs
Amount of units and AI. Oh, and malice is bugged at the moment. It brings every computer to a screeching halt when used on large fleets. But that isn't your problem, I guess.
