I personally think ship chatter will be annoying and would be better to allocate the resources to improve other things like effects, movements, game balancing and AI.
I don't think you have played CoH then, because the battle/audio voicing made that game for me.

Use flak frigs to deal with hangar defense, and LRMs/bombers to deal with gauss guns.
Just because research is free doesn't mean you wont have the challenge of choosing what to research. There is still the time it takes to research, and what techs you think are important to research will certainly be different than the other guy's. Not really. Most people would probably just settle into a plan and queue up everything they want. Then it's just a matter of waiting for new ships, etc to come av
I say just get rid of research costs as an option to speed up MP games, it is a possibly easy solution to increasing game speed. How do you honestly know it works until it has been tried? If it doesn't work out it isn't the end of the world, and it is our job to test this. If you have too much time and you are bored perhaps you should ask for more strategic content to fill it up instead of wanting faster action. Yea, there
Techs would still take time to research, and the tiers higher up would take longer to research as they do now. You would still have to build research stations to build up the tiers and improve research times. Only without research costs you could have more money to spend on building your fleet and increasing components. In other words, you get into the battles quicker, it wouldn't take you over an hour to get a few kodiak cruisers, and overall the game goes quicker how you want it. Just
I agree with most of your points. I also don't like what purpose the asteroid belts, nebulae, and gas giants serve. They only have negative impacts, no positive, and they would only be useful during battle. I would rather fight on my own ground where I have my defenses up than at a gas giant or an asteroid belt where there is nothing to fight over. They should come up with some new ideas as to what purpose they should serve other than just free space. Although it's entertaining to think
Likewise Sins needs to be fun for idiots and remain interesting for people that are not idiots. And again, you aren't listening to me: the idiots won't play because they don't understand orbital mechanics, and don't want it. Its counter-intuitive, and unlike "surface mechanics" they aren't forced by real life to learn it. I still have a hard time believing tha
Also I take it the option of being able to make custom maps like in beta 2 will return in full release? Yes, we temporarily took this out to isolate testing on the scenarios. I don't really like the scenerios. What you should be testing is ways to give the player more options and control over creating his game, the more options the better. <img src="http://images.s
- solar flares? not just fancy effects from star, but what about random huge flares (one an hour?) which errupt from the star and slowly move out across the system (slowly) im sure there are lots of things you can guys can come up with so it can effect gameplay... (lose phase lanes?) sheilds reduced in the storm? planets effected when it hits them. This is a bit like that plasma storm effect you got in B3, but its just fe
For those that don't have the beta, when you select a given scenario no two games are the same in terms of exploration. Random planets, asteroids, belts, plasma storms, special planet bonuses, starting positions, environmental aesthetics, and more are generated per game so you always get a unique experience every time. There are also a number of random map options (phase lanes not preset) for various size games. There are many more to come.&nb
I'll back that up, GG though mr. Lugge. I also noticed there is a bug with the Sova Carrier where it disappears when it is about to blow up so you just see the explosions and bits flying off while it has disappeared.
One of my favorite things to do in all RTS game is explore the map because it's usually different and you dont know what you will see or get. Whether it was AoE, Starcraft, Civilization, or anything else. CoH is the exception because the mix of gameplay and good map design always lead to dynamic battles. With sins I don't get the satisfaction of exploration unfortunately. There is the phase lanes and gravity wells that really limits the layout and exploring. There is the exploring plane
Ok, I tried my hands on some Sins video. This is the result. Quite honestly, it sucks. Could anybody help me with naming good programs to: 1. capture the video from the game 2. edit and cut the video 3. compress it to a size which is usable Somebody got some tips? <img id="ImageResize_Image_4" onload="ImageResizer.createOn(this);" src="http://image
Last night I had a game where pirates attacked only once during the whole hour and a half game. It was in the beginning, and we didn't see the pirates again.
The moon is orbitting Earth, and, therefore, varies in distance to the Sun by its orbital distance. I think you may be confusing this with the fact that the Moon rotates at the same period as its orbit? In the absence of the Earth, the moons orbit would have to change -- the decrease in mass of the system would mean that the moon would have to fall towards a tighter (and faster) path. I'm not sure whether you propose moons orbiting planets, or
looks really cool, i like the idea.
and you sure you didnt loose a cap ship... because i saw some MASSIVE explosions... and i only had 1 kol in that battle i swear i though you lost atleast 1 if not 2? Yup, check the statistics for capital ships lost. beautiful.... was this vs another human or the AI ? Human. It was a 3 player ffa, and the other guy was
Hehe, nice writeup and some cool screenshots there. I remember the travilers as being a bunch of planet hogs at the beginning, that needed to be punished. Good thing my Kol BS got away in the nick of time, I've never lost a capital ship and hope I never will.
Sounds to me like Prime Magnetism would get their asses kicked by Ultimate Repulsion.
I don't think artifacts should be viewable before they are explored, bad idea imo. I do think there should only be 1 level of exploration that just covers the whole planet 100% instead of having to explore it twice. I usually can't afford 1300 units + minerals at the beginning or even middle of an MP game to full explore 1 planet. Maybe there could be an option in multiplayer when checked guarantees at least one goodie found on every planet through exploration, but luck of the draw for
Improves repair rates as well? I think sometime along the betas, a better info write up on everything in game is needed because there seems to be a lot I don't know which is not written on info cards or research items.
Ya, something like some strat games seem to have that increases the resource rate gain.
Yea, it is incredibly awkward sometimes.
I'd love to have a first impression of B3, but it doesn't look like thats gonna happen. Hope the game turns out for you guys, but I'm canceling my pre-order. I refuse to put up with stardocks crap another minute. Hi BMBender, sorry you are disappointed. Perhaps if you let us know what the problem is we can help you out <img id="ImageResize_Image_6" onload="ImageResizer.createOn(this);" sr
^^^ thought they fixed that in this new beta.
