I'm partial to the Marza, it's a very powerful ship mid-late game. And it's more then adequate early game along side some light frigates to blast the initial pirates away.

Hoshiko Rbotics Cruisers are chasing the trade ships around to repair them in the middle of a planetary assault or defense. Their pilots will be shot at dawn for crimes of stupidity against the Empire. They need to ignore them, they fly in to gauss cannons range and ignore the most important role, and that is to repair the main fleet. I even had a Hoshiko phase jump with a trade ship while it was repairing it.
I don't see the capital ship limit needing to be removed. Once the AI is more capable at attacking, or once there's multiplayer, I suspect you won't be able to keep those Capital ships alive for long.
I misread the charts at the end of the game, it's simply the amount of planets explored by ship as opposed to planets explored through Planet Development.
It's a bug.
Last Flagship Standing doesn't work with the new update. The game simply ends with a loss for the player when you start it. Possibly because the player doesn't even have a flagship before building one.
I played a 2v2, Medium Galaxy, Average difficulty AI yesterday and just finished a 2v2 Hard AI, small galaxy. First game lasted about three hours and the second about 4 and half. Both however could have ended earlier by adopting a more aggressive playstyle but that's beyond the point of this thread. Some things I took notice too however was the immediate increased use of Capital Ships for the AI, which is a good thing. But overall I think it may be worse off at attacking then prior to t
but all you see are resource traders. So it doesnt matter where they are put, as they dont gain more or less from traveling longer or smaller There's a finite number of ships that can utilize the resource harvesters at any given moment, you are still limiting your self by causing "road blocks". It's kinda like the old WC3 gold mining, optimal number of workers was around 5-6 if the HQ was right next to
6 on one planet and on another 4 i think Why so many around 1 planet? Surely it's better to spread them out across multiple planets, as you gain a bonus the further away they have to travel. Not to mention to avoid the traffic jam.
i dont think the capital ships bit is a problem. I like it, and it does let you choose your first capital ship effectively. Lets face it: you'd have to be screwing around in a gigantic universe for a 16 capships to be your limiting factor, and you would have long since gone beyond your ability to control such an empire without pausing constantly. anyway, you can probably just mod the research if you want to screw around like that. i think
Ok, just updated to the new patch, started new game, selected to include capital ships. Started game, no capital ships were included into the start. Also, did you all disable custom galaxies??? When I tried to create one, it came up with a message stating that the custom galaxies were disabled, and presented the tutorial maps instead. Why would custom galaxies be disabled?? Glenn
Might pick it up after a patch or two. I've become pretty hesitant in the later years about picking up games right out of the gate. As they usually come with a patch days after release.
Not just because you mass produce them early on and fly around with your omega fleet of doom laying waste to anything non-capital ship. Hi Nova, with the new capital ship research topics it is unlikely that you'll be able to mass produce. You will be able to pick your flagship from the get-go but after that you're going to need big bucks to sustain a large number of capitals. <br/
a bit like battle star galactica where the cylons (robots) turn on the human race and own emm down. As long as it's the human Cylons... sign me up for some of that action. /homerdrool Tricia Helfer
so when should we b seein ths new patch? looks good by the way the release of the changelog means very soon. Maybe this week? Lots of nice changes there. I'll be honest though and say that I'm slightly disappointed that Capital ships research weren't changed to be separate research items per ship. But such is life <img id="ImageRe

The ship in the first pic is sexy.
but galciv or get jetnguns and space rangers 2 that is basically your only option. maybe gods lands of infinity: se, but I find jetnguns to be much more entertaining Yes those caught my eye.
If anyone doesn't know the Iron Man background story, but who doesn't!, it probably shows too much, though it's a trailer nonetheless. Link
I was immediately reminded me of Battlefleet Ghotic designs when I first saw the TEC Kol in game.

I have to admit, that even though it looks all cutesy and stuff it looks like a very ambitious project. The scale just seems mind blowing. And I have to agree with what someone said a while back, tho the name escapes me. But he said it takes a man like Will Wright to bring innovation to the genre. And I just have to agree with that.

I'm not to keen on the OPs idea, but I wouldn't mind seeing MOO like events, such as the space crystal, or ameba. Or asteroids that threatens to wipe out an entire planet.
Tech for Trade Ports early, and use plenty of those.
