I have to agree with OP. Yesterday there was big battle (with lots of slowdown) on one of my Asteroid Border Worlds. The Enemy (TEC) had a big fleet with several capital ships, I (Advent) had about equal force. My fleet got the upper hand, and the enemy started fleeing, however, since the PJI was intact (undamaged, even) my fleet was able to destrioy all three capital ships of the enemy fleet, and several frigates and cruisers aswell while they were trying to jump. The PJI should have

Try to change into the folder before running the program with cd and then ty to run the program, if that doen't work put the folder path in " " quotes
Being a Homeworld fan, RelicNews Forums. The thread is still there, its got a bit negative start, but in the end (nearly) everyone started loving it :)
For some reason, i had to free 2.5 GB of drive space to install the patch, and all of it still available? Anyway, now installed and working [e digicons][/e]
This is strange, first the update size was only 3,44 MB (i have the latest beta, though), then, Impulse said i don't have enough drive space to install it even though i have over 1GB free space (amazing compression there :D), and now it's been stuck on "Installing..." for about 15 minutes. Any ideas whats wrong?
Just to further clarify: it's the same SecuROM that's used on Mass Effect, Spore, Re Alert 3, Dead Space, and others. However, they didn't turn on the extra 'features', so all it does is perform a disc-in-drive check. One other thing of note though is it also checks against SecuROM's blacklist so if you have Alcohol, Daemon Tools or other Sony blacklisted software, the game will not start. Are you sure? I have Daemon Tools installed and
I have some basic knowledge of the fallout storyline, and i actually have the original Fallout! I salvaged it from carage sale, but have never actually played it O_o. Also, Fallout 2 is on $6 on GOG.com, so maybe i should try those first. The reviews of Fallout 3 are quite high though, and i believe the PC version has no DRM? Not that that has ever stopped me, but it is a nice thing. EDIT: Well what do you know! Fallout installs and and plays fine under Vista wi
So, would you guys recommend this for a guy like me who liked Mass Effect and loved The Witcher and NWN, and who hasn't played the first two fallouts? (i was a nintendo kid back then, sorry [e digicons][/e] )
I have to disagree with ToJKa on the whole license issues. Copyright means legally that they have duplication/distribution rights, not useage rights.
Yes, but before installing, you have to read (optional :P) and accept the End User License Agreement, and it is there that the usage limitations are listed. And i thought that a personal backup copy is legal?
The difference is, that clothes, books, cars and houses are PRODUCTS. They are yours after you buy them. When you buy a game, you buy a LICENSE to use SOFTWARE (and the disc, manual and package, which are products, confusing, right?). The game is not yours, you just buy a permit to use it.
DRM works: Diabolical Reaming Method or how about: Customer Rights Infringment MalwarE :P Seriously though, DRM hasn't caused any problems to me yet, and on principle, the only DRM method i have a problem with is the UNREVOKABLE activations version that EA seems to be bent on using. But still, that didn't prevent me from buying Dead Space. A good game is a good game, and the developers deserve money for their work, despite the DRM the publisher might ship it wi
Yes, its really useful, a Super task manager deluxe [e digicons][/e] . A word of warning, though: some versions of SecuRom throw a fit when its running, a restart used to be required before a SecuRom game could be started, but i think that was fixed.
I'm glad they didn't, there's more to look forward to [e digicons][/e] The TEC Starbase seemed to fire with two of Kols lasers, but it does have more armaments, right? I hope they are armed to the teeth and then some. Also, those must be really expensive, and slow to build? BTW, you do teach the AI to use them, don't you?
any downloads or tests yet?
An early test release with only the empire, that is MASSIVELY overpowered against the vanilla races. You can find it here .
17" IBM G74 CRT monitor. Nothiing fancy, but does it's job. Funnily enough, its hooked up to a GF9600GT, so i thinks it's like pulling a haycart with a Ferrari :D
If I buy a game I want to be able to do with it what I want.
But the thing is, you are not buying a product, you are buying a license to use software, and that limits your rights over it. It excatly the same as with Photoshop or Windows. I doubt that lawsuit goes anywhere too, but hopefully it sends a clear message to EA: "We don't want to deal with this s**t!".
Related news: a class-action lawsuit has been filed against EA for Spore's DRM: http://www.courthousenews.com/2008/09/23/Spore.pdf Interesting to see how that goes..
Once in Homeworld 2, i put finnish flags on Hiigaran ships and USSR flags on Vaygr ships, and proceeded to slaughtered them (the Vaygr) horribly [e digicons][/e] . On topic: yes, that would be cool! A decal that says "i'm gonna WTFPWN you" (symbolically [e digicons]|-)[/e] ) on a Kol's nose would own! BTW, can you make your own player icons? (i mean the things that show structure/ship/planet ownership)
My pre-ordered copy failed to make it for the weekend [e digicons]>:([/e] , but at least i have The Witcher EE to keep me busy. It seems that everyone loves Warhead, so i'm looking forward to getting it.
Crysis was the first game i bought to test out this new rig, and i have warhead preordered. The reviews and videos look really good, though it seems that everyone has a nanosuit now. [e digicons]:P[/e] There also seems to be a lot of aliens in warhead too, but apparently CryTek has tweaked the alien AI to behave more like NK troops, though i had no problem with the aliens to begin with, neither had a problem with trigens in FarCry. Actually, i'm worried about FarCry 2, if it has no aliens or
I just played a quick match with the new beta, and noticed that on the mini bounty window i was able to place bounty on player that was defeated ten or so minutes ago. On the main underground window that was impossible though.
Take a look at [link="http://www.tweakguides.com/images/Quake4_9.jpg"]this[/link]. It is from Quake 4, but it works about the same in Sins. The performance impact is small, its the extras that require most processing power (i think).
