Wow its just like A Never Ending Story: (Picture) Thats what happened when I tried to load a game last night. I reloaded and the nothing was still there and I thought "ARGREREREAREAR!" and then everything poped up so its ok. I have another bug: KRYO LOST TO EET! Could it be related to the zoom functions? Did you try and click on a planet in the Empire window?

i made it readable... yeah, you did. he post you skipped over... Eh, more like spent 3 seconds on before deciding that if I can't get past the first sentence, its not worth the time. OK, I skipped over it. And its not like you labeled it as a quote! Trade and Refinery ships should be reduced in priority for combat ship

I'm pretty sure they already can? I'm pretty positive I've seen 'em firing off-plane. Yeah, they can. I'm guessing that Nova seriously misunderstood the point. I replied to the following. Wrong. As was said above, you can easily avoid gauss cannons by flying over them or under them, making them useless against a human player.</div

Trade and Refinery ships should be reduced in priority for combat ships to the point that they come after any opposing ships and structures. There's little point in blowing them out of the sky while there is still an enemy presence in the gravity well in the form of ships or structures. Even Firefox has built in grammar correction now a days. That's like the ultimate tool above and beyond all else. <br/

Wrong. As was said above, you can easily avoid gauss cannons by flying over them or under them, making them useless against a human player. This sounds more like the Gauss turrets should be able to rotate it's turrets, as opposed to being fixed to fire along the X/Y axis only. As for 3D movement, and wanting fleets to fly over other fleets, I can't see how that accomplishes anything of value. The opposing ships would simply lift their front

It's from July 26th so really old news, but I didn't see it posted anywhere so figured it might be news to some other people as well. It's an interesting insight in to the history of Stardock, plus it mentions a possible release date for their fantasy 4x game. 2009 seems like a distant future though, with public beta in 2008. The mere mention of a MoM like game, in combination with the talent of Stardock, makes me long for 2009 to come around already. Someone hook me up wi

Just a heads up, there's a stickied thread in the General section of the forums for Technical feedback, ie. bugs. In case you missed it. People tend to post there regarding issues such as the Last Flagship Standing. Sins Beta 2 - Technical Feedback Thread Link

Jperzio, would you please restate your comment more clearly? In fact, might I recommend that you type your posts out in word, or some other processor, and spell / grammar check them before you post them? You're very hard to read, and I usually just end up skipping your posts. Spellcheck.net is a tool I used a lot my self some years back. That and google

A phase jump inhibitor would fix that in a heart beat. As of the latest patch the Phase Jump Inhibitor only blocks travel to other planets under your control. So the AI would still have been able to jump back in the above scenario. Unless it came from one of your other controlled planets. In other words, the PJI doesn't do much for borderline fighting at the edge of controlled space.

Another thing to note, is the Trade ships from Trade Ports travels through hostile territory instead of taking a slightly longer route through safe and friendly territory. The pilots fly to their doom, which is a bit silly.

There was an answer in the above post. I'm pretty sure you don't, and even if you do it's insignificant in comparison to how many crystals you'd have spent in the end on the research line.

no one posted Tabula Rasa? Don't get your hopes up for that game, unless of course you've already played the beta in which case, fair enough if you think it's decent.

Depleted asteroids yields 0.1-0.2 at best with all techs if memory serves me right (I'll have to check next game). Not to mention the crystal cost to research either tech is considerable, especially mid-late game where Crystals are a rare commodity unless you have an Ice planet. The Crystal tech really should be moved down to cost the same as the Metal tech while we're on this topic.

-When you have lots of Robotics cruisers, I had trouble getting them to auto-cast their repair droids on my nearby capital ships, I kept having to manually do it. I don't think you can have multiple ships repairing the same target -- is that the problem? I'm fairly certain you can't. You'll notice at times that all your Hoshiko for instance may target the same ship for re

Q4. Is there anyway to quantify what benefits Trade centers provide? I am wondering how long it takes to recoup the intial credit cost. Mouse over your credits total. It'll display the amount you generate at the bottom of the list. I'm not certain how often that amount is generated however. A shot in the dark is the average over several seconds, or even average per minute. I haven't crunched any numbers so going purely by gut instinct. Tr

Addendum to the original post. I played another game of 2v2 with Hard AI's that ended just a hair short of 7 hours. I read through the post-game charts at the end, and noticed that the AI ends up selling a lot of it's resources on the black market, where as it should instead focus more on trade ports and taxes to generate credits. AI should also spend more on combat research, it doesn't appear to be spending much beyond researching the Cruisers it seems. It needs a higher focus

Trade Ports is more then adequate, and definitly doesn't need an increase in the amount of credits they provide. Refineries however are an issue late game when you deplete the available resources, the amount of crystal you gain is abysmal.
