for the record on boot up you get: 1. SD logo 2. IC logo 3. sins intro (which can be set to either a static image that looks like this forum or a movie) all are escapeable and it's no where near as bad as other publishers. as for deleting, ik heb geen idea +P
guessing this should work like any other impulse download... 1. install impulse on you internet computer (this may be the big hurdle if you can't get permission) 2. download entrechment 3. right click the icon and select "archive". this will save all the needed gumph into one *.impulse file 4. copy the *.impulse file to your playing machine 5. click the stardock icon in the top left of impulse, select restore archive, select the *.impulse
works for me [e digicons]^_^[/e] what version you got?

as i was interested to know, i bought the game online when it first came out and paid £22.98. if i'd done the same today it would be £27.80. so 'im gald to have supported the company and got a deal too [e digicons][/e] :edit: also worth noting that tube fairs would've been about £2.80, so it's still the best thing as you save the hassle.
don't know if i'll get laughs or praise for metioning this, but: Battle for Wesnoth. havn't played online but i find it really enjoyable. it's free btw.
hi, not entierly sure what you mean by control points, but if you hold shift whilst moving you can stack, also works for attack. e.g. you tell your bombarding ships to move to somwhere safe, then shift right click the planet and they'll start attacking when they get there. as for the benifits of moving them out side the gravity well, i means you can jump out quickly if needed, you should really be doin
nice one megamanfan, that's the bug, i had greened up but then we decided to go back to the lobby for more players. when i un greened the back bar didn't un-grey. i'll retest when i get home tonight
looks like a one off, but still...
just hosted a game for 2. decided to wait for more palyers. kicked other player but the back button remained grey. had to restart to return ???
not much to add to the debate but i feel it important this thread continues to grow. having just checked, it's a year and a fortnight since i discovered Stardock, in that time i have purchased galciv2 and it expansions, soase and the demigod beta. that's 5 titles in a lifetime collection of 15 games. why? cos of the community and spirit behind the company. the easy of distribution. a price that makes sense. the reaso
#you mess me around and then worst all, you never call baby when you say you will...#
could you post the specs of your new display? also, if you tick that "use windows mode" box you nagate the issue as the resolution of your desktop will be used. also means you can do other things while your waiting for you fleet to cross the galaxy =) MrL
#why do you fill me up, buttercup baby just to let me down...#
i've actually done this the other way round, coming from a lap to a desktop. after 6 months worht of play, it's certainly possible to play effectively using v and b (z,x and c are also useful predefined zoom levels). saying that when i started using the mouse it was like a whole new game, so i would recommend playing that way if you can. my 2p
Ryeeson - 1. not much more to do then collect the resources here. one bonus of having collectors here is that you can see ships when they jump in, info never hurts. 2. if you select nebulae/astroids/storms/etcs and look in the bottom right you'll see an ability. hover over it to see what it does. i forget which is which but examples are; no strike craft, no abilites, etc. not sure about the trade chain, i've played where it hasn't when it has so i'm ont sure what the condition
k to give you a different take, i don't use AV software! all it seems to do is give false positives and eat cpu. instead i use the following: a router. this stops a lot of random stuff cos it just doesn't get though. XP firewall. don't know if this does anything on top of the router but it don't bug me so i don't bug it. firefox with the noscript add-on. this means i have to actively agree to run java script on my PC. it's a bit annoying for others wh
these are just a few things i neglected when i started and really improved my game once i understood. first thing that came to mind was scouts. it's really important to know what's going on so you can counter effectively and strike in weak spots, so always make sure you've got a few of them around. other things would be: making sure you planets aren't costing you (hovering over credits counter shows production at all palnets, red is bad) by upgrading civ structures.<br
when assigning movement orders you can press shift to stack them, so while you can't make a loop you can (and i do) tell me scouts the path i want them to take, just keeping clicking till you're bored. but yeah a loop feature would be nice, though i don't think we need to petition the devs to get it, just in case ;) /signed
would that include industrial sabotage? tres cool :HOT:
i like the idea of keeping things secret (it's fun being allied people and getting them to fight =P) but i also like the idea of seeing my allies allies, so i know i'm fighting for a good cause. so i propose a diplomatic option (like show ships) be added that shows an ally who i'm allied with. this way by sharing we can trust each other more, which is what diplomacy is about. thoughts?
Thanks frogboy, that's all you had to say. i can sleep soundly now.
Hi, don't want to winge on this good news, but... firstly, i've updated to 1.04 and rebooted twice (just in case that did the trick) first issue i'm seeing is it's taking 30-60 secs for me to login (i.e. be able to select my name after entering my password) also i'm unable to join any (open) game, i can see there are people joining so the hosts must be good. it's late here, so i havn't got time to investigate, but i was hosting fine before hand so my network should be good
